Hey, I have Sheldon's tea pot. :)

The scene with the girls, and Penny's shallowness and utter disinterest in anything Leonard does (really? after all this time?!) coupled with her incredibly immature expectation that boyfriends exist solely to please their girlfriends (really? after all this time?!), was really disappointing, so the scenes in the lab give me hope that she's finally figuring out what she has in Leonard. I sometimes forget how smart Leonard is, too. ;) And it was fantastic to see him talking about his job, and just science in general.

Loved the costumes. Amy was cute tonight, loved her "gave him a come-hither look and he lectured me about wheat" line.

Not the funniest one I've seen, but I enjoyed it.

side note: Chuck Lorre's end card was pretty interesting. "Sure, I see inefficiency and incompetence, but I've always seen that - regardless of which party's in office. And frankly, I've always welcomed it. I don't like my big bureaucracies to be cold, calculating, profit-making enterprises driven by a steely clear-headed singular vision. A cursory glance through history would indicate that well-organized governments tend to enjoy well-organized parades, followed by well-organized ethnic cleansing. Which is why I celebrate the magnificent, muddle-headed ineptitude of our democracy. As far as I'm concerned, a little confusion and waste may keep the trains from running on time, but it also keeps people like me from getting a one-way ticket in a cattle car."

Yow!

This season is like they have taken us in a time machine and are giving us what season four SHOULD have been.

Well you are certainly correct about that. Season 4 was like a wasted season IMO. However, they certainly are making up for it this year.. Very well done!! :)

Penny's character is the worst.

She 'often forgets' how smart Lenoard is and all Leonard has to do is show her a little science experiment he does every day and she jumps him like she jumps every boyfriend she's had before. Whoop-ti-doo.

Leonard already got plenty of sex from Penny for doing much less. In fact Penny would do him after he made her angry. She gives it away super easy. So that's what the Penny character has become. A gilfriend who loves exuses to have sex. Her character is not much deeper than that.

ASIDE FROM THAT ...

This episode was decent. The parts with Sheldon and Amy were cute and witty. The part with Raj planning party was fine as well. Also Howard bringing up his space experience often with everyone was good. I didn't like the Smurf costumes at all but whatever.

This episode for me was one step forward and one step back.

If they just got rid of Leonard and Penny the show would be a lot better.

Penny's facial expression toward Leonard after he showed her the hologram was pure love and admiration. It was amazing! Then Amy's look toward Sheldon when he told her couples costumes was the best part of being a couple was priceless! H/B in the bedroom was great! Everyone just nailed it! There was something for every shipper. I can't see how anyone can complain about this episode!

Loved Howard's impersonation of Bernadette. Penny seemed a little "strange" in this one, at the beginning in the Cheesecake Factory she was Season 5 Penny all over again, and didn't she learn what Leonard did back in Season 4? I understand the premise of this was to show that she actually found Leonard sexier because she remembered that he was actually a scientist, but still she seemed very very clueless in this episode. I did also notice that she wiped her mouth when Leonard kissed her in the lab, involuntary action? Was great to see Raj back, he his getting more airtime this season so far and I am really happy about that. The scene with the menu's was like old time TBBT, loved it. Amy and Sheldon are just getting funnier and funnier together. And I was happy to remember that Leonard is smart!

While this is true, tonight's episode felt different - I think since Penny had never seen him in action, and seen some of the very cool results that scientific experimentation can produce, she gained a new appreciation for both what he does and who he is. At least, that's how I'm interpreting it. :)

I don't think that Penny was really disinterested in Leonard's work as much as it truly was just incomprehensible to her. Back when she tried to have Sheldon teach her about physics, she was making an effort and still wasn't really able to learn more than just essentially memorizing something that was obviously Sheldon's opinion of Leonard's work.

I think that Penny's idea of what a boyfriend's job is, etc., is not necessarily an uncommon one in certain circles. People joke along these lines all the time, like when people say, "If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy" or "If she says jump, you say, 'how high?'"

Yeah it's one-sided and silly, but that's kind of how they were playing it.

Anyway, I think that it's not that Penny doesn't care, but that she's used to not having to put that much effort into things. I do think that it's good, and appropriate, that the girls are giving her some serious advice about putting in some effort and she obviously takes it to heart.

The fact that it leads to Lab!Sex doesn't mean that she's just after his body, but that, IMO, she's finding his intelligence attractive and makes him desirable to her. I think it's clear that she's never been attracted to him for his body alone, or just as a sex object. I think she truly loves him for who he is and these trips to the lab just underscore that.

I want Sheldon's tea box...

I really enjoyed this episode :-). The scene with Leonard and Penny together in the lab was especially special to me :-). It's a real treat to see ANY of the guys at work doing what they love. It was so nice to see him talking about the things he's so passionate about and Penny appreciating it. As said by others, pretty much everyone kicked ass in this episode.

Great episode! :) Love love loved all the costumes!! This Halloween my best friend and I are going as Mario and Luigi for a party so seeing all costumes in this episode was really fun. Is it just me or does anyone else love Bernadettes adorable sexy little mini nightgowns she looks really good in them and I actually like her wardrobe in general best out of show. I actually thought the Smurf costumes were so cute. Love how Bernadette can go from being sweet and adorable miss Mary Poppins type to tough and in charge chica who knows how to tell a random couple to get the hell out lol. Seriously, I loved her a lot in this one.

Howard was starting to annoying me though with all the space talk. I know that was the point for his character this week and actually felt sorry for him last week when no one cared about his retun, but he was being such a BABY!! I stopped feeling sorry for him all together and kinda wanted to smack him. I was also like yelling at the screen SHUT UP YOUR RUINING GETTING LAID YOU IDIOT lol!! The old pervy Howard who needed Lisa the robot to keep him happy would kick the new Howard's ass for ruining a chance at hot sex with his hot wife by talking so much lol. Space is cool, but come on dude its not the end of the world....haha see what I just did there ;)

Shamy was absolutely adorable as always and love how Sheldon offered Amy tea and compromised by wearing that ridiculous Raggedy Ann wig. I doubt most grown men would let their girlfriends talk them into being Raggedy Andy for Halloween no matter how much they loved them. Haha loved Sheldon's comment about what's a hickie though! I wonder if Amy actually told him what it meant, I don't think she did. Loved his honesty towards Howard's about the space talk and his looks everytime Leonard came in saying "Hello Boys" xD. But I wish they would stop having the girls put down nerd pop culture iconic stuff like Penny about Magneto from X-men or Amy about Star Wars.

I mean i'm not saying the girls should all have to be fans of that stuff cause I know that a lot of girls aren't and I'm not even a comic book geek or huge Star wars fans myself, but I think it makes them look like they're insulting their boyfriends tastes, as well as the tastes of a lot of fans who do watch the show just to turn them into the guys they want them to be. Vice versa I don't think necessarily they should make Penny and Amy change so much just to accomodate the guys nerd tastes either.

I like Penny as a non-nerd she is the girl next door and thats what made me like her in first place and Amy as smart girl who love biology is great, but Amy didn't like it when Sheldon use to make fun of biology and act like it was not a real science so she shouldn't put down his love of Star wars or comic books. Whatever nerdy stuff the boys are into should be okay and vice versa with their interests. Compromise is a two way street afterall.

(But yeah to Mayim for getting her cast off I finally saw both her hands tonight when she was in costume.)

As for Penny its great that she's finally taking an interest in science, though really she still makes everything about sex so not much growth there. What she said about it being his job to make her happy and it being only her job to let him was so STUPID!! I wish they stop making Penny look so vapid and shallow and dumb just because its too stereotype the dumb blonde and don't get me wrong Kaley does a really good job playing that role, but there is more should be more to her than sex and dumb blonde jokes. Hopefully her visiting Leonard at work will educate her and I actually like to see the couples visiting each other at work more often. I want learn more about Bernadette's job now too and see Howard come visit her at work like how Sheldon went to visit with Amy on his vacation. I also think it be cute to see Stuart visiting the guys at work cause we never see him in their work environment, but they are always in his at the comic book store.

Glad they showed Stuart talking to a girl and had Raj being drinking during the party with all those ladies there?? Also, where did all girls come from last time they had a party for New Years eve at comic book store Penny was only girl there, now there's all these hot chicks roaming around lol. Did Penny invite her friends or did Stuart make a call to an escort service lol.

Anyway, solid episode that I will watch again so keep them coming. :) OH AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

Before I even read any of the comments on this episode I just would like to express my opinion here. SCORRRRRRRRRRRE!!!! What a great episode! The Leonard and Penny scences DOMINATED the show tonight! YEAH!!! It's about time the writers pulled off an episode without either Penny or Leonard insulting or arguing with one another. The science lab scene was BRILLIANT! It was the perfect blend of science and romance. Anyone who would disagree with me can disapear off into my halographic universe! The Sheldon and Amy costume compromise was spot on good also.

Epically unfunny episode. The writers managed to make all Leonard's neat lab equipment and Halloween excruciatingly dull; now that takes effort. I only had a semi-laugh over 'Indian Jones' that was clever. Sheldon and Amy were painful; wouldn't it have occurred to her to go as Spock and T'Pring. Penny came off dumb and cheap. Howard and Bernadette are given way too much time. Raj & Stuart were a recycle; Leonard actually made the holographs boring.

I wanted to laugh at Buzz Aldrin but had nothing.

That was a very good statement you made on explaining Penny's character. Although I mentioned in my comment on the episode that it was a good blend of science and romance, she does need to brush up on her aggressiveness. That is so true that she DOES find his intelligence as something very significant to her attraction towards him. I am also looking forward to her entering college and hopefully it becomes beneficial to her future and to better her relationship with Leonard.

The lab scene with Leonard and Penny was well done and it showcased that these two can really be fun to watch together when the writers don't bog their scenes down with relationship melodrama. Although I will agree that Penny is still relying way too much on sex when it comes to the relationship. The look a admiration and I'll say it...love when Leonard was waxing poetic on string theory was very nice to see and I'd say probably the first time since the snow flake scene from season three where she really seemed to appreciate that intellectual side of him.

The Howard and Bernadette stuff was pretty good. Seeing them as Smurfs was pretty amusing. I do kinda feel sorry for Simon and Melissa though because getting all that blue make up on and off must have been a pain.

Sheldon and Amy were fine as well. I got little chuckle out of their compromise.

Raj was fine. I still liked Stuart a lot more when he actually had some confidence. The overtly self deprecating sadsack thing is going to be just as irratating as Raj's selective mutism.

Overall a fairly enjoyable episode.

I thought it was a really good episode that advanced all of the couples. It was sweet and fun. I also loved that it was a Halloween episode. Really enjoyed seeing L/P enjoying each other. That was a great change of pace.

Last week Howard came home from space and nobody cared, this week he wasn't even allowed to talk about his adventure - seems strange that after 5 years of talking about sci-fi stuff, that when one of the gang actually does get to go into space, all of his friends act like it was no big deal - Howard is my least favorite character on the show, and even I feel bad for him.

It's not really a funny episode but for the emo ones, it's fairly touching. Even the EW contributors think so.

If you choose to look at two characters as irritating, you'd see them irritating. But if you would look at them in another light, then you won't really find them as such.

Like with L/P, I find them irritating but for this episode I tried to forget about how I found their relationship tedious and thought they're really sweet. And I love that Leonard's kind of happy for a change. :D

the last two episodes have been the best in the series so far I think. I loved the interaction between all of the couples, and Raj was his usual funny self :)

For me this season is getting better each episode, they're starting to actually make the show scientific and geeky again and not just have it as a dramatic romance show which they've been doing. Leonard discussing that the Universe might be a holograph with a storyline, the giant electromagnet, c3p0, comic book store party... yep the show's definitely getting back on track. I actually found Leonard's discussion about the Universe possibly being a hologram with a written storyline eerily meaningful. The last scene showing Buzz Aldrin as an egocentric nut telling kids they're inferior was outrageously hilarious. Also did anyone get the Doctor Who reference? The only thing that annoyed me was the way Penny was acting dumb early on in the episode.

My initial thought during this weeks episode was "the writers are throwing in a heap of science to keep the 'we want more science' fanbase happy this week" but thankfully, they managed to work it into the storyline extremely well via the Leonard/Penny dynamic.

I was pleasantly surprised.

Knowing that Mayim has hurt has hand has led me to stare at her off screen arm every episode now >< sigh :)

Giggled at Howard the Smurf. Loving Simon Helberg this season. He's doing a great job.

One for the tech geeks, does Leonard's hologram tech actually exist, or was it simply CGI for the effect ??

I thought that this was the best episode of the season. I especially liked the interaction between Penny and Leonard. In the Cheese cake factory scene Penny first expressed her attitude towards their relationship (he does everything for me and I let him), then she informed the girls that she really didn't know what Leonard did. I think she knew the title of his job, she she didn't understand what it entailed. When she finally went to his lab and he showed her, she was entranced. I think for the first time she really respected him and what he did. She realized that what he did was both "cool" and to a certain extent, artistic. From her point of view what Leonard did was way cooler then what Sheldon did. After that she didn't seem able to keep her hand off of him.

The other thing that really cracked me up was Howard imitating Bernadette. It was great!

All in all a very good episode although on a side note, it was not a good episode for the Shenny advocates. Not that there was any chance of Penny having romantic feelings for Sheldon before, after this I don't think that she will have strong feelings for anyone else except Leonard.

I'm not sure how I feel about this one yet. I liked it, but just chuckled a few times. After last week, I guess it was a little letdown for me. I will watch again and see what I think.

I really liked the things leonard did in his lab, and the shamy part was cute (I like amy asserting herself for what she wanted).

The "girls night" part was a little forced to me. For some reason penny just doesn't seem to be in character anymore, is it just me? I think that is what bothered me some in this episode. Penny is just being too mean, or bully-like for me this season. And, why could they not bring up that penny tried to learn physics before? She could have said that she tried to understand his job before, but failed. I hate it when they bring something up that has already been explored before, and then fail to mention it.

P.S. -- something I noticed last night. Remember how sheldon used to do his "double takes"? Like when someone would say something that he didn't agree with, or that he thought was dumb, he would turn his head really fast and give them a look? he did this a lot in the early seasons. I noticed him doing that again last night. One thing I like about season 6 is that they seem to be bringing some of the old sheldon characteristics back again.

Haven't seen the whole episode yet(The World Series was on)

Felt kind of bad about Howard though, nobody has even asked him about space.

The Smurfs costume idea rocked.

Lenoard looked like a complete tool everytime he met the guys at the lunch table.

All in all from what I saw last night I can't wait to get home and watch the whole episode.

I guess we are supposed to assume that they had a coming home party for howard already on the next night after the last episode. But I agree, it would be better not to have to assume this.
