Season 6 spoilers

I'm sorry. After reading it over again the entire thing reads like a giant metaphor for foreplay/orgasm/tease with the Shamy. I was being too literal. Its actually kind of brilliant.

I skimmed over the LP & Raj stuff. I'll see it when it airs.

ATTENTION EVERYONE!  I am here to clear something important up!  I made a terrible mistake in my review that has the forum buzzing.  I said Sheldon closed the door on Amy and said "And I wish you were dead."  My daughter reminded me that they reshot that scene so that instead, he said, "SUCKER!"  I can't believe I forgot that!!!  So please...go easy on Sheldon/the writers. He/they did not go with that line!

I'm not sure you can assume she isn't passionate about her career. According to the taping report, she does talk about knowing she will become a star. And Disgusted makes a good point about her now having a solid foundation to leave from and safe haven to return to both literally and figuratively.

This is part of the reason why I am a bit confused. On the one hand, she tells Bernadette she wishes she could be as passionate about something as Leonard is about Buffy, thereby implying that she is not. On the other, we have seen how she has never given up on her acting career in spite of the many setbacks. It looks a bit contradictory to me.

But you are right, she does mention she knows she will be a star. So that probably counts as her recognizing this part of her life as another thing she feels very strongly about.

Maybe I am confused because the varying passions discussed in this episode are so different the ones from the others. Leonard has a TV show; Bernadette has microbiology (and unlimited power); Penny has Leonard and her friends. It is quite a mixed bag : from trivial (Leonard) to career-defining (Bernadette) to live-changing (Penny).

Anyway, this is just me being annoying. I am sure the episode and final LP scene will be great : after all, it appears quite clear the writers merely used this "passion" talk as a means to the real end which is Penny realizing how essential Leonard is to her life and, even more importantly, telling him so.

Ok. What the f*ck is going on w Sheldon and Amy. What are the writers doing?!!!?

I understand Sheldon is Sheldon but we are wayyyy back tracking here

6x1 was amazing, 6x2 hand holding, admitting his feelings, living together, v- day ep

Now last ep Sheldon kinda being mean to Amy

Hating on the hand holding, telling her to hush.

And now "sucker" or " I wish u were dead"?!??

What the hell!!!

Even Sheldon saying "sucker" is rude.

I wanted Sheldon to go f himself after I read that.

I love Sheldon but this changes how I feel about him.

That's his GF. I understand its Sheldon and its his first relationship. But that's out of line for the writers.

Maybe it's leading to something big or even a break up. IDK. I hope not a breakup.

This a special relationship to just throw away for poke fun of Amy for cheap laughs.

Maybe it will play better on TV. Idk.

I hope the season finale will please us shamy ppl

We will see...

As for the Shamies, Chuck Lorre has said that he is "fascinated" by the Sheldon/Amy dynamic. That can only be good for you.  :icon_twisted:

TBS has been showing episodes from season three, tonight. Intrestingly, you don't realize how much Leonard and Penny are shown to be fighting just prior to 3.19, "The Wheaton Recurrence".

Maybe it's just me... I detect an undercurrent of dissatisfaction rising in Amy.  She went off on Sheldon not wanting her as a roommate (6-15), she gave in to Sheldon about V-day and though she was touched by his Gift, she ended up being hassled by his insistent demands "A brain tumor would explain a lot" (6-16), "Yeah, yeah you want a cigarette, I'd like a normal boyfriend, deal with it!" (6-17), Nothing really in 6-18 except being ignored as Sleeping Beauty, "You used me as a human shield!" (6-19). In 6-20 even if they use the line "Sucker", instead of "I wish you were dead" there looks like trouble in Shameyville. I suspect a breakup is in store for the season finally.

There is no way they would break up Shamy for any reason other than to demonstrate how desperately Sheldon needs Amy and how truly miserable he would be without her. And I REALLY don't think they would do it in the season finale. The writers LIKE this relationship

and I think they are very well aware that a large part of their audience is deeply invested in it. Why would they risk alienating or even losing those viewers?

JMO.

Because that same 'deeply invested audience' will tune in to watch every moment waiting and hoping for them to get back together.

I just really don't see them ending the season on such a decidedly sour note. I suppose it's possible that it could be done cliffhanger-style -- Amy breaks it off, then Sheldon says or does something that implies he is going to do whatever it takes to win her back, etc. First and foremost, TBBT is a comedy. A sad, seemingly beyond repair breakup is not funny.

Do you remember the ending of the second season, where the guys went to the Magnetic North poll for the summer and Penny was miserable because she couldn't admit she was going to miss Leonard. Or the fourth season, where it looked like Penny and Raj had slept together? Not exactly a laugh fest.
