When BBT invades your real life

Do you ever find yourself applying quotes and funny stuff from BBT to your actual life?

I was out of town staying in a hotel last week and I very nearly slipped in the shower/tub on morning. The first thing that popped into my mind was, "Where are the whimsical ducks when you need them?"

Anybody else?

well, my fiancee is a big fan of the show (he's worse than me), and he has established the sheldonian calendar at home regarding food, except for thai food night. Our wi-fi password is "pennygetyourownwifi" and we quote the show a lot all the time to each other.

We also do that with Doctor Who LOL

I do it all the time - so much that it's scary. Every situation seems to remind me of some corresponding TBBT moment or quote, and very often I have to stop myself from spouting dialogues with an effort, because those around me might not be fans!

Speaking of real-life applications. Here's an article about the robotic arm of the Curiosity Mars Rover.

Reminds you of something? :)

Curiosity has finally zapped that rock! it's been looking at it long enough. I think 28 mins to unpack the thai dinner was quick. :icon_cheesygrin:

Back OT, I am a closest nerd. Not many people know my sci-fi, cult nerd tastes (only close friends)

I do...

Because of that, I decided come to the forum and, be a member...

I use to make joke to my friends, using TBBT quotes... some of them don't get it ... and they look at me as a "what the hell are you saying"...

So, I come here, I read a lot, I laught a lot and sometimes I write a little (as much as I can with my poor English)...

Any way... the answer is yes ...

Mom and I were watched the swimming on the Olympics a few weeks ago and she noticed their heads were popping in and out of the water so we kept saying "Bazinga!" every time their heads would pop out of the water. BEST OLYMPICS EVER!!!

One of the first episodes I saw was the one where Sheldon and Leonard's apartment was broken into.

I found myself laughing in misery-loves-company sympathy because shortly before I saw the episode, my apartment had been broken into and my computer stolen.

I could totally relate to SHeldon's asking about when the CSI team was going to come and look for evidence... :icon_wink:

Well... as we speak, my husband is practicing his new deck of M:TG (Warloard of Ka'a?) on the table, I have a group of nerds coming over every Tuesday evening to play D&D. I got talked into being in the Stars Wars campaign on weekends, (I'm the ship's AI). My son thinks he's superman. My daughter thinks she's The Flash (sometimes She-ra). I'm... wearing wonder woman Pjs (No, I'm not kidding). The next birthday party coming up is Star Wars themed. There are custom-built lightsabers in my closet. -And battle-ready swords. There's a suit of armor on the floor in the guest room. I keep picking up dice, and tiny pewter figurines, and transformers...

For me, it's not so much that BBT has invade my life as much as it fit right in. "Nerd meets girl" is the story of my life.

P.S. When the power went out at our house, I was alone upstairs and got nervous and my husband came and rescued me with (yes, seriously) .. a green lantern power ring. That he made himself.

I only feel comfortable eating pizza on Thursdays now, if that's a thing.

My college friends and I played D&D almost every weekend. I still have my character notebook somewhere, along with a pretty good set of dice and a little pewter fighting man...

We played the old-fashioned way with quad paper and a pencil. :icon_cool:

Great. I wish it was available around where I am! Would certainly try Sheldon's favorite.

Moonbase - good point. :D
