Things I'd Like To See Penny Do

I like the thread Bazingafan started for Sheldon about all things we'd like to see Sheldon do again, but it made me think of some I'd really like to see Penny do too.

I like for Penny to make up her damn mind about her relationship with Leonard already and stop pussyfooting around with him.

I like Penny stop drinking so damn much or at least attend an AA meeting already.

I like more Penny, Bernadette, Amy and Sheldon all together scenes like in Agreement Dissection when they had a "girls" night and went dancing and drinking.

I like for Penny to say "I love you Leonard and actually mean it!! Along with saying " Yes, Leonard I will marry you and have babies with you as long as you agree that in case of a divorce we both share custody of Sheldon."

I like for Penny to finally get a real acting job and have Sheldon freak out on her about the new waitress serving his cheeseburger at the Cheesecake factory.

I'd like for Penny to have a fun dream episode that goes back in time to when she first met Leonard and Sheldon in the pilot. Only it switches the storyline around in the dream to what would have happened if Sheldon had asked her out first instead of Leonard and they ended up in a back in forth will they wont they relationship instead.

(I like Shenny as friends, but not as a couple. As a couple I much prefer Shamy for several reasons, but I think the writers owe the Shenny fans some love since they've stuck around so long so give them their chance to see a episode where Penny and Sheldon are a real couple so they can see for themselves how it would so not work out for those two to be a real couple either, but also still be really funny episode and give them lots of Shenny moments to cherish forever lol) I also think it help everyone finally see why Shamy works so well as a real couple and why Penny and Sheldon work so much better as bro/sis/friends instead when Penny wakes up from her dream/nightmare.

I'd like to see Penny do something nice for someone else without having an agenda or some sort of personal gain reason behind it like the time she tried to donate clothes. I'd like to see Penny actually mature and be a smarter, sweeter person and make me remember why I like her character.

I'd like to meet more of Penny's family members i.e. her mom, her meth brother and perhaps the sister who shot her husband.

I wanna see:

- Penny getting an acting job a really good one (not something small like in Season 5 Episode 1)

- getting away from the Cheesecake Factory (and like the thread opener wrote see Sheldon freaking out that there is a new waitress)

- going to a karaoke bar with Leonard and singing a song together that would be funny

- I wanna see Pennys mom

- I would love to see a flashback from Penny in Nebraska (as a teenager or child)

- Pennys dad can come back he´s so cool

- Penny has to tell Leonard that she loves him! And she really has to mean it 100%. And she has to be 100% sober during that!

- Penny should really drink less alcohol

- Penny can go shoppping with Howards mother :icon_mrgreen:

I want to see Penny

decide what she really wants in life

attend college to improve herself

get some acting work (even a little community theatre)

be a proper girlfriend to Leonard and deserve his love

stop thinking that she is the hottest girl on the planet

She's a mess, has been for the whole show but somehow is getting worse. The worst part is she doesn't try to better herself. I do think Leonard was a bit pushy on the whole college thing in the beginning of season 2. But I would like to see her attempt it. As a current college student I have found the grades to be overrated but I have learned many different things. I see the whole world different then when I first entered school.

She's not that good of an actress as we have seen.

Is it just me or does she look heavier from all the drinking then when the show started?

As for Shenny I just don't see it. It has a lot more to do with Sheldon than her though. I think he could deal fine if it was himk with her in the current Leonard like relationship. But his snarky attitude and all his little weird must oddities would grow on her nerves.

-I want Penny to give Leonard equal rights in the relationship. For instance its always Leonard who plans the dates and pays for it and stuff, Penny should make more of an effort in these kinds of things. I want her to at least show appreciation and respect. It is absolutely heart breaking to see such a sweet guy such as Leonard not getting any respect or care.

-I want Penny to do things for Leonard and try to impress him

Let's see Penny tell Leonard she loves him and then he dumps her. Leonard has become much more self-assured and is capable of this now, not so much in previous seasons.

Also, Penny is easy to dislike. She appears to have no measurable talent other than bullying and drinking. However, let's see that turn around by developing the character so that we can see why she is this way, i.e. unresolved mother issues that leads to a lack of commitment.

I don't know about AA meetings but I could definately do with them cutting back on the amount of drinking they show her engaging in.

In a word...NO. I don't want to see anything that is going to possibly fuel the fires on Shenny and give it any kind of legitimacy. Doing this would actually support the idea that Penny has some underlying attraction/romantic feelings for Sheldon and would completely go against how her character has viewed Sheldon.

I disagree here. The writers don't owe the viewing audience anything little alone a small minority of those viewers. Besides that I'd say a most of the reasonable viewing audience knows why Shamy works well...considering that Shamy is probably the most popular pairing on the show right now and probably hasn't even considered the notion that there are any people out there who really believe that Sheldon/Penny would make a good romance.

The problem is that dreams, especially ones of that kind of nature are often interpreted as an subconscious desires or fears that are trying to make their way to the conscious surface. Given that there's been no hint that Penny harbors any kind of sexual or emotional attraction to Sheldon or vise versa it would make no sense for either character to have that kind of dream.

The writers should only be focusing there efforts on the relationships for which they've laid the foundations for. Throwing every ship a bone will only cause unnecessary strife and would only serve to undermine what they are trying to do with both Sheldon/Amy and Leoanrd/Penny. I remember the shipper wars of Smallville yore where the writers were throwing every ship a bone. It was knightmare navagating various fan forums for that show without pissing contests erupting between the Clana's, Chlarkers, and Cloisers. As obnoxious as the Shenny shippers are now, what do you thinik would happen were the writers to actually give them something of substance, even if it completely went against what the show has established?

I say let the Shenny shippers have their fan fic and lets keep it at that.

Hmm, I'd like to see Penny get a cool job with the Syfy channel; maybe have a fling with Wil Wheaton, have another great comedic episode with Sheldon like the brilliant 'The Gorilla Experiment"; definitely a dream Shenny sequence I could see Kaley & Jim doing a black & white musical, maybe 'Destry Rides Again' they both have such comedic talent.
