Tensor Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 [quote name="phantagrae" post="73774" timestamp="1354897492"] I am, however, continued to be mystified by the guys wearing socks to bed...
phantagrae Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Not sure why that is a mystery. Our floors, here in Florida are wood and tile and they can be pretty chilly in the morning, even in the summer. I prefer them simply because I don't have to worry about putting on or taking off slippers. But there is some weird thing that they've done on purpose with both Howard and Leonard. There will be a scene where they've had sex with their respective partners and the guy will be lying there in bed under the covers except for one leg, which is purposefully exposed and he'll be wearing a sock... Leonard obviously sleeps with his socks on (which I think is gross and bad for one's feet), so whenever he is going to bed or getting up from bed, he's got those white socks on. But would he really keep his socks on for sex? And then stick the one leg out? And Howard has been shown getting into bed without socks, but there was still at least one episode where he did that exposed leg with a sock thing. I'm not sure if Sheldon wears socks to bed--I think he's wearing socks in the Bozeman episode, when he gets in and out of bed to move the dresser and to then climb out the window. But he always wears slippers when he's in his pajamas, so it's not as obvious. And Penny never seems to wear socks to bed.
sjgranic Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 If you do want to see an example of most of them eating a lot take another look at the episode in which Raj, Howard and Leonard go to watch the meteorite and Sheldon helps Penny after her flu in the bath. The three boys are in the desert and Howard has scored them some hash cookies, and the three of them are shown making real pigs of themselves, stuffing food in their mouths etc. I personally don't feel the need to see them eating, especially as Leonard always talks with food in his mouth and he and Howard eat with their mouths open. No manners.

No manners. Um, the point of those eating scenes was that they had the munchies after having eaten the spiked cookies--that's why they were eating so ravenously. They didn't seem to understand what had happened to them or why they were hungry and they were obviously somewhat impaired in that they couldn't remember that they had already looked for pudding cups, etc.
scifi_boy2002 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 My pet peeve about realism: Sheldon is way too thin! I mean sheldon never exercises, and he eats a lot of fast food and drinks a lot of lemonade. -in real life person like him would now be very obese and diabetic. Mind you, in the last season Sheldon does have a bit of a belly, if you noticed. So he is getting there, albeit slowly! There are real people like that. I work with a guy who is about the skinniest person I know and he eats nothing but junk food. He doesn't gain a pound. However, I even look at junk food I gain a pound.
