I think the baby road in any case is a long way off if even probable. The only couple who could travel down that path right now is H/B and we know it'll take them a while before they are ready.

The other couples aren't even living together or it seems have any plans to live together. I think until we see this living situation change we don't have to think about any kind of babies

I would not want to see Howard and Bernadette having kids or anyone else for that matter.  It would get boring real fast to have kids on a regular basis.  However, I think it would be funny to have Sheldon have to deal with children in one episode.  Prehaps, for some reason, have the university force Sheldon to teach basic science to grade school children for some type of project.  Can you imagine Sheldon having to deal with children--coughing sneezing, doing typical children things.  It would not have to be the main storyline, perhaps a secondary story, but it would be hillarious.

This is the story of my life.   I am a writer and I have experienced ideas that became public.  Back in the 90's I came up with an idea about a group of astronauts that are sent to Mars to explore recent finding of structures on the planet.  They find a civilization and most of them are killed by the martians.  I was going to call it Mission to Mars.  Well, in 2000 the movie came out and had much of the same plot as my story.  I think though a good idea is a good idea.  The idea of Sheldon teaching children is a great idea that it had to come to the writers of TBBT.  Such an episode, I'm sure, wrote itself.

I've been nervous about something ever since Howard and Penny (oops) Bernadette got married. I really hope the writers don't decide to bring a pregnancy into the relationship. I think it would just ruin the entire show if any of the characters start having kids.

Anyone else worried about this?

 

They ruined part of the show's basic premise with Bernadette becoming Howard's (permanent) girlfriend. She may have been okay as 3-4 episode story-arc like Dr. Stephanie, but as it turned out, her presence completely destroyed the once great character that was Howard Wolowitz. I can almost guarantee a pregnancy at some point. TBBT having become a Friends clone, there will have to be.

I agree, but you know tv shows.  If something is done over and over then they keep doing it.  But I think TBBT cast, SHeldon in particular, would be hilarious doing it and they would do it better than any one else.  It's like in science fiction, time travel stories are overdone.  But they are still fun to watch and read and every now and again someone does a time travel story that is great.  I just think it's one of those situations where the story would write itself.  Even if the storyline itself was not that good, it would still funny.  Sheldon is Scrooge already.  But I haven't seen A Christmas Carol done as a parady on any tv shows in  a long time.   I guess it's the writer in me.  I am always taking characters and putting them in other storylines.  We'll see if my prediction comes true.  My track record is pretty good.

I think Amy may want to marry sooner, but I think she would be happy just being married and both she and Sheldon working toward greatness in their careers for a while as a married couple. I don't see her wanting kids right away, although I do know she would want them eventually. But I could see them speeding up her agenda for marriage sooner, especially given how fast they have moved Sheldon along this season.

Regardless of when they marry, I cannot see Amy wanting children any time soon. Neither she nor Sheldon have the Eternal Patience a parent requires with very, very young children...

... As far as the show goes: They would not introduce children for any of the couples. First off it would be annoying, boring or just plain ridiculous at this stage. Better if they end the show before they bring on children for any of the characters, even our Married Couple.

Yeah, there should definitely be no babies whatsoever. Bernadette doesn't want them, so the writers may have ruled Howard and Bernadette out. I doubt Leonard and Penny will ever get that far and don't even think about Sheldon and Amy having a baby. They, I sincerely hope, will not engage in amorous activities and Sheldon's mother will not allow Sheldon to use science to procreate.

Shamy is one couple that are leading towards sex, albeit, very, very, very slowly. The buildup being so glacial indicates that it shall be well-planned and thought out far in advance. Although Sheldon is as innocent as a babe in the woods, even he knows to use protection to prevent pregnancy so they are definitely one couple that shall not be having that Oops Moment sometimes used in sitcoms to create "drama". In fact I highly doubt any of the couple are leading towards such a development as this is a Comedy not a Drama sitcom and children truly have absolutely no place on a show such as this.

I don't think it will be planned at all because this is a sitcom.  When in happens the writers are going to try to "knock our socks off" and catch us unaware.  Plus with taping reports, everyone will know which episode it is going to happen before it plays.  No one will be able to keep it a secret, it will be all over the boards.

Well, I for one hope he's at least a romantic asexual. That is, he can have a relationship with someone but is disgusted with the idea of coitus. A lot of people seem to have been operating under the presumption that asexuality is having no relationship whatsoever, but there are a lot of romantic asexuals out there. If Amy and Sheldon were to marry or engage in coitus, it'd completely spoil the show for me and ruin the characters as well. If it were to happen and I was to watch the earlier seasons again, Sheldon would just look like a complete and utter hypocrite.

While I don't disagree with your comment about Howard I agree with the others that there will be no kids. Since I've watched every episode of Friends and TBBT I don't quite get the cloning comment.I see Joey/Penny acting and the Rachel/Penny waitressing. I did see a post somewhere else comparing Ross to the guys and Amy (nerds) which I thought was hilarious. Maybe I'm just missing something.

If you don't see it, I can't explain it to you. Just look at the basic framework of the two shows, rather than the specific characters. You've got almost the exact same dynamic going on in both of them. Only one has nerds while the other has a bunch of trendy d-bags. Maybe there'll be a baby (or babies) in TBBT, or maybe there won't. Either way, TBBT has quickly become Friends 2.0 since season 4.
