Chrystalie Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 A few days ago I lunched by chance in a French restaurant which was decorated train way Orient-Express of the 30s. I was not able to refrain from thinking of Sheldon. Are you in Paris? I saw old trains near of "Institut du Monde Arabe" while I was taking the bus for work and I instantly thought about Sheldon lol I'm so addicted about the show that I'm wondering if that's reasonable lol I often use quotes as "You and me both, brother" and "You can go suck an egg" and Bernie's one "You suck, so hard!" (I'm trying to sound like her lmao) ... the worst part is when I have to translate them in French (and I don't like how it sounds lol) I also use the word "coitus" with my girlfriends. And I have a big crush for someone who is, in his own way, a Sheldon (too bad for me since I like to think I have Amy's personnality mixed with Penny's way of living lol). I rewatch each season of the show, both in French and English, I feel like I'm watching two different shows, sometimes it's nice (since the French voices are not that bad) but I'm not a fan (Some translations really sucks, no wonder TBBT isn't that popular here). I spend too much time reading fanfics, on Instagram, on Twitter and here. I talk too much about TBBT and Mayim around me and no one seems to care :-( And oh ... I'm now a Tumblr addict. And I spend nights of Gifs searching for my posts about Shamy and my countdown for the first taping report. I'm back at work next Monday. I'm not happy lol

I ate in a restaurant near "Grand Boulevard" in Paris which is decorated like if you were inside a train. Yesterday I watched the first episode of the first season with Fench subtitles, and when Howard speaks French, even the French subtitles translation is different. Lol And I remember the first time Sheldon says Bazinga, in French dubbing they translate "you can't catch me". So bad ! Lol Me too I speak to much of BBT, one time or more a week on social networks is already too much for my friends. And I try to restrain myself to mention the show when something reminds me of an episode. One day, a friend sayed me, with exasperation and humor : "Again ?!" I answer "what again? I haven't talked about it for 2 days !" Lol Oh and I agree, this Bernie's quote is fun in English :D but yeah in French it's not really. Â LMAO yes ! for "Bazinga", I know fans of the show (not as much as I am since they waited for the French version to be broadcasted lol) who told me they didn't know where Bazinga came from, then I explained that they translate it ... (I still wonder why ... lol)
ATOB Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 I had a dental appointment this afternoon.  Evidently my dentist's  assistant was wearing vanilla oil today.  I thought of Penny the whole time I was there (not really a bad thing). Does Penny smell of vanilla then? Ha! I used to drown myself in the Body-Shop vanilla oil at high school. My best friend says she can't smell a vanilla candle without getting a flashback to sitting next to me in class. And some lads nick-named me 'playdough' because apparently playdough used to smell like vanilla (I have to take their word for this, we couldn't afford playdough when I was little, cue sad violins) and I had it hollered at me from a passing car when sitting at a bus-stop with my Mum in that gobby football chant way that only English working class boys can truly pull off. Talking of which, I have adapted Sheldon's smile to my own ends. I must walk round with a face like a smacked a#se coz I'm always being told to "cheer up love"! In return I crack a Sheldon smile that's reminiscent of The Bride of Chucky and that usually stops them in their tracks and sends them scuttling away. And it cheers me up too, so mission accomplished all round, s'all good!
ATOB Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Me again! Have had a couple of Sheldonian moments over the Summer. Firstly, I hired an inflatable assault course for my husband's 50th birthday BBQ which had a ball pit in it and was really surprised to see how many people (young and old) copied Sheldon's "bazinga" thing when they landed in it. Secondly, we live in the [email protected] of nowhere and over the long, loooong, school holidays, my teenage daughter's boyfriend 'virtually' moved in, I mean this in an entirely literal sense. Good thing Skyping is free because wherever we went, whatever we did, there he was, a floating head on a screen (I was almost tempted to set a place for him at dinner but we have a 'no electronics at the table' rule). All that was missing was the green lantern T-shirt and wheels. Now they're back at school it's calmed down some (she only spends about an hour a night Skyping him). Is it weird that I kind of miss him?
Bella Duveen Posted September 5, 2014 Posted September 5, 2014 Thing, I think Sheldon's virtual presence is the funniest episode of all! And how cool was it with the ball pool - love it!
Rae Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 When I'm walking up the stairs to and from classes, I sometimes sing Sheldon's "The Stars That Are Nearest to Me" song. Sometimes in my head, sometimes out loud.
Bella Duveen Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 My friend's 16 year old son, who is a Big Bang fan, has just got a new girlfriend, and when he posted it on Facebook, I posted him a message saying 'Remember, hand holding is only allowed under the following circumstances...!' Rae Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 I'm perusing my Western Civ textbook right now, the Archaic Age, and they just brought up the agora. I can't help but read it in Sheldon's voice, and think of him lecturing Penny, "It's a WARM night in Ancient Greece! You've just finished your shopping at the local market, or agora..." EvilStewie Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 My cell ringtone is " Oh, Its a tiara" and my notification tone is " Amy I've never been touched like this before" Â That one gets looks, but I SO do not care!

madamocho Posted September 29, 2014 Posted September 29, 2014 When I was learning the physics behind CT and MRI machines, I read the course work in Sheldon's voice in my head. "What is physics? Rae Posted October 4, 2014 Posted October 4, 2014 The woman whose boys I babysit for just adopted a dog from Iraq. He only has three legs, and he's the sweetest. But guess what his name is? Raj! I can't tell you how amusing it is to catch myself saying, "Raj, don't sniff my butt," or "Raj, no biting!" Lol.
phantagrae Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Those who follow Jim on IG might know that his name was in the NYT crossword puzzle on the 29th, I believe. Well that puzzle runs in my paper a week later, so I worked it the other day and there were some other interesting clues as well. "Parsons of The Big Bang Theory": Jim "Shiny topper": Tiara "Introduction to science?": Neuro It's almost as if someone had Big Bang on the brain... Bella Duveen Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 One for all the Shamies/Lennies out there: The first thing you do when you wake up in the morning is check on the progress of a fictional relationship. Other things: You have named one of your daughter's dolls Penny and the smaller one Bernie. You would buy an Amy cardigan is only you knew where to find one

Tensor Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 We did a rescue on a whole litter, and from that we have Zazzles and Penny. Our most recent rescues are named Frodo and Bilbo, but that has more to do with me and my nerdish tendencies, than it does with TBBT.
