rubyanjel
I'm reusing this gif because it's so appropriate. Actually, the first time I read that I thought that he didn't mean "his experience" as in knowing his mind turns Amy on, but the other way around. I think it goes both ways. That's what I thought too. I had to analyze what it meant. I thought since he meant women, then he thinks it turns her on. But how does he know what an aphrodisiac is and that I REAAAAAAAAAALLY thought he meant it for himself. Boy howdy, all the fanfics that made Amy ride a cowboy also got me thinking. The God Particle
Her scene where she wants barebacked and bare chested ridding a horse. It would be wonderful if that was the one they used.

I do think he's not as clueless as people believe him to be. I think the fact that he's thinking about all this stuff more just makes it easier for him to get slang (he does it all the time with Raj now and then last week with Kripke), although he doesn't know how to use it properly yet, and make puns and also to give new meaning to things that he might have known before but in a more detached way. I do think he's starting to realize there's nothing wrong with sex and so he's opening up more. Plus, the fact that his relationship is sailing smoothly is making him cocky, which is typical Sheldon: always wanting to be the best at everything. That's why I'm not surprised he thinks he can give "pointers" lol, like he's some kind of expert with his one and only girlfriend. It's hilariously in character and so new and odd at the same time. I love it. (But I bet if they use that line you'll have people hate it because "Sheldon doesn't do that!"). But hey, him giving pointers really made my day because he sounded as if he's an expert now (like you said) his relationship with Amy's going smooth like a baby's bottom. And I REALLY want the first take rather than the last one because it's funnier and it goes with the fact that he's been talking about women most of the time anyway. "Women: delightfully mysterious or bat-crap crazy", "women are like egg salads on a hot summer day"... It's like he's so confident that he's now ultimately proud that those things he mentioned has what got him a woman.

He is so pissed off that Amy gets up and leaves him for girl chat that he starts man-struating. He wasn't talking about women there, he might as well said Amy: delightful mysterious or bat-crap crazy.

Oh, Sheldon, you're so possessive over Amy.
tmp
I've always interpreted that line as that he was both disappointed she was leaving and also unpleasantly surprised that she would be interested in such unintellectual matters. That "prolonged exposure to Penny" must be doing it to her. Of the three lines mentioned, TBH I'm a little confused by the aphrodisiac line in the context. When I've heard people say that the best aphrodisiac is the mind, they generally mean for getting themselves turned on, not their partner. Unless he's talking about stirring up some mental images in your partner's mind, I don't understand. I can't imagine Sheldon saying the third one. Actually, the second line made me laugh and I could imagine Sheldon saying it.
koops
I think it means both. The way I interpret it is that he finds the mind to be a turn-on for himself and therefore thinks that it must be for others too. That's why he says "In my experience". And by "the mind" I don't think he means using imagination to conjure up fantasies, I think he means intelligence. And since his experience is a relationship of the mind so far... I agree I'd prefer 1 or 2, I don't like 3. Edited February 7, 2013 by spook

I agree I'd prefer 1 or 2, I don't like 3. That's what got me freaking out. He often claims they have a relationship of the mind and then now he claims the mind is an aphrodisiac. Unless he meant it as soup, which I doubt is the case. AND NOW THINGS ARE STARTING TO MAKE SENSE. IT'S A FREAKING CONTINUITY. You just had Sheldon saying that sex is a possibility, him demonstrating fellatio, not getting freaked out after she showed him her bikini wax job, him touching her chest... And now the mind is the aphrodisiac and that women loves Cowboys (she's his ride, remember?) Okay, things are looking better and better for me because of the sweeps. This season is going to kill me. If only you guys know how hard I'm laughing with that last bit of Spook's comment. Oh wow that makes so much sense. HAHAHAHAHA A lovely person said that Sheldon was pointing to his head when he said the aphrodisiac line, if anybody cares. biggest aphrodisiac-mind mind-brain brain-neurobiologist So basically Amy's job is to work on aphrodisiacs. MJistheBOMB
Was that supposed to be a pun or my mind's simply dirty? Your mind is dirty!! Haha. Hey, we all have dirty minds, no worries. BTW, I'm a hypocrite. I went into that Ar Diem thread and got mad something he said and called him, "digusting". It was just yesterday I was saying we shouldn't let pot stirers like that get to us and what do I do? LOL. Needless to say, he's made it to my list of people to try to avoid, right along side djvang. Anyway, back to Shamy. LOL
koops
Yeah, I honestly think we should just stay out of those threads, because we are the ones effectively keeping them alive by replying, nobody else is. Moonbase is the only other one but at least he/she is open to rational discourse! lol. Other than that it essentially turns into us saying A and Ar Diem saying B over and over and over again. Between that and Slicknickshady Shenny obsession, I don't know what's worse. lol.
