I don't post often, but I was at this week's taping, and wanted to confirm that the "I wish you were dead" line was never uttered. They had pre-recorded that scene, and in the version they showed us, the line was, "...and you are a sucker!!" It didn't come across as mean at all. Basically Sheldon was standing at the door telling Amy how helpful she'd been in helping him to overcome his need for closure. Then he said something like, "And you're a really great girlfriend, and... [long pause, while Amy looks on expectantly]... well, that doesn't really matter, now, does it?" Amy smiles, believing that Sheldon has really grown from her lessons, and she leaves happy. Then Sheldon closes the door, and now alone, concludes his statement with, "...AND you are a sucker!!" He then proceeds to undo everything Amy taught him, ending with the dominorgasm. 

The L/P scene was sweet, but it didn't feel quite like an "I love you" in the same sense as the first time she said it (I actually don't remember for sure if she even uttered "I love you" in this scene... she definitely said, "I'm passionate about you.") She was making the point that her friends (and she did reference Sheldon) were her passion, and that she needed to start living in the "now" instead of feeling like her life wouldn't begin until she made it big as an actress. At least, that was my read on the scene. It was really sweet when Kaley started to cry. They did a take immediately after she was crying, where you could still see tears in her eyes, and I hope that's the one they end up using!

I actually thought the scenes with Raj/Lucy were just as sweet. Raj really made himself vulnerable in opening up to her. I hope their relationship works out!

I'm happy to answer any questions about the episode (but warning, I didn't take notes, so I'm only going on my memory).

 

Oh my! If this will be thruth, then I`m wondering how much longer must we wait, to hear: "I Love You Forever and Ever" from Penny. Straight from the heart.

Ah, ok, can be only "I Love you" Why she is so selfish. Poor Leonard.

Has Bill Prady tweeted the script cover for the Professor Proton episode yet?  Is that the one they'll be filming on Tuesday?

The press is reporting that Professor Proton has something to do with Leonard's early life too.  Wonder what it could be.  Any ideas?

I think it's just that he hosted a children's science show.  Maybe Leonard related to him because his parents were so cold.  Or maybe he resented him because his parents pushed him into science. Hmmm...

That would be beyond awesomeness.  Wonder if they would note the concept that Mary Cooper would be an ideal mother for Leonard while Beverly an ideal fit for Sheldon...

Well, that was something that Lorre and Prady talking about wanting to do, not something that was set in stone.  It would be nice if they could fit it into the last couple of episodes.  I don't know that it would be the finale and we know that #22 is the Professor Proton ep.  I think we might have heard by now if it was going to happen.  Or maybe not, I guess.

But Sheldon would never share his mother.  He might think he'd want Beverly for a mother, and I'm sure Leonard would prefer Mary, but in the end, Sheldon's too attached to his mother.

 

I do think it would be funny to explore that dynamic, though.

Actually, I have a feeling that the idea about the S/L parents meeting in a future episode was mentioned back in comic con, I think? And then one of the admins in the wiki added that, thinking it was actually confirmed.

I'm sorry but Soft Kitty lost it's mystique in Season 4 when Penny sang the song to Sheldon's robot. That scene was totally lame and ridiculous. Maybe Amy singing it to Sheldon will bring the mystique back but I don't know. Just my opinion.

Amy is really frustrated with Sheldon doing nothing to progress their physical relationship , so Penny tells Leonard and they both confront Sheldon asking what happened to him working on it....then Sheldon smugly says ...once again you both have fallen for my classic practical jokes ....BAZINGA

I could see a L/P pregnancy to bring the "our babies will be smart AND beautiful" line full-circle.  Howard and Bernie should just adopt Raj.  Definitely no Shamy baby.

You're probably right re a Shamy baby, Teneal. But I do think marriage is a possibility for Sheldon and Amy. In fact, I could see marriage happening before sex, given Sheldon's upbringing. As much as he resists and opposes his mother's religious views, he is a traditional southern gentleman at heart and has tremendous respect for her and for his mee-maw. He also said at Howard's bachelor party that he always thought Howard would be the last of the group to get married (I realize it was a joke, but maybe he truly believed that?)....so there's that. Shamy wedding for the series finale, anyone? Or maybe just one of the last episodes. We can't miss out on Shamy coitus!
