ArmyGirl
Kaley Cuoco doesn't write the show. Oh, I know this. Though actors do make their wishes know.
ArmyGirl
I just read the article, and i'm pretty sure that I have read those quotes before. I think they are old ones, taken from around season 4/beginning of season 5 time. I don't think we have anything to worry about! I Am Molly, I hope you are right. I can't do the stomp on Leonard's heart again. Also, I want to trust the writers but......
Chrismo
I wonder if this is a conglomeration "interview" where they've taken previous quotes and put them together as if they've actually interviewed her before. None of these answers sound current. Those are definitely old quotes. They don't even makes sense now. Dating other guys would have season 4 or 5. The only thing that is making people think it's something current is the mention of the 2013 Critic's Choice awards. There no reason that the show needs plugging when it's on hiatus. phantagrae is right. So is Molly. The Lisa Kudrow mention was from March 2010. Tensor
Actually, those are from an interview between five and six. But, while they may have made sense then (after all, they were still trying to figure out the in progress coitus proposal and Penny's feelings about the whole thing (based on 6.1 and 6.2 Kaley spoke the truth, it wasn't right for L/P). Of course, with everything that happened this year, the current situation doesn't fit with the not right. Also, Prady had said that things between the two were going to get rocky. Between the first two episodes, Penny's jealousy in 6.3, Leonard's jealousy in 6.8, Penny's insecurity and Leonard actually standing up for himself, it was pretty rocky. It's just that now, with everything they went through and fixed this year, the couple is in the best place they've ever been, and those comments make no sense. Nogravitasatall
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/23/leonard-penny-love-galecki-cuoco_n_3329569.html Quote from Ms Cuoco. " "When Penny said, 'I love you' to Leonard. It took her more than five years to say it. That's why now you know with Penny that whatever she does is real. You know when she said it she truly meant it. That's why now Leonard is OK with going away and knowing that they're going to be OK," Cuoco told THR. "We did that in one take. Steve [Molaro] came out and said, 'We're really happy with that. Do you want to do it again?' We didn't want to; it felt perfectly right. I told Johnny: 'It was so weird -- I became Penny in that moment.' There was no audience, just Leonard and Penny. It was a moment I'll definitely never forget." " Not sure if this is the best affirmation of current status but if Arianna puts it on her site it, it must be true. Lol. eirwinrommel
I am not sure how TPTB are going to handle Penny's actions while Leonard is gone, or if they go into it much at all. They very well might start the season off with Leonard returning and pick up things from there. I would like to see or at least hear the other characters mention how Penny handled Leonard's abscense. I personally do not see her "falling apart" while he is gone, but IMO she is more likely to miss him terribly, spend allot of time with her friends for support, and perhaps have Sheldon say something about how she was driving him crazy because of her constant talking about Leonard, although I think that he too will have missed Leonard allot. No matter how the writers have things go, I think that it will be very interesting. I don't see how the show can't address Leonard being gone for the summer. They'd be throwing away so much, and quite frankly if they ignored it there wouldn't be a point to having him go on the trip. I've got a good one, Leonard's been gone all summer (no visible contact with penny. only snail mail) and he returns to find her four months pregnant (after all no birth control is 100%). That would really kick-start season seven (I'm sure It won't happen, just an idea that popped up while writing this). I always thought it was convenient that they put L/P back together just after Kaley announced her engagement (they've {Kaley and Fiance} broke up since then). Nogravitasatall
The arctic trip was 3 months. The nth sea trip is 3 or 4 months, said Leonard. i think they've given themselves options. But then I've read stuff where he drowns. Lol . They could really reboot then and dump Amy too. Bernie gets bird flu as well. In the post apocalyptic world we get Shenny. Also speculatively, if Ms Cuoco decides to have child in real life they could do a Scully and shoot around her... Or not. They faked Rachel's pregnancy in "Friends", and disguised Ms Anderson's in X-Files. helpful, not. My timeline was based on Penny being pregnant for a while without knowing, and by the time she knew Leonard was gone. The birth control issue was in reference to past (and future) Two and A Half Men. I figure that if Kaley has a child, it would be so much easier to just write it into the show (I thought they should have done that with Voyager for P/T instead of waiting for the end of the series). SRAM
No babies till last season and no crazy Shenny stuff. Shenny's deep down hate the show because the first thing they do is change the characters, if you look at their stories the honest ones put OC, OOC or AU, because the hate the real show. So lets not go through that rabbit hole.
Nogravitasatall
Awww. You know I'm kidding about Shenny. I was horrified and disturbed (even more than I may already be) when I first ran into it. And I agree. How can you profess to like something then want to fundamentally change it? Its like "doing a Pryia". Lol. Edited June 21, 2013 by Nogravitasatall

It is sort of weird that none of them will be there. It is possible, but I would suspect it is orchestrated by someone. First, it could be that the cast really doesn't know anything about the upcoming season. Second, there could be contract discussions and this is a way to put pressure on someone. This could either be the cast saying no without a new contract, of the network not wanting to give them a national venue. Third, the cast knows where the plot is going, and the producers want to exert maximum control over the spin. It just seems like to me that the cast would clear one day of Comic Con for promotion and such.

Molaro recently said how the writers really didn't have anything plotted out yet, so there's no way the cast could know anything about the upcoming season, and it's not like they're a bunch of dummies who would blurt out spoilers if they did know them. The actors don't go back to work until August, so none of them has seen a single script for next season at this point. I suppose it could be a contract thing, but I think that sort of thing takes place a little earlier, and the cast has not been known to negotiate as a group, so if someone was holding out for more money or something, I don't think the who,e cast would be banned from attending or anything like that. There was a contract thing a couple of years ago, I think, but it was dealt with before ComicCon, and I can't imagine we'd have the same issue again. It is sort of odd that the actors wouldn't be there simply to promote themselves and the show. You, there's no such thing as bad publicity and all. The mere event of having to tell the interviewer that the writers haven't worked out the next season still counts as publicity. Maybe they will be there but not part of some big panel. It would actually look bad if none of the actors showed even in an informal capacity as the show is so huge.
SRAM
I really hope this is not about the actors contracts. After the last season, their agents may be asking for big bucks for all of them.

Guitars1964
During an interview with Access Hollywood after the Critics Choice, Kaley acknowledges that Leonard is away and the relationship will be tested. She says she doesn't know anything about the next season, but I wonder. From past interviews I've seen it seemed that the cast was generally in the dark about what was going to happen in the future. I'm inclined to believe that, and I might guess that the writers and cast may actually like the cast not knowing ahead of time - perhaps it becomes more life-like, since, let's face it, despite our best plans and efforts, we never know what's going to happen next in our own lives. Perhaps Kaley was just offering a general observation that any relationship undergoes some upset when the two are separated for a long period (and 4 months is a long period, especially when the relationship has finally found that good place after so long). That 4 months would be hell for me were I Leonard.
gsxdoug
Hi, first post but have been lurking for a few seasons. I haven't seen this suggested yet, so thought I'd put this out there. Perhaps they may do like on Night Court(remember that show?) with Dan Fielding where his plane went down in the Arctic at the end of one season. Leonard might be "lost at sea" for a few episodes. There could be two stories running in parallel with everybody back home fearing the worst, and Leonard having some mis-adventure.

I'm all for it - maybe I could get some kind of royalty for the story (my Fan Fiction "The Rogue Wave Precipitator)? Naw, just kidding. Actually, I'd accept an expenses paid trip to LA to see the episode made (man, I'm really dreamin' now!). Yes, another Shameless Plug for my FF. But it will be interesting to see where and how the story picks up in 7 X 1 - will Leonard return in that episode, will he already be home at that point, or will they keep him away for one or two episodes to give us a view of life at Los Robles without Leonard. I kind of like the last option, with Leonard being away for no more than 2 episodes and to set up his return. I think they could have some real fun with Sheldon, Penny, et al (nope, not talking about a "Shenny" deal here) in Leonard's absence. As with last episode of Season 6, we'll all be tuning in on Sept. 26 to see what's next (wow, that's a long ways away...still!).

Nogravitasatall
i got this from the current I.am.molly story Its extrapolated from when Penny drunk sleeps on Leonard's bed. What if she doesn't move out. Lol. She fisnds comfort staying at Leonard's and Sheldon can't get her to move out. They reach a détente, much to Sheldon's disgust. Penny gets intransigent, establishes her territory in Leonard's place and stands her ground - because she wants to be surrounded by Leonard"ness". At the end of the little arc (say 2nd or 3rd, whatever) Leonard comes up the stairs unexpectedly and goes to Penny's flat - she's gone. He was expecting an S3 type reunion. Leonard goes across the hall and finds Sheldon and Penny cohabitating, she's there having spaghetti with Sheldon in apparent happy domesticity. Leonard goes all WTF. The misunderstanding is resolved by the end of the ep. some fans get unsettled at the outset because it looks bad for their ship, but it resolves happily.
