koops
How about Amy help him cheat? To the guys it seems as if he's successfully done it - lets say the time frame was a week - but of course Amy was helping him cheat the whole time...everyone finds out he was cheating in the end... I think he would have to try at the beginning though. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of seeing him fail miserably. And crawl back to her telling her he can't do it and that she has to help him cheat. Man, I wish we could write for this show sometimes.

MJistheBOMB
Lots of good points here! That's why I love this site! I know we all try to understand Sheldon, but I still feel for Amy. I know it's a fictional show but try to imagine dating someone for two years without any physical contact. I hear you, sister. Plus he's THAT HANDSOME and adorable? There's no freakin' way I'd be able to keep my hands off him. LOL.
shamylove
Something has to push him toward initiating some sort of physical display of affection - a hug or kiss (!) - before the season's end. Amy has been so darn patient and Sheldon needs to face his fears a bit more (re: physical contact) so he can grow more. I mean, if they are ever going to make it to the bedroom, we need something from him sometime soon. And, I hope whatever it is that pushes him forward is totally Shamy; strange, awkward, and sweet all at the same time.

shamylove
omg, I could watch that gif for quite a long time! Sorry, I was distracted there for a moment. I just came here to say that I'm not going into those other threads anymore or anytime soon. They just get me all worked up. Why waste the energy on that negativity, right? The show speaks for itself and I, for one, am happy to be a Shamy fan! Whew! I feel better now.
MJistheBOMB
You told him good though :-). I saw that. Yeah, staying away from that is a good idea because that dude will come at you with even more bullshit. There are some members of the forum who like to stir the pot all the time with their "we are above anyone who doesn't miss seasons 1 through 3 as much as we do" attitudes. Drives me nuts. LOL. That's why it's great we have a thread like this to come escape from that every day. Love your siggy, btw!
howwerollintheshire
I never realized how great Jim's butt was until I saw that gif. Wow. And this thread is definitely my escape. A lot of the other ones just make me really angry.
sarah7
How is it that the Shamy thread is always the happiest one in every forum or TBBT-related place I come across? Oh yeah: we love our leading man, we love our leading lady and the show constantly delivers. Yeah, is good to be us I was unspoiled until this week's taping, so I was avoiding you guys, I'll enjoy myself here until next taping at least Hi everyone! That's why it's great we have a thread like this to come escape from that every day. What I don't understand is: this is a 6 1/2 season long series, so far, and the beginning of S1 wasn't even set in stone. I don't understand what makes season 1 1/2 - 3 the "real" BBT. In any case, I've been out of that thread for days now but I was wondering why it's still so active. I honestly think that by replying we're just giving fodder to stir the pot. I just hope that the negativity will stick to those threads and not spread to the episode or spoiler threads because I enjoy myself in there and don't want to get dragged into discussions with someone who finds any explanation/interpretation you try to give tedious. Something has to push him toward initiating some sort of physical display of affection - a hug or kiss (!) - before the season's end. And, I hope whatever it is that pushes him forward is totally Shamy; strange, awkward, and sweet all at the same time. It will happen, no worries I think the writers have been frustrating in sheltering him so much but they're taking baby steps to gauge the audience's reactions to the changes. Given the popularity of the eps where he's shown character growth (if you read Yotube comments or online polls the vast majority love them, there's only one or two "purists" here and there) I think we can safely say that there will be progress between the end of this season and the beginning of the next. Aster7
Happy Sunday guys!! I love this forum too, but- to be honest- the last couple of days I tried to stay away because....I don't know....things were going crazy in every thread. People were arguing over anything and everything....I really didn't see the point of it....Forums like this should be used to relax and share common interests, not to go around accusing and judging. I really don't get it. Besides, I really don't like when someone say that Shamy fans only watch the show for the couple. It could be true for someone, but not for all of us. I am a fan of this show since season 1. I was fascinated by the characterization of these characters ( Sheldon in particular). I loved the friendship b/w the guys and b/w the guys and Penny. Since season 1 DEVELOPMENT was the goal. To show how to different worlds could meet and create a new better one ( sorry if it sounds cheesy). Development is what makes this show so great!! I can appreciate season 6 Sheldon only because I know Season 1 Sheldon!! A couple of months ago I was talking to my brother, and since he doesn't watch any show but has heard about HIMYM and TBBT I was explaining what they are about and why I like them so much. When I finished explain, he asked to me "So I can't just start watching HIMYM now since I wouldn't understand anything being it a long flashback where every little thing is connected and important, while I can watch any episode of any season of TBBT and still understand it." I answered that in my opinion is quite the opposite, you can still watch a random episode of HIMYM and enjoy it, but to truly appreciate TBBT you have to have seen the previous seasons and followed these guys and girls' evolution. How can you appreciate Sheldon grabbing Amy's hand if you don't know season 1-2-3-4 Sheldon? Just an example. Or what about Howard speech to Penny at Berny's door? Again, characterization and development is what makes this show so special and significant, so to those "purist" who feel better that us because we still enjoy the show, I would say that they actually never got it. They didn't understand the first thing about it. Also, I would ask; Are you still the same as 6 years ago? If so, I actually feel sorry for you. Sorry for the outburst, but I really wanted to say these things. Maybe I should have posted this in other threads, but I really don't want to feed them... Sorry for the outburst, but I really wanted to say these things. Maybe I should have posted this in other threads, but I really don't want to feed them... The part in bold is so true!! I was just reading some comments on Youtube a few days ago on the video of Penny and Sheldon having THE talk and one person went "Why did she freak out so much?" to which another guy replied "Have you been watching the show?". There's no way to appreciate the development if you don't appreciate where Sheldon comes from. If the writers hadn't emphasized over and over all the quirks and issues that Sheldon has in the past, all this that we are discussing would be just like any other thing. Yes, HIMYM has a carefully constructed plot, but the characters are a lot easier to grasp for an "average" viewer. As for watching the show just for the couple. I've said it before, I do not watch THE SHOW for the couple, but I do watch it IN ORDER for the couple (well, I started watching it in order to understand Amy's development, but it turned into a Shamy thing). I would have never started watching it in order and religiously if it weren't for the Shamy because to me it'd be like watching the Simpsons. What's the point of watching that in order? You can enjoy the episodes as they pop up on tv. But the Shamy added a whole new dimension to the show. To me it's like when they added the mythology to TXF, it added a backbone to the show that wasn't there before and even the unrelated episodes started having a new meaning.
