I liked the episode, but it's not my favorite.  I liked the shamy scenes. At least Sheldon knew that his relationship was not at that level yet...but he should have been up front with her. Aww Amy!!!

Also liked how Amy slipped in the bit about the lipgloss....hmmm Shelly's been checking out the lips!!!

Just watched it again and I'm warming up to it.  Did you guys catch that Sheldon said their relationship wasn't ready for that level of intimacy?  Sounds like he thinks it will be someday.  And he claimed the reason he didn't want to tell Amy she couldn't live with him was that he couldn't refute her logic, but he sure had no problem telling L/P the real, very logical, reason.  The truth is, he didn't want to hurt her feelings.  I liked that Amy stood up to Sheldon, and so did Leonard.  And yeah, Sheldon's paying attention to Amy's lips--that's a good thing.  I still wanted to see a proper resolution between the two couples, but Sheldon and Leonard made up, and Sheldon tried to do better with what had bothered Leonard.

I want see Sheldon do something really nice for Amy for Valentine's day to make up for kicking her out and being a coward this week.  Otherwise I want Amy to get an Alex character, some really smart cute guy scientist at her lab show up and flirt with her and make Sheldon jealous so he realizes he's not the cats pajamas all the time and that other guy could steal Amy away if he doesn't start treating her better.   I know he loves her and I love that he wants to keep the mystery in their relationship.  It makes sense that he's not ready to live with her yet, but I hope it will happen someday in future.  But, next time I hope its Sheldon asking Amy to come live there instead of other way around.  I'd love to see some of power shift a little in the relationships of SHAMY and LENNY.

Sheldon and Penny act like they are always in charge all of the time and Leonard and Amy always end up bending over backwards to please them only to be constantly shut down or shut out when things get too serious or emotional for sheldon and penny to handle.  They both need to GROW UP!  but it'll take time, and more assertiveness from Leonard and Amy which I was glad to see tonight's episode.  They need to stand up for what they want more or at least show them what they'd be missing if they weren't around at all.  Though I hope not too much time, because they really are so much fun to watch  And if it wouldn't for Leonard and Amy, Sheldon especially would be SO lost.  He is never going to find a more perfect girlfriend for him than Amy so he better not break her heart.  And well Penny she may be able to get another boyfriend besides Leonard, but another guy will probably just break her heart  instead the way other guys she use to date did in the past and then shell want come crawling back to Leonard if he got with Alex or some other smarter, but still pretty girl.   Still I don't want that to happen.  I just want Sheldon and Penny to be nicer and more honest.   If they were just honest and polite from the start Leonard and Amy wouldn't haven't gotten so upset, but lying and hiding things only makes it worst.  Ah well live and learn as they say :)  All cute little moments like SHAMY phone message or Penny telling Sheldon that she loves Leonard help make up for their lack of maturity.

I keep thinking Amy and Leonard need to have a heart-to-heart about their respective relationships.  I think they could help each other get a better perspective and Amy could help Leonard get more assertive with Penny.  Of course, if that happened the Shennys would insist that the two couples change partners.  Oh well, I still think it would make a good story.

Oh, and did you notice in tonight's episode Amy said they'd been dating for over two years, so even though they kept insisting that they were just friends at first, in retrospect they're now calling it dating?

I like that Amy has a waterbed...it shows she has a playful side..;) though I suspect Sheldon's mattress as being pretty firm one, so whenever they do start sleeping together someday in distant futre it will be interesting if they ever end up having a MATTRESS DEBATE over how firm or soft of a mattress to get lol

They left out the fist pound between Sheldon and Penny, didn't they? That's no fun. He moves his fist forward, she raises hers to give him a fist pound and then he grabs her fist and shakes it. LOL.

It's just as well since they've done that joke twice now.  You know, I was just thinking, as touch-phobic as Sheldon supposedly is, he has been touching a lot of people lately.  Last week he touched Amy and Kripke, this week both Leonard and Penny, though the Penny thing got cut.

I really enjoyed this episode in spite of the unresolved ending. We got a couple of good Shamy nuggets that I view as significant:1) Sheldon stated that their relationship hadn't reached the level of "intimacy" that comes with moving in together (just his use of the "I" word, alone, says something about how serious he is about Amy and how much he has grown up), and 2) he chose not to tell her the truth because he does not want to hurt her feelings! Curious whether others think his comment about the "mystery" in their relationship was sincere or just a device/ploy he used in an attempt to change Amy's mind?

This shows tremendous emotional growth from what Sheldon was in previous seasons - someone who wouldn't hesitate to be brutally honest no matter the potential consequences.

I loved Amy in this, too...she is so freaking adorable! There is a quirky charm to her and a naïveté that is so endearing. She really is the woman-girl to his man-boy, lol.

This may be the proverbial "two steps back" following last week's big step forward, but I thought it was handled well. We know that the feelings are there for both couples; it's just a matter of each pair getting in sync and moving forward at the same pace. Now can't wait for V-Day...:D

I noticed the lack of the fist bump/shake. I had to check for it on my rewatch because I had slipped into the kitchen for a moment when it aired and I missed part of that scene.

If they had done it tonight it would have been the third time, and that's considered a staple of comedy, to do things in threes like that.

But it would have come right on the heels of the Kripke one, and it might have thrown off the timing of the end of the scene.

I do like the end, though, without a formal resolution. It's not the style of the show to do such things, and I think the ending we got was fitting. The episode had that exposition--development--recapitulation form to it, so it felt fine to me. :)

Right, I'm here. :)

Lots of things to analyze about this ep and also lots of things I agree with everyone else on here.

So, things that have been mentioned before.

Sheldon actually came across as rather mature on the whole situation. I REALLY liked that he talked about level of intimacy and not being ready, implying they might be someday and that he told Amy about the mystery in their relationship. And the lip gloss thing. WOW. That was just WOW. Speechless.

I love it that they're essentially admitting once again they've been dating since the day they met.

I loved that Amy was going to take Leonard's room. Whether that's because she isn't ready to take that next step yet or because she was just being considerate, it's a good thing regardless.

I love that she has a water bed!!! LOL!!!  I can already see the influx of fanfics now.

Amy's outburst was nowhere near as bad as I expected it. It made me want to hug her but at the same time it was funny. The voicemail was hilarious and I actually like that in this one she had some lines that were her long-worded convoluted sentences that she hadn't been using much recently. I was worried she started talking too normal so I liked that.

And finally, Sheldon is definitely a lot more relaxed about touching now and the way he was leaning on the door trying to convince Leonard to come back was pretty sexy for Sheldon. Amy's in for a treat.

But yeah, let's go back to the lipgloss since that's fitting with what's been discussed on here recently: they're starting to throw in clues that he does notice and, dare I say, appreciate her physically as well as intellectually. The desirable parts last week, the lipgloss this week, then if they do keep the aphrodisiac line in 6x17. Lots of material. To be honest at this stage I don't know what to expect for the season finale, anything could be coming (within reason of course, I don't think we'll get anything more than a kiss and that's totally fine).

Oh and I just have to say I love that the writers threw in the part about the lipgloss.  I think that is reference to episode when Alex first appeared and Amy put on lipgloss and makeup to show it to Sheldon thinking it might lead to phone sex.  We never got to hear sheldon's response, but I guess now we have our answer he thinks lipgloss makes her lips look to slippery lol.  Oh Sheldon, at least he was looking at her lips maybe he wants to kiss her someday and doesn't want to go sliding off her face lol

I'm just rewatching it. LOL the part she suddenly bursts from "awww" to WHAT THE HELL SHELDON!!! hahah. That was so brilliantly acted to go from cute to raging in the span of 2 seconds. And his face when she does that, he is terrified. I don't think I've ever seen Sheldon that scared of someone.

Also, I love the bit where Sheldon complains about how hard it was to get Leonard on a bathroom schedule and Amy looks just as unimpressed and goes "Like a dogboy!" and he goes "Exactly!". It's a little thing, but once again shows how similar they are on certain stuff, like she's the only one that would get his annoyance that people can't stick to a bathroom schedule. So weirdly cute.

(I try to get my housemates on a shower and laundry schedule, it's a struggle. lol. I think Sheldon would be my perfect roommate).
