vasu
Thanks for the report Kyzzx and Monique So the girls getting all nerdy and arguing about comics and the guys getting normal... I never expected this.. :D :D Amy - "No! It can't be picked 'up' because in space there is no 'up'!" Penny - "Oh, yeah? Well then how does the SUN come up EVERY DAY?" - This line had be me laughing a lot... Penny is one smart and spontaneous cookie.
MJistheBOMB
Thank You Kyzzx for the report and MjustheBOMB for the tidbits last night. This sounds like a fantastic episode. The guys and girls all in this together in their seperate storylines. Would have liked to see the girls comforting their men but that would have left Raj out in the cold so maybe it was better to end it like they did. I can imagine L/P having a fantastic night with each other The definitely deserved comforting. But their spirits were back up the moment they realized the girls were arguing over comic books. LOL! That part was cute. Monique
Kiru Breezy
This may be a ploy for the boys to NOT spend all the time playing video games etc, so if you see them doing other stuff, don't complain....Sheldon had an emotional reason to not pursue it all. MJistheBOMB
The staircase scene. Sheldon says, "We should never go outside again..." or something like that. There's a little dialogue between the guys before they burst into the apartment to see what the girls are talking about. It's pretty cute. Raj: are they really arguing about comic books?? (Or did he says Thors Hammer?) Howard: Maybe Thors Hammer is a new shade of finger nail polish. Sheldon: I think when we were (where ever they were, don't know what he said) we entered a parallel universe where the women in our lives appreciate good literature. LOL! Raj: *says something I can't remember correctly*...something about landing on them?? LOL. He looks over at Sheldon. Sheldon: Sheldon thinks about it and likes it and looks over to Leonard, "Your orders, Captain..." or something... Leonard: He says something about setting their guns to stun because if he vaporizes Penny, he'll never get a pretty girl like that again. See? this chick with the terrible memory can remember a little bit. LOL! Monique

rubyanjel
Oh gosh. I love this episode! Two thumbs up! I love the girls' discussion of the comic books. Their topics are so similar to the way the guys do their discussions. Really? AMY SAT ON SHELDON'S SPOT AND PENNY DID NOT EVEN BOTHER MAKING HER MOVE AWAY FROM THE SPOT LIKE SHE DID TO BERNADETTE BEFORE???????? No, I'm not making a big deal out of it. Someone said to me that she do like how Sheldon's developing this season but she fears he's going too fast. Though for me, I just think it's actually normal. I don't know. That depends on how this episode will go in the scene. I still think that Sheldon's essentially himself, only that there has been tweaks here and there. Come on, Vasu's been commenting and complaining all around that episode 6.09 is just typical Crazy Sheldon but on my friend's point-of-view, he has changed still in that episode, because Sheldon will not easily let another person win an argument like that. He's still Sheldon in the sense that he gave up his spot to be "the bigger man". He did not let it drag and they did not need to call his mother just to make him call it quits. So, I do think the change we see in these characters depend on what change THEY see in their very own point-of-view. In my case, I do see there has been changes and tweaks with each one of them and the reason we give Sheldon a special mention is because he is the one who has went through a lot of development recently and his developments were subtle yet garners a lot of impact. Come on, most of the fans would probably coo and would even try to reach into their TV sets like MJ did and would want to hug the poor kid. I know I will, because just reading Kyzzx and MJ's accounts of the taping turned me into a bumbling mess of "feels". BTW, thanks for the taping report, Kyzzx and MJ! BESOS! bostrich
I hope it won't be the last time and that they might actually use this to develop the girls as characters. Because, if you think about it, they've always been there mostly to allow the guys do go through character growth, I actually wouldn't be surprised if they had chosen to start focusing on them for their own sake. I wonder if it has something to do with how people have been commenting that it'd be nice to have a nerd-girl in the show. In the Santa Simulation ep Amy wants to play D&D, now they're all getting into comic books. I doubt this will turn them into full blown nerds, but I would be very happy if we were to see more of this in the future. They don't have to obsess over the same things as the guys, they could have them develop their own obsessions. I kind of relate to that because I geek out like crazy over very specific things, rather than being a geek over all sci-fi, all anime and all videogames. But when I do geek out, I do it big time. At the very least we won't see them make fun of the guys any longer. Even though the guys seemed discouraged in this ep, I bet they won't just drop their obsessions and the girls now don't have that excuse of being written as dismissive characters so as to not participate. I'm so tempted to pick up the phone, call TPTB and be like "More of this please!!!" lol. All of this. I hope they do use this as a launching off point to slowly develop the girls own interests and nerdiness in the background. The addition of the girl posse was a brilliant move in S4 and created a sitcom within a sitcom. The girls represent mainstream or non-geek culture and their storyline usually reflects this. I loved that in this episode we have the non-geek core of the show crossing over into geek interests. Or to be more accurate, what was once only for geeks has now gone mainstream. In the cold open, Leonard said CCSD had become too popular and wasn't about the comic books anymore. I don't think he'll mind superheroes and comic books being hip amongst the girls quite so much. I really hope they don't forget about the girls new interest before comic con next year. I wanna see the entire gang in full cosplay. Oh, and Amy likes bad boys and 'the punisher'? There's some continuity lol.
C-Trayne
first off loved the reports thanks so much!!! My quesetion though... do we not get to see the guys and girls actually interact when they get back? i mean the guys hear the girls talking about it but they never get to actually talk to them about it??? really? Also i really hope that this doesn't become one of those things that they never mention again. Its a great plot idea and has potential for some really funny scenes (for anyone who has ever argued with someone who has no idea what they're talking about will know). But it seems to be a recurring theme in BBT to introduce new ideas then sweep them under the rug. Lets hope that does not happen in this case. I would love to the girls become at least a little interested in teh guys interests Edited December 12, 2012 by C-Trayne

There's some continuity lol. Yes, me too. I did realize that in 6.11 Amy suggested she play DND with Sheldon. It's also growth for her that she IS taking interest in what her boyfriend is up to. "The Punisher" and Amy. Continuity it is! I cannot believe Kiru needed to point that out to me.

You are so right. Certain things just shouldn't be swept under the rug. Again, that's the only thing that was missing in this episode: no type of comfort for Sheldon and the guys when they were down and no interaction with the girls when they got home. Bummer... I would love to the girls become at least a little interested in teh guys interests Yeah, I hope they do continue to at least touch on this--it might be fun to see the guys debating with their respective girls about these topics, especially if they disagree about it, or if they disagree about which superheroes they prefer or something along those lines. And Amy had previously dismissed the whole comic book genre in her first visit to the Comic Book Store on New Comic Book night, so maybe she'll venture down there with Sheldon in the future. While I don't see this idea becoming as much of a theme as it has been for the guys, it would be funny to see the girls getting into more of the guys' interests as well. I agree with what has been already said here. :D I daresay that what will end up turning Sheldon on (physically) might have something to do with Amy's newly found comic book/sci-fi interest and knowledge... MJistheBOMB
Another one we missed: After Raj tells the Enterprise car rental joke, he says to the guys, "Screw you! That joke was funny!" LOL. For those of you not clear on the Enterprise joke, I believe their motto is, "...we'll pick you up..." which clearly, the guys needed to be picked up. LOL. koops
I agree though that if we had seen the girls comfort the guys Raj would have felt left out. So all in all, I'm happier this way. Overhearing them talk about comic books cheered all 4 of them up.

MJistheBOMB
BTW, they showed us the Christmas episode and it turned out to be pretty damn good! When the girls model their sexy outfits for the guys.....boyyyy, did they look hot. Melissa has an amazing body, let me tell you. Amy actually had a cute dress on too that stayed within her style boundries of course. BTW, her "model" walk was hilarious. LOL. I like how they took Raj with them for girls night. The sexual innuendos (sp?) he was saying while they played their game. Haha. I felt bad for Sheldon...we got to learn why he is so bitter about Christmas. And Amy should go as Julie Newmar's Catwoman-. Because lately, the writers have been going all fanfiction on us, and because anyone that has read Shamy fanfiction just KNOWS Amy always dresses as that.
