Pomita
Moonbase - I love that Sheldon/Amy comic. If only that could actually happen on the show! Moonbase
Moonbase - I love that Sheldon/Amy comic. If only that could actually happen on the show! Amy's open dislike of ST/SW continues to feel a little dissatisfying to me, even knowing that everyone is entitled to their tastes. Amy needs to nerd up big time. It isn't difficult! The stuff the boys like is inoffensive, light hearted and fun, it's very palatable. I'm wondering if this place is right for my comic strips though. I never know where to post them (fan fiction?). If anyone has any advise about other sites message me, this may be the wrong place as everyone understandably is here to discuss the show.
BangerMain
Penny is looking older and older.... Her acting is getting dumber.... The story is no longer intelligent and witty as it used to be... The magic is fading... It is high time to get back on track... Otherwise it will not be long until the show dies unnoticed... Got any evidence you would like to present to the jury? Ratings? Critical reviews? Fan forum reactions? Never state opinion as fact. You might get called on it. Kyzzx
I loved this episode, even though I'm not a fan of Wil Wheaton (on the show). Yeah, Amy was a pain in the ass, but not everyone is perfect all the time. I liked it because it showed her at her 'worst' (as we've seen so far) and that Sheldon is still willing to be on her side and support her. Think about Sheldon four years ago. He would have kicked anyone out in a SECOND that talked to his "friend" or someone he even admired a little bit like that. Then later on in the episode he went to Wil's and made him apologize. He definitely loves her, in whatever silly way he feels that.
Tripper
Last night's episode of The Big Bang Theory received the show's largest audience to date, breaking the record set by last season's "The Friendship Contraction" earlier this year. "The Habitation Configuration", which revived Sheldon's Fun with Flags videocast with guest stars Star Trek The Next Generation's Wil Wheaton and LeVar Burton, was watched by 16.68 million people. The episode broke the previous series high of 16.54 million, set February 2, 2012, by 140,00 people and also set a series high rating in households. In the important adults 18-49 demographic, the show was adjusted up in the final ratings to 5.1/15 rating, down slightly from last week's 5.2/15 rating. The Big Bang Theory finished first in its time slot with households, total viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. The Big Bang Theory was also the night's #1 program in households, viewers and the key adult demographics. http://the-big-bang-theory.com/story/1749/Episode-607-Final-Ratings-Biggest-audience-yet/
Puppy Chow
I didn't think I'd like this episode based on the premise, but I really loved it. Yes, Amy was obnoxious and rude. I didn't care. I thought the cold open was actually the funniest scene in the show. I agree with Pomita in that this wasn't an LOL episode as much as it was a crossroads/growth episode for both Sheldon and Howard. It doesn't matter whether or not Amy was right. The situation was just an (admittedly bad) trigger for Sheldon to recognize how he feels about her and how selfish and obtuse he could be. I'm sort of bummed that Howard is not completely moving on with his life but I think they did a good job giving him an 'out' because, let's face it, his mommy issues are a running gag they're not letting go anytime soon. Simon did an excellent job telling the magic trick story. Love him and love Jim.

You might get called on it. I don't think it was stated as a "fact". Everything posted out here has an implied "in my opinion" attached to it. And an opinion doesn't require "evidence". That's why it's called an opinion. Shouldn't people be able to say what they honestly think about the show and the characters without being asked for "evidence". It sounded like someone talking about yesterday's weather. Not a single "I think" or "I believe" in the paragraph. Nor a citation of some incident in the show as an example of why this claim is true. Even opinion is based on something--what is it about her looks that seems "older"? What is it about her acting that is "dumber"?, etc. This person obviously saw something in this episode (or somewhere) that caused him or her to come to these conclusions, so why not offer up some reasoning behind the statements? Unless this person is just a troll trying to stir the pot, why shouldn't they be asked to explain why they have come to these conclusions?

Pomita
The following statement - The magic is fading... It is high time to get back on track... Otherwise it will not be long until the show dies unnoticed... is not an 'opinion' by any stretch. A show does not 'die unnoticed' because YOU don't like it. Nor does it become wildly successful because YOU like it. As to which of these is actually happening to this show, there's plenty of objective evidence. BazingaFan
I actually liked this drunk sheldon better than the other drunk sheldon, mentioned in the post above. The last one was having fun. This one was on a mission -- a serious mission, so of course it would be different. The look in sheldon's eyes when he was drunk this time was the best part for me. Very believable and funny. Jim is amazing. Edited November 10, 2012 by BazingaFan

Sorry for all the posts, I just loved this episode! More Sheldon/Shamy episodes, please! My problem with this episode is simple... The entire episode was based on the ridiculous notion that Amy did not like Wil's acting which was given no proper explanation what so ever..... it just looked like they wanted a conflict We were supposed to believe that Sheldon should have stood up for Amy during the conflict........but the thing is Wil did not do anything wrong If the foundation is weak...it is hard to enjoy the story..... If was funny but something was missing

It was funny but something was missing This was my feeling as well. The argument between Amy and Will was inserted just for conflict purposes. Amy was so completely wrong in her actions there was little reason to understand her side at all. It seemed that the writers wanted to present Sheldon with a "Kobayashi Maru" dilemma and show the fun in seeing how he would handle it. Tensor
Where's your evidence that it wasn't just his opinion? Prove it. We're talking about subjective issues. There is no right or wrong. Well, the statement by SKJ that "...It is high time to get back on track... Otherwise it will not be long until the show dies unnoticed..." Is provably wrong. If it "will not be long until the show dies" when that show set the highest series ratings for the episode he was talking about, it will not die unnoticed. If it takes a while for it to die, then it may die unnoticed. You can't have both at this point, it's illogical. Of course, it could die unnoticed by SKJ. If was funny but something was missing Thinking about it now, I have to agree. The fact that Amy was mad at Wil for something SHE was actually at fault for and then she also gets mad at Sheldon was kind of a weak story line. They could have come up with something better....more creative for that, so that Sheldon could stand up for his lady for a GOOD REASON. LOL. Nevertheless, I still thought it was cute that he did what he did....proving that he cares enough for her to stand up for her no matter what :-). I think part of the problem is that the character development for Amy has been so all over the place. I could see Amy of early season 4 acting this way to Wil Wheaton, but not Amy of season 5 and 6. I think that may be part of why I enjoyed the scene because I have always thought that early Amy from season 4 was funnier. I enjoyed his drunk scene in Pants Alternative - it was very funny - but this one had another dimension to it altogether, apart from being funny, and Jim played it perfectly. I'm not a big fan of the Amy/Wheaton issue, though I loved the pay-off in terms of Sheldon's reaction. I believe it's implied that neither Penny nor Leonard knew exactly what had happened (Penny heard of it from Amy, who may have been biased, and Leonard just heard from Sheldon that there had been a fight). Anyone who had been present there would have called Amy out on it, too. Edited November 10, 2012 by Pomita

Well I don't think Amy's character development had been all over the place Actually this is what I feel what the writers were thinking regarding this episode( I might be highly off base though ) They wanted Wheaton to call Amy a pain in the ass...which they thought would really stand out given her reaction(so they created a conflict)....so we as audience would want Sheldon to side with Amy...which he does not....so Amy gets upset.... But what actually stood out were the comments that Amy initially made towards Wheaton which were used to start the conflict.... so it was hard to side with Amy I don't think the plot was that Sheldon would stand by Amy no matter what (good or bad) as the rest of the episode clearly focused on Sheldon coming to terms with the fact that he should have taken Amy's side during the initial conflict... So in the end I don't think any of it made much sense Edited November 10, 2012 by vasu
Ðꧧï©å‡êÐ ©ø®þ§ê
This was disappointing to the past few episodes, oh God just another relationship episode. Maybe I was wrong about it going back to it's science-like theme. At least it wasn't a L/P episode but it was still mediocre regardless.
