When Sheldon Show's His Feelings

Recommended Posts

Talking in non romantic terms. I like seeing Sheldon expressing anger or him being upset because you don't normally see him have a hissy fit. :) What do you think?

"Ill tell you what's making Sheldon cry, that I let you name him Sheldon!!"

"Not my fault every round here is dumber than a bag of rocks"

I love it when he cries and acts and Penny rings up his mum "I think I broke your son" lol :) When Sheldon does impressions of his mum and dad its so funny! Then Leonard and Penny buy him a robot and comic at the end because they kept fighting. (another example of Sheldon and Penny's relationship mother/son leonard dad/son in that episode) :p

I think his words to Penny, 'please don't hurt my friend' in this episode, was also an example of his showing feeling, even if it wasn't an outburst. It was the sincerest sentiment of care and concern for a friend that the so-called 'emotionless robot' has ever expressed.

This is the Sheldon I love.

That scene where he is intimidating his parents is so funny but sad at the same time.

Honey, you mean imitating? That's one of my favorite Sheldon breakdowns.

Sheldon was a character of science and knowledge. Emotions evaded him and that is what made him so interesting. Adding "emotion" to Sheldon eleminates his original purpose - to be a character of science and knowledge. Slowing turning him into a routine common sitcom body.

^^ Lady-Geek, I think your over thinking it slightly. Sheldon gets angry, upset, excited and seeing new emotions makes it even more interesting. :)

Sheldon has never been cold and without emotions. No matter how much he claims to be so.

Exactly--he laughs, he cries, he yells, he rants, he loves (in his own way, as with everything.)

I think the whole comedic basis of Sheldon's character has always been that he THINKS or LIKES TO BELIEVE he is a creature of pure science and rationality and knowledge, but again and again from his behaviour we see that he's extremely prone to emotion and 'human weaknesses' like jealousy, fear and even emotional attachment (to Leonard, to his mom, to his Meemaw, to his hobbies, even before Amy came into the picture). The fact that he doesn't know how to explain or process such impulses, and therefore is often completely childlike about it, is what leads to his being hilarious as well as intriguing.

I find it funny, when he says "I have no emotions". So cute. It makes him different.

I agree. He is unique, different and should continue to be that way. He's Sheldon.

Emotion is in quotes. Leaving emotion to be used loosely. I should have put quotes around both.

What does that mean, exactly?
