steveng01 Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Dear series writers ... I am hoping that Howard, once returned to Earth, is awarded an Honorary Doctorate for his work on the Space station … finally making him a doctor, thus giving poor Sheldon one or two ‘issues’ … Just a thought :-)

Katiekins Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 this would be cool, although I don't think the writers read this forum, mabye send them a tweet
Im_not_crazy Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Howard deserves it, but personally I quite like it when Sheldon teases Howard for not having a doctorate
wayelrob Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 (edited) It would shock me if anyone remotely connected to the show has ever been in this forum, let alone the writers. I think Sheldon would ridicule Howard more for having an honorary Phd. Edited October 7, 2012 by wayelrob
DPK Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 For all practical purposes Howard really doesn't need a doctorate for his profession.
Moonbase Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Yeah, and he gets teases by everyone, not just Sheldon. Even his mum has done it. If he gets a doctorate that's another standard gag removed from his repertoire.
SydNC Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 The comic fodder this would provide would be awesome. Every time Sheldon would introduce Howard to someone, he can do the whole "This is my friend (finger quotes) 'Doctor' Wolowitz. But you can just call him Howard." Guest I'm not dead Cheryl Posted October 9, 2012 Posted October 9, 2012 an honorary PhD is not a real PhD. He would get mocked anyway
MJistheBOMB Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 (edited) Maybe be the end of the show he'll finally get one and say to them all, "I'm DOCTOR Wolowitz now, bitches!" LOL! phantagrae Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 When I was finishing my Masters, people would ask me if I was going to go on and get my PhD, and I would say, "No! Seven years of school is enough!" But for my profession, a Masters is plenty. There are some PhDs, but most of them are either academics, or they play and teach (PhDs come in handy when applying for a teaching position.) Since all I really wanted to do was play, a MM was plenty.
netmouse Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 <true story> My Aunty got a Doctorate last year for basically googling and regurgitating the poetry of Robert Burns. They flew her to Scotland for a presentation ffs. My dad now calls her Doctor Google. Which is absolutely hilarious given her maiden name is Dougal. tl; dr : Anything is possible.
