Thanks for the promo Krys. I'll comment in here since I don't want to spoil people. To be honest, I'm still not a fan of this episode and I'm still convinced LKH should not be allowed to write episodes together. There something that really bugs me about Leonard and Amy being portrayed as the needy, desperate ones and Sheldon and Penny as the uncommitted, immature ones. They've both been reaching such a nice balance, I feel like this ep throws it all up in the air. Thank God I know what happens in 6x16.

I agree that Sheldon's boa constrictor comment wasn't meant to be negative at all, he probably just felt physically stifled but emotionally he was very much in need of the hug, and expressed as much, almost as soon as she let go of him. Aw, his eyes when he looked up and said 'why did you stop' can't get over the sweetness of it.

BazingaFan - it's similar with my hubby! Absolutely refuses to hear spoilers, and hes's definitely an honorary Shamy shipper. :)

I share your concern but am reserving judgement until I see it air.  Even just the little bit in this promo, I think it is going to air a lot different than it sounded initially when reading the taping report so perhaps it will come across a little less "needy" and more as if there had been an implied agreement or something.   I agree about the writing team combination, however. I have always felt they made Leonard/Amy more needy and Penny/Sheldon immature and uncommitted.   I suspect they think that is stretching things out, but it came come across very "cartoonish" and not enjoyable if repeated too often.   Let's hope they are NOT the combination for the one being taped tomorrow night.   I can't wait to learn more about that episode.

The mystery ep for tomorrow night...would it be the one in which Penny gets an acting job?

I really wish Laurie Metcalf could hurry up and finish her Broadway play so we can finally find out what Mrs. Cooper thinks about her little boy having a girlfriend.

LOL I was just rewatching earlier eps from this season, and I think they have to have Alex find something whimsically inventive in those tapes Sheldon gave her. Not just because of the Shamy implications, but because she's so good at making this face -->  :icon_eek:   that it'd be a waste not to use it while she sorts through the tapes.

To me it's different from "I'm in hell.  Don't stop."  He was confused and hurt when she pulled away at that comment.  It didn't sound like he thought the boa constrictor comment was a complaint.

It's like when his wow account was hacked.

Penny: Okay, well, anyways, I brought you a day-old cheesecake to cheer you up!

Sheldon: Stale pastry is hollow succour to a man who is bereft of ostrich.

Penny: Just say thank you.

Sheldon: I thought I just did.

OMG..... "50 tapes of Sheldon!"

I would give something to learn about these tapes!

I love the hug scene, amy knows sheldon is touch phobic and she respectfully asked him first and the why did you stop is similar to the I'm in hell dont stop scene :)

I agree.  I think he's just wonderfully conflicted. :)

In the I'm in hell/Don't stop episode, he's complaining to Leonard that Amy is making him happy, LOL!  He talks on the one hand as if she's doing something wrong--and yet, he admits that the things she's doing are things he likes--the train outing, the special dinner, and then playing doctor ST-style.

It's the junior high romance thing again--he's a 13-yr-old boy who can't admit that he actually likes his girlfriend.  His "I'm in hell" comment is really only a superficial complaint and the "Don't stop" comment is the truth. :p

With this episode, it's a little deeper and a little more real, I think, in that he really is upset and really does want some kind of comfort.  He figures that a hug can't be any worse than how he's already feeling, but we see in his immediate response that it does help him.  His boa constrictor comment is similar to his "I'm in hell" comment in that the physical contact is a big step and it's probably a little physically uncomfortable, but the "Why'd you stop?" question is the truth--whatever the physical sensations, the emotional sensation was the more important one.  And maybe he decided he liked being a little strangled. :)

"Sheldon After Dark"--I'd pay good money to hear that! :icon_twisted:

] Well and we all know what he thinks he [wishes he was?] is doing nightly with Amy, according to what he told Kripke. :icon_mrgreen:  So I have to believe they will revisit those tapes and something Alex discovers as well.  Besides, as Spook said, she does that :icon_eek:  look far too well.  :icon_lol:

I felt like there was more to the boa comment.  Not necessarily all just his physical discomfort (about touching and because she really did cuddle him super tight), but also there was so much going on in his mind that his mind felt strangled as well by a boa.   Feeling so deflated about having his work be inferior to Kripke (of all people), that had to feel like his heart was being squeezed (and his brain).   Likewise, we all know he has been struggling with his emotions and urges, etc. and that has to feel like he is being squeezed.  I took it to be ALL of those things (physical and the emotional, mental squeezing).    Just my take on things.

Stardust - that's an interesting take. It could easily have meant any or all of those things. I wonder if the writers thought of it (sometimes we're smarter than them). :p

Ah, 'Sheldon after dark'! I wanted to hear it the moment he spoke of it. :)

YES!  I love it when she makes that face.  That's why she's so great as a normal person for Sheldon to play against.

I wonder whether in 6x15 they kept the sound of the audience cheering for Amy when she get pissed. lol. That'd be epic.

I saw it at one of the last tapings and can't remember if they did! I wouldn't be surprised if they cut it out. They really should keep things like that in. We're told each time that they are looking for our "natural laugher, applause, responses" so if they're cutting out important things like that? I'd say that's not completely the truth. LOL.
