Season 6 spoilers

Sheldon is a giant pain in the ass most of the time and given how Leonard and co are stuck catering to his will most of the time it's only right that Sheldon should actually help out his friends from time to time. It's the least he could do.

And Sheldon  expects that there will be an imbalance of catering in his favor and blatantly says as much all the time. He even has told Leonard that the roommate agreement was written for his benefit. He has told Amy the same about the relationship agreement.

Sheldon is a giant pain in the ass and seems to be proud of it.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however, to say that Penny's hair is a nightmare and awful is totally ridiculous! They have always had Penny dressing the best on the show and that includes the different hairstyles that go with the scene. That is her character, she is into fashion from clothes, to shoes, to hairstyles and they are always very well done IMO.

Sheldon might be a "giant pain in the ass" but the fact that they all put up with him instead of kicking him out of their lives speaks volumes. There is more to Sheldon than just being a pain in the ass and his friends, unlike some who watch the show apparently, understand him. Different life experiences shape different kinds of people and personalities. Clearly, the good in him out-weighs the bad and that's why they care to keep him in their lives.

Monique, I don't think anyone is disputing that he brings a lot to his circle of friends.   The pain in the ass comment was directed at the sentiment in post #1576.  That the other guys basically didn't deserve Sheldon because he goes out of his way to help all his friends all the time, while his friends don't go out of the way to do anything for him.   This,of course, ignores all the things that his friends do for him, despite his attitude toward them, i.e., his being a pain in the ass.

You haven't been taking much notice of the series if you're surprised at Sheldon going out of his way to help Leonard (or anybody else) -  he's been doing that since the beginning: the episode with Penny singing when he saved Leonard from his stupid lie, the episode with Leonard blowing up the elevator, saying to Penny "Please don't hurt my friend", when he drives Penny to the hospital, when he accompanies Leonard on his foolhardy quests to impress Penny, and so many more all through the series. While Leonard very rarely helps Sheldon, and in fact usually goes out of the way to hurt him or make him look like a fool or tries to take the limelight for himself: the first episode of the second series, the espisode where Sheldon gets the award and Penny gets him drunk while Leonard is on the stage talking about himself instead of introducing Sheldon, when Leonard refuses to take Sheldon to Switzerland even though they had an agreement and it meant so much more to Sheldon than to Penny who would have been happy with a nice meal and a box of chocolates, when Sheldon gets his head caught in the wall and Leonard says he's going to help him and instead sits down to text. Also, note the double standards: when Sheldon goes into Leonard's room at night it's a big scene with Leonard moaning and whinging but when Leonard goes into Sheldon's because (usually) he wants to know what's going on with Penny, Sheldon just wakes up and lets him speak after the initial shock. Such hypocrisy.

Your whole quote speaks of hypocracy. Where should I start.

Only Sheldon has gone out of his way to help the other guys. Never mind how many times Raj and Howard have taken Sheldon out of there way to places he wants to go.

That's right Penny gave Sheldon the drink not Leonard. But it's all Leonard's fault and Sheldon shouldn't get any blame for not controlling his drinking and making a fool out of himself.

In the Penny singing episode Sheldon was the one who came up with the idiotic lie.

As for Quests, you obviously missed The Zarnacki Episode where Leonard drove Sheldon to get back his online stuff. Speaking of which, Leonard drives Sheldon everywhere.

Leonard hardly helping Sheldon, trying to hurt him, taking away his limelight, give me a break and totally ridiculous. I'm actually laughing out loud about this one. Your clueless.

Penny accepting a nice meal and a box of chocolates over going to Switzerland for Valentines day. Really, if you watched the episode you would have seen that Penny was ecstatic about going to Switzerland. A nice meal and a box of chocolate is just not the equivalent. Your statement about this is really an insult to Penny. Tsk Tsk Tsk.

Sheldon putting his head in a hole in the wall and it getting stuck. Again Leonard is the bad guy even though he warned him not to do it but Sheldon was too stubborn to listen to him and your using this example for your argument. Wow, all I can say is Wow.

Finally, whiny Leonard, well Sheldon is just as whiny as the other guys. All four of them have doctorates in this gategory.

I hope your laughing at yourself when you write these posts of yours, because we all are

Oh good lord, another Leonard-hater + Sheldon-is-the-wounded-angel. :icon_rolleyes:

Leonard isn't flawless, but he's a good friend when it counts. Sheldon isn't flawless, but he's a good friend when it counts. They each of them (the 7 main characters) have their own set of issues and baggage and eccentricities, but are basically good people at heart and care about each other. That's how I see it, anyway.

I understand that. I just don't agree with some things that I read in response to post  #1576....especially "Leonard is Sheldon's slave". If any of these characters are "slaves" they are slaves to their own insecurities. Sheldon has NOTHING do with it.

Anyway, as already stated by everyone: NONE of them are perfect and they are perfect for each other. Some how it just works and I enjoy watching every minute of it.

Well, I don't agree with that either.

Can't argue with any of that.   :icon_biggrin:

No it's not. The pulled back and poofy style doesn't work for the character. She looks best when her hair is down and frames her face. It's downright distracting.

Agreed. Let's be real here. Sometimes the hair dressers don't do such a great job. LOL. The poof isn't an issue for me...it's just the fact that it's TOO HIGH. When I saw the picture I was like, "WTF???" LOL.

I think she looks stunning when she has the cute side pony tails....like the one in the parking spot episode. It was a fishtail braid. I like when they actually take the time to make her hair look pretty. She's a beautiful girl who deserves nothing less.

I think that it's great that they play around with Penny's hair. I think it suits her character to have a different hairstyle for pretty much every situation and I don't think there's anything that bad with her big updo. Maybe it's a little higher than normal, but I think it still works, especially in context.

And I have rehearsal this week, so I'll have to tape it and watch it late.

I'm always afraid that such a night will be the night my old VCR decides to kick the bucket or eat the tape or something else.

The only good thing about no new episodes for the next 2 or 3 weeks is that I'll be out of town and at least I know I won't miss anything.  I'm taking my DVDs with me again like I did at Thanksgiving.  I did get my sister to watch some eps with me and she did seem to enjoy it.  However she was laughing at my ability to find a quote or a scene from TBBT that related to almost EVERYTHING we talked about while I was there! :D :D

Oh, and isn't there a rerun on tonight after 2 Broke Girls or whatever it is that runs at 7:00pm (or 8pm Eastern, I guess...)???

At 8:30 PM EST, right after HIMYM.   It's The Transporter Malfunction.

Yes, that's it!  Thanks.

I used to be this way about TXF--even though I owned all the eps on DVD, I still got a thrill out of seeing it on TV whenever it aired. :)

I have all the TBBT DVDs and I still watch it whenever it airs, between the local FOX affiliate that shows it every weeknight at 6:00 and 6:30, plus the TBS episodes, plus other times when it's on--like last night in the middle of the night...

ADDICTED!!! :icon_eek:

Yep, me too( I'm watching Barbarian Sublimation right now). My family insists I have all the episodes memorized. While, like you, I tend to watch every episode that is shown on TV, lately I've taken to watching individual scenes on the inter tubes. I go to get a life.
