I think I figured out why the director didn't catch it. He saw it, but didn't want to change it because this way it gives all the Shenny's a sliver of hope.   After all, it was awkward because Penny wasn't "comfortable" with Leonard's arm around her, because obviously she wanted to be with Sheldon, not Leonard.  And she only invited Leonard into her apartment because she couldn't stand that godawful cello playing, and it was the only way to stop it.   As for the last scene, Penny's just practicing her hot and smart look on Leonard, so she has perfected the look when she goes for the more difficult to fool Sheldon.   See how devious the director and writers have become?

I think the episode when they get married (if they ever do that is) is going to be the point at which I go back to season 1 and marvel in awe at how far they've come. I honestly think that Penny made a good choice :D, I don't care if people bash Leonard, the world needs more people like him to replace the plauge of douchebags out there. The fact that Penny gave Leonard a chance and discovered how much better he was those other 'hot guys' makes me hope that it has somehow inspired some people who watch the show to think twice about someone despite their outside appearance. Especially those girls who still refuse to date anyone other than kind of guys that Penny used to date.

 

here here.  To many people in the world these days aren't just afraid to date someone outside of their "circle" they are afraid to be apart of a different one.  So many people don't follow their hearts or their dreams because they are scared of what others will think and its a sad world we live in that has come to that.

 

The L/P relationship is 100% without a doubt what originally drew me to the show.  Seeing the contrast between the two characters and how different they are but how compatible they are at the same time is almost mesmerizing... to me at least.  They really do pull it off well in the show and while there may be bumps and parts we don't always like but I think they are doing really well now and this episode has only pulled the knot tighter

Do you think they could have done this over the shoulder with two cameras? As well as containing some clever coding (exposed by @Tensor), it's also sort of a nod to the pillow talk closeup scenes.

 

But I don't think we will ever see a booted foot outside the bedclothes. Holy crap on a cracker,  I'd laugh at that!

I really kinda wished direction would have allowed them to take their time and get comfortable on the couch. It's a very sweet moment, that would have been sweeter, IMO, by allowing the to "snuggle" for a few seconds to give a better physicality to the moment.

There should be more coming around, maybe with less preceding drama. Just to signal that things are good, but still to serve the story. The boots comment really killed me. I wonder if they added that in post? Also I think this one might have run long so maybe they had a lot to fit in. IDK.

It occurs to me that Leonard must be feeling a little less self-conscious about his height if Penny is wearing boots again.  One of his issues early on was her towering over him in heels.

I don't remember, did Leonard ever say he didn't like it when Penny was taller than him. When in bare feed isn't she a hair shorter than him. I know a guy that is about Leonard's height and he always dated and married girls that were 3-5 inches taller than him. He really liked taller girls and they all thought he was cute.

You´re right. Penny mentioned it towards Leonard that he wrote this in the Penny "bug" report in the episode " The Beta Test Initiation" .

So Penny can only wear her high heels when she´s going out with her girls Amy and Bernadette. Whatever. She loves Leonard and he loves her and they booth can live with the little tics from each other.

I think that list was another one of those one episode type deals.  It would be sort of cute if they were going all dressed up to a dinner party at Leonards work and when she sees Leonard looking good in a TUX and she is in high heels she excuses herself and comes back with lower shoes so she is the same height as him.

@sram-yes penny was hot in the glasses.   ok i am now all in on a valentines show   would like leonard to set it up,in #3 one of the professor could not go so he went. to see how penny was so vulnerabe that she was going to lose leonard to alex as she said she is pretty, smart.,leonard you are the only one for me.

I enjoy that you post in, like, free verse. Maybe it's your tech but its neat. Yes to a valentimes day ep that works for P/L. With their boots on.

OK, this is my last day of vacation so I spent most of my day hanging with my bird, because I have sort of been not around much during my vacation and he has been getting lonely. Well since I was home, I hate to admit this, and since Kaley was going to be on, I actually watched the Ellen show for the first time. What I thought was interesting was that Kaley brought a promo scene for the next show that I never saw before. It was a very small scene where Penny brings Leonard some makeup sponges and states he has a lot of makeup, better than her makeup, and like a girlfriend would, tries to take some. What is interesting is what Leonard says (not a quote), I LOVE YOU but you can't have the makeup, and Penny doesn't make any deal of him starting with ILY. It is a small scene and I thought it was interesting Kaley brought that one to show on Ellen.
