Why do so many girls like Leonard?

My main puzzlement about BBT is why Leonard gets so many girls. He's short, has unfashionable glasses, and frowns a lot. And yet he "scored" with Penny, Priya (Raj's beautiful sister), the boring doctor, and even some older woman he didn't even like. Am I missing something?

I'm a straight man and can only say so much.

because he's cute, despite being short and having unfashionable glasses, and he actually smiles quite a bit. He also has a kind heart, a witty sense of humor, and a generally pleasant personality. And as Jules once observed, "personality goes a long way."

Because believe it or not, we're teaching our daughters that the guys who know the difference between a T-Rex and hippo, plays with action figures and can recite the Periodic Table are going to be way better fathers for their kids... compared to the bad boys who are usually on the run from mulitple child support payments... LOL

I thought that the other day when watching Season 5 DVDs- when Leonard asks Penny dating/cheating advice because he was dating Priya & had that "cute girl from the comic book store" hitting on him. (then a few episodes later, he & Penny get back together!) I thought, "well there's a change to the Leonard we first met in Season 1." I'm not referring to his looks or style though... I'm talking about personality/nerdiness. :)

I don't think Leonard is at all attractive.

My signature.

Your argument is invalid. :p

Well actually, technically my sig is of JOHNNY, where-as Leonard is a character. But also technically speaking they are the same exact physical person. It's the way they dress and present the character that I think turns some women off from Leonard.

Everyone knows that he would get allot more women if he were tall, well muscled, treated women like crap, and was dumb as a brick. Just perhaps the show is trying to paint some of the women on the show as being deeper then just going by a persons looks and actually put more importance on an individuals personality and actions. That seems to be what the show is doing with Penny. At first all she was interested in a man was his looks regardless of how he treated her or how stupid he was. Then slowly she became attracted to Leonard....

I really hope you're not trying to say Penny is deeper than most women. lol I seriously do not want to have one of those "nice guys finish last" arguments again. That is so over-used, and under-applicable.

I think it's that he is smart and nerdy at times, but he also is more in touch with others moreso than the others. Well, we know that Sheldon can't relate to his fellow humans much at all. Howard, has gotten better, but was a bit perverted, Raj, can't talk to women unless he's drunk. Leonard by far out of the lot of them is much more a "regular guy".
