Kyzzx Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 So, I decided I don't like that the guys can pretty much just fly anywhere on a whim. Like when Sheldon goes back to Texas and instead of doing what NORMAL people do (calling their friend and trying to rationalize) they just all have the money/time to fly to Texas for one day. That, no... no one does that. Haha.

He earns an income of $ 160,000 a years and is vested to recieve that the rest of his life. They might not make the same money as Industry might pay but. My point is the Boys are nerd who live on a 46% of their income and spend that on Comic books. WHY WOULDN'T THEY AFFORD TO TRAVEL ANYWHERE??? . Fruit Loop Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Not true, loads of people I know eat a lot and never work out and they are thin. They just have a high metabolism. Hello I am one of those people. At 5' 5" tall I am only 135 pounds and I eat like a horse. BTW I am also a senior citizen which means my metabolism has slowed down with age. I no longer care if I am a few pounds over weight because of my age. However I was a professional Gymnasts and Acrobat as a young man and have a higher percentage of Muscle mass to fat than non athletes. . Pomita Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 Tensor - PM received. Sorry am a little pressed for time, will get to replying soon. Mind you, in the last season Sheldon does have a bit of a belly, if you noticed. So he is getting there, albeit slowly! It's gone again now, Jim lost weight over the hiatus. I've seen some people eat a lot and never gain weight.. just one of the infuriating facts of life!

So their going to pick him up was probably all they could do to show they cared and were sorry.
Moonbase Posted November 5, 2012 Posted November 5, 2012 (edited) I used to be one of those people, didn't put on a pound until after 30. It was quite a shock when that started to change and one day I noticed a belly. I take it easy now, less junk, more exercise. MJistheBOMB Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 Well, there's really a Cheesecake Factory in Pasadena, California. LOL. Someone posted a picture of an amazing looking piece of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory that made me want to look up one near me since I've never been and low and behold, there's one in Pasadena. LOL. That would be a cool spot for a BBT fan meet up, actually :-) Monique

I've seen some people eat a lot and never gain weight.. just one of the infuriating facts of life! Yes, it is highly annoying. My brother for example never gains weight, while I have already a bit of a middle age belly despite trying to exercise and watch my diet. So infuriating! I suppose sheldon uses so much energy in thinking and for that reason does not gain weight. But how about Leonard's muscles for unreality? I mean he is ripped and when does go to gym??? Pellegraapus Posted November 6, 2012 Posted November 6, 2012 I figured this question could be included in this thread (and I didn't want to start a new thread for just this one question: Have we ever seen Jim/Sheldon actually eat with chopsticks (or any of the charcters)?? I was just watching the Alien Parasite ep where Sheldon is eating lunch with Amy and he's holding chopsticks, but as I watched the scene I realized that he wasn't holding them properly and he was kind of just poking around on his plate with them. So, first of all I figure that in this particular scene there really isn't time for him to put food in his mouth with all the talking. But it made me wonder about other chopstick scenes. We often see him taking up chopsticks as they sit down to eat Chinese or Asian foods, but I can't remember seeing him actually lift food into his mouth with chopsticks. We did actually see him eat with the chop sticks in season 3 The Vegas Renormalization, when the other guys are leaving for Las Vegas and Sheldon decides to stay at home. That's the only instance I remember off the top of my head.

MJistheBOMB Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 I always thought it was amazing how Sheldon ACTUALLY looked like he hadn't slept in days in that one episode where he was stumped with his physics formula. It's amazing what make-up can do to get that across. As for his stubble, I don't know if that was make-up or if they told him not to shave for a few days before taping. LOL. Either way, it was cool :-). Monique

MJistheBOMB Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Aw. That is a cute idea, actually. Yeah, I like it too :-). Maybe we'll all have to set it up sometime in the future and if they have a party room or even some kind of access to plasma screens, we already know what we can watch while everyone gets to know each other LOL. And the makeup in the ep where he had to make the speech--his "morning after" look was great, the way his face looked all puffy around his eyes. AndI loved his bed-head! Pomita Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Indeed. Also, he looks hot with the overnight stubble. Ah, now I need a visa (and a lot of money) for meeting up with y'all at the Cheesecake Factory! And how about a taping afterwards? Pomita Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Re ripped Sheldon and Leonard.. they might have to append apartment 4A with a secret gym pretty soon. Which they both use without letting each other know.
Sherminator Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 What about how the people never take their shoes off when they enter somebody's apartment!!! they just walk around with their derty shoes on. Okay, it would slow down the action if they had to take off and put on shoes every time they came and went, but it's till rather unrealistic... Just think about all that sweat the shoes will gather in them when worn indoors. Urgh!
LoveShamy Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Just thought I add as someone mentioned about they way they make the characters look. When a character is ill it looks so real! or that time Penny became obsessed with the barbarian game and she looked so messy and tired and defiantly hooked! :D

In mostly US programmes, they never seem to take their shoes off.. in UK programmes when some one is sat in their house they don't have shoes on. ?? Okay, it would slow down the action if they had to take off and put on shoes every time they came and went, but it's till rather unrealistic... Just think about all that sweat the shoes will gather in them when worn indoors. Urgh! Most people in the US do not take their shoes off when they walk in. While many people may take off their shoes right as they enter and may ask their guests to do the same, most people wear their shoes until they're ready to settle down for the night, put on their comfy clothes, etc. For me, I take off my shoes when I change into my pajamas or knocking-around-the-house clothes. When I do that will vary according to what I'm doing. I have a student who comes over once a week for a lesson. I usually do not change clothes or take off my shoes until after he leaves. But there's no general consensus as to when one should take off their shoes. And of course, for the purposes of most TV shows, taking off and putting on shoes is just too distracting and time consuming unless it serves a specific purpose within the scene. On TBBT, you have people coming and going from the apartments, so it makes sense for people to keep their shoes on. It never struck me as odd at all. I am, however, continued to be mystified by the guys wearing socks to bed...
