I think it is interesting how the let a thunderstorm blow through the pairings one episode before V-day. But all this moving in together is way too early in my personal opinion. Especially for the Shamy. So I totally agree with Sheldon.

Becomming more and more curious about V-day now!

So do you all think Penny will really let her move in? Because that would be interesting, create a LOT of conflict and be Nuts at the same time!

Thank you for the Episode details. It is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: Spelling and addition.

You know, this is one of those moments where I'm like WTF.

So, we know that in the next episode this stuff is probably all swept under the rug because it's all V-day stuff. But there's literally no resolution for the couples in this one! I totally agree that for Shamy in particular is way too soon to move in together, and I know Sheldon isn't one to vocalize his thoughts, but really we have NO idea why he didn't want her to move in and why he didn't want to tell her. And for Lenny, so in this one we have them arguing over moving in together and in the next one it looks like Leonard is proposing *again*. I mean, WTF? I'm sure maybe it's like Fish Guts and it will make more sense at some point down the line, but at the moment I'm very confused.

I mean, I can totally see why Sheldon is struggling with this. Being the logical person he is, Amy is making flawless arguments why she'd be the perfect roommate so he can't argue logically with something that makes sense. It's definitely a gut feeling that it is all too soon, but he doesn't do "gut feelings" so he doesn't know how to handle it. But I actually feel pretty bad for Amy, she'd better get some confirmation from him that she's important some time soon because I can see how that can be pretty confusing for her, not knowing where she stands. I know BBT doesn't do "serious" that much, if at all, but gosh my heart kind of breaks for her, we needed at least one scene where it gets sorted between them.

eta: LOL. no, Amy is definitely not going to move in with Penny, it's just a throw-away gag.

I don't feel *bad* for Amy, this just confuses the hell outta me.

Next episode is V-Day.....so there is nothing there.....

He BETTER give her the best Valentine's Day after this fiasco. Some emotion and physical contact. If he doesn't she may end up hurt, confused and in the end break it off. (Which is okay as long as it is only for a few hours and he woos her back.)

Thinking.... maybe this is the final hint for V-day. Because we had a very sweet hug before and now have a big fight with some relationship issues and Sheldon sort of backing out a bit again. So Sheldon will have to make up for this and probably knows that. So his efforts may increase to really go a big step towards Amy.

Thanks so much for the report, Kyzzx! Take care, I hope you feel better soon.

Ok, what the.. ? I'm befuddled after reading this report. I know that Sheldon and Penny are probably right in this case, and it's too soon for them to move in together with their SO's, but I can't help thinking of how unhappy and confused this will make Leonard and Amy. :( Also, how are they going to connect this big fight to the V-day episode?

Raj's part sounds funny, but the rest of it more or less reads like pure drama. I'll not comment any further since it's wise in such cases to wait until viewing. Sometimes things play quite differently on screen, given the expressions and visual cues.

I thought it was hilarious! The whole show was a throw-away. It sounds like the writers have been reading some of the Penny's job posts.

Still, you have two reasonably well paid professional men in their thirties living together in an apartment despite having women who are the love of their lives. That's stretching things quite a bit. There are extenuating circumstances. Leonard is still there because Penny is there across the hall and until now, he did not know where he stood with her. Sheldon needs Leonard for transportation and to be his buffer to the outside world.

If Penny gives the word to Leonard, dominoes would fall quickly. Leonard would move in with Penny (he is spending more and more time there) and most likely Penny would have to make a decision about whether she would continue working at the Cheesecake Factory. This season the direction that the writing is going is that Penny would give up her waitress job and there are some signs pointing to this (her declaration that she is terrible at it). Leonard, if he was feeling brave, would point her to being a full-time student and would pay for it. That's a given. I think living at Penny's would be no more that a season before they moved to their own place.

If the writers are feeling bold, there are two ways to handle Sheldon being Leonard-less:

1. Have Leonard living at Penny's solves his transportation problem but when they move out, Amy moves in to Penny's apartment.

2. Have Amy move in with Sheldon, but staying in Leonard's old room. We would have to see more advancement from Sheldon, but that may be coming.

Either way Penny's time at the Cheesecake Factory is very possibly limited.

Not exactly the same (Penny still has her job) but still not that far off. I was reading the thread earlier today and that's why I found the situation so funny.

Upon third read, other things that bug me.

1) "Stupid space movies". Really? We just had one episode where there was finally a connection over the comic books and now we're back to this?

2) "You're a crazy bastard". Jesus Christ, Leonard.

3) Amy having to list out all the reasons why she's good for Sheldon. If that ever happened, I wanted him to realize that for himself.

Meh, seems like some people, the more they read it the more they like it, for me it's the complete opposite. I REALLY hope it plays out differently on screen.

I agree that Penny's time at the Cheesecake Factory is drawing to a close.  Kaley has been lobbying for some sort of change in direction.  If you saw the UK special "It all started with a big bang" KC said she was really getting tired of the uniform.  It's been fairly common knowledge that Kaley has pushed for a) a different job and B) to have Lisa Kurdrow play her mum. I think the job that gives the writers the most comic "grist" for the mill is for KC to become a student.

But that's just my opinion...

Thank you for the reports...I'm too emotionally invested in the show to be blindsided by some major event.  :icon_rolleyes:
