Amy don't play. Not a lot of Howard/Raj but I am loving the development of the Sheldon/Leonard relationship, more of that please.

My thoughts: I loved it. Writing was great.

 

I really like the side of Penny we see in the episode. She is able to open up to Leonard about her insecurities and actually, SERIOUSLY, asks him if he's gonna leave her for someone smarter than her. The fact that she even considered looking into taking science classes was a big step as well. And Leonard dragging HER into the bedroom was a nice change.

 

Their relationship seems stronger than ever, clearly.

I also liked that Sheldon was a definite badass. He pretty much saved his friends from being in trouble with HR at the end. He also showed a lot of growth in the face that he cared enough about Leonard to ask all the girls for advice about the situation. He made them silly shirts, sure, but I think that's his weird way of showing appreciation. I also liked that he was making sexual jokes. "Not knowing a uterus from a unicycle." etc.

 

It was sort of weird, but more than ever before, this episode portrayed every character like an adult who has to deal with their own problems, and they were sticking together. I really liked it.

 

Thanks for this follow up analysis, Kyzzx. Your editorials are always as dead on as your reporting.

 

What else is left to do on the build up to the final phase of the L/P relationship? They have now cleared away all the hidden insecurity blocks (mainly Penny's) that kept them from moving to the final bonding. After five years of sometime silly delays, they were made ready in half a season. That was fast.

Thanks so much for the taping report Krizz! I really like the end of that episode! And I love Raj in that epsiode. He´s just great this season! And HR was a cool idea. So big of Sheldon to apologize to Alex.

It was nice to see Penny acknowledge that she has insecurities about her place in her relationship with Leonard. It was the nice reversal of things.

 

Even though they've left it open for Alex to return, I really hope she doesn't because she knows Leonard is in a committed relationship and yet she pretty much asks him out on a date anyway. This ruined her character for me which sucks because I really liked her in the beginning. If she comes back Leonard needs to tell her that he's committed to Penny. That was one thing that didn't happen in this episode and it was probably the only legitimate point Raj had.

 

Speaking of Raj, they writers really need to start doing something with him and soon because he really came across like a borderline creeper here in this episode between him comments about Alex to his talking with his dog. Pathetic.

I loved the egg salad metaphor! And Giant Jenga!

I do wonder if this the last we'll see of Alex, now that Penny explained that Alex being around made her feel insecure. Leonard now knows to keep Alex at arm's length and Alex may or may not continue as Sheldon's assistant after all this.

But if the L/P aspect of the Alex storyline has pretty much been resolved, I wonder if they'll keep bringing her back for random appearances, or if they consider her done.

I don't have anything against her, I just wonder how or if she'll fit into any other storylines.

I really have to go to bed now...

LOL! Can't wait to see this one, sounds like a riot. I'll expand on it once I read through the report properly.

 

I love Amy's line ""Penny, you just say the word and I've got a lab full of cocaine-addicted monkeys with NOTHING to lose." hahaha. 

 

I love Sheldon's council of ladies. I love any scene where he's with all the girls, it's adorable.

 

 

eta: Ok, finished reading it properly. I am really glad with how things turned out with Alex/Penny/Leonard. I totally agree that their relationship seems so strong now, I wonder what the Shenny's will now come up with to predict breakups.    I am really curious where the rest of the season is going to take them and whether Alex will be back and what they will do with her. Raj does keep bringing her up as a love interest, so maybe they're really building it up to something. I don't know that I'd want him to get a girlfriend so soon though. I do agree however that having Alex ask Leonard on a date when she is perfectly aware that he has a girlfriend didn't do any good to her character.

 

I am so so impressed with Sheldon in this one. He is the old, inappropriate, no-filter Sheldon but there's so much good intention behind all of it. This is massive character growth and done in a way that's completely consistent with his character. So well done, writers. I am always so impressed at how they manage to make him grow whilst still keeping him in character. First you have 6x10 where he takes care of Amy in a way he would have never done before, then you have this one where he tries so hard to help Leonard out even though he wouldn't be gaining anything from it, so totally selflessly. Wow. He's really growing up. Also, the whole "you're slaves to your baser urges, and there's nothing wrong with that..."? Really now, Sheldon? Tell me more.   How is he suddenly so informed on all these matters and so non-judgemental, just giving tips on how to suppress the urges?

 

Also, I only just noticed. They are at Amy's having the council and HE is making tea for them??? awwww.

 

And this, was also hilarious: "Who said anything about Leonard and Alex??" "FINE. Ricardo and Tandalaya!" lololol

 

Anyway, this reads great on paper, I'm sure it'll be even better on screen.

Every great sitcom in TV history has some stretch where the story lines, screenplays and performances seems to hit a peek at the same time. TBBT season six appears to be in such a stretch now. They are being rewarded with explosive ratings growth and attention in the media. This reinforces to the powers that be that this is working like never before and its what the fans want, so keep it coming.

 

We know it can't last forever but we can just luxuriate in the glory now.

Ok I have several thoughts :

 

Sheldon Cooper, you have grown up SO MUCH, I think this episode more than any other is your 'coming out' party so to speak, the full Sheldon Cooper on display. His feigning of innocence, his wit, his TREMENDOUS growth. Sheldon just talks about sex, women with such ease now and really is looking out for his friends. I think this shall be my fave episode for Sheldon and his growth ever. Can't wait really.

 

I know Regina King will be perfection in this role....I can see her facial expressions now.

 

Amy and her monkeys.....the cops need to look into her, LMAO.

 

I am applying to be an official member of Sheldon Cooper's Council of Ladies.

 

and as a Shamy shipper, I LOOOOOVE that the first meeting was held at his girl's apartment and that he said you're slaves to your baser urges, and there's nothing wrong with that...

 

Poor, sweet Raj and hilarious Leonard and Howard. 

 

Penny....and Leonard....meh!

 

But this all sounds something kind of amazing, specially for Sheldon and his growing up!

First off thank ya to Kyzzx!  Great report can't wait till it finally comes out... any one know when it airs???

 

Glad to see penny as the scared one for once... i wish she had said "we are still dating right?" when her and Leonard were on the couch instead of asking if he was gonna leave.  That not would have been funny and really shown how the couple has gone full circle.

 

All in all though it sonds like a really nice episode and i am looking forward to seeing it on screen

Thanks Kyzzx.  I appreciate the time you take to type these up and report what you saw.

I love the adult Sheldon.  He really has grown leaps and bounds.   I also like that he seems to have been studying up a lot of sexual things.   It sounds to me like the man is growing his own sexual awareness along with it because it makes no sense he would waste his time otherwise.  We all know he doesn't waste time on things of no consequence to him.    I also love how he defended Leonard and eventually all of his friends in the end with the HR woman.

 

I love the Sheldon Council Ladies and the fact that he held the meeting in Amy's apartment and felt so at ease making tea.  He is very comfortable in his ladies environment showing us that he must spend a lot more time there than we actually see on the show.

 

Love that Leonard and Penny grew stronger and more understanding of each other.  Love that Leonard just accepts her the way she is and she does him.   They resolved their insecurities together, building for a stronger couple.

 

Raj, they seriously need to get him a girlfriend.  He still comes across far too pathetic.  I personally would like to see Alex return to be paired with him.  I know she hit on a guy already taken, but perhaps if she rethinks things, she will start to look around at who is available and realize he has a lot to offer and would be willing to put up with his selective mutism.  She might feel like it is a challenge to try and curer him of it. 

 

The only thing I wish, is that they had had a little bit more interaction with Sheldon and Amy, maybe just one small scene showing them together alone.   But other than that it looks like it is going to be a good show.

We have an overload of Shamy scenes in 6x10, it makes sense that they would be staying away from that for the next few episodes, they always do that. 

 

I do think this ep shows that both couples are strong though, even though you don't get to see S/A interact on their own. Like we said, the fact that he's making tea for the girls in her apartment is a subtle, but important thing. Remember how he's obsessed with the proper protocol regarding beverages? "I'm a guest in your home, so it would be customary for you to offer me a beverage"/"When they were over here, did you fail to offer them a beverage?". He is the one making tea for the guests now. There is no other point in having him do that for that particular scene other than to show that he is essentially "at home" over there now. Both L/P and S/A come across as settled and "grown-up" in this one. Love it.

Well , I think Sheldon making Tea to the girls makes sense to his character/continuity....because we have seen on many occasions that whenever he needs some help/advice from girls(mostly Penny) he always offers them something(gummy bears, ice cream etc)...... So I don't think its something that is new
