And Sheldon's part was like to tell the audience that what Penny actually did was an impression of Leonard I don't think that's what his reaction was "for"--it was just to make a goofy moment even goofier. It was a goofy-sounding voice that, IMO, wasn't supposed to be a real impression of Leonard, just an exaggeration of a "dumb" person. And then Sheldon's reaction was goofier because the audience knew that it did not sound just like Leonard. That's how it struck me, anyway.
