phantagrae Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 i honestly think after february is going to pure torture cause of how spread out everything will be That's why I like having the episodes taped--if I get desparate I can rewatch this seasons eps, and watch whatever they rerun, as well. I've also got a few eps downloaded to my iPad, and I can watch them at work--while I'm working, of course... The only problem is my iPad is only 16gig, so I'm going to have to delete some of the episodes if I'm going to download more of them. I guess. It's kind of aggravating, since I paid for them. Hmm... koops Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 i honestly think after february is going to pure torture cause of how spread out everything will be It's already torture because even though I do enjoy all episodes what's really torturing me is Shamy stuff and we know we aren't getting any in the next two eps. It's going to be sooooo long to wait until the next one. *sob* Spook - when is your thesis submission deadline? I'm submitting between April and June sometime (June 30th at the latest). But lots of things are not working right now so I'm quite frustrated
stardustmelody Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Spook, sorry to hear things are not working as you had expected and that you are frustrated. At least once everything has been submitted you will feel a lot better and can breathe. I agree that it is already a bit torturous and only going to be worse. It is almost as if they wean us for the summer by stretching things out for a long time before then.

koops Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) Thank you Stardust. Yeah, I cannot wait to submit, although the viva will be the real scary part. *shudders* Btw, going back to Shamy, I know we always say Amy hates ST/SW but is she really anti sci-fi? I just rewatched the Beta Test Initiation recently and she seemed pretty happy watching Dr Who with Lenny and Sheldon. eta: Oh a new Shamer! Welcome! silverangel Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 (edited) Oh we all know that. Maybe I should rephrase that. She hates *watching* ST, not playing ST Especially with Sheldon since that episode in season 5. Sheps88 Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I don't know if this has already been discussed, but I find it titillating. In The Cooper/Kripke Inversion, Sheldon tells Penny and Leonard to tell Kripke that his coitus with Amy is "frequent, intense, and whimsically inventive". That being said, I understand his reasoning behind the first two, "frequent" and "intense", since he is attempting to convince Kripke that his work is suffering solely from the fact that his sex life with Amy is so demanding of his time. But why add "whimsically inventive"? I think Sheldon enjoys the idea of having sex with Amy, but more to the point, I think he enjoys thinking that he will be great at it. He seems to carry an adorable, nonchalant, and delusional confidence about the matter that may just help him get over all of his phobias. I'm hoping that he can hold on to a bit of that confidence while Amy is present.

Spook, I think Amy doesn't "hate" them, but doesn't understand his fascination and obsession for them. I think she is willing to put up with them (can stomach the process of watching if made to), but just doesn't see the attraction to them. Does that make any sense? Sheps, I think that the 'whimsically inventive' along with the frequent and intense words are the four most important words (besides "It's a possibility") that came out of that episode. It tells me that Sheldon not only probably fantasizes about it, but believes that when they do have coitus that they will be all of those things. They will have it frequently, it will be intense and yes, they, as scientists, will be experimental and playful therefore the whimsically inventive aspect. He knows that neither of them have experience so they will be "making it up as they go" so to speak.

That he like to thinking about himself making love with Amy in conversation with Kripke he is so confident and macho compared to Kripke and his attitude is like Yeah I can have sex and you not... so I think that is big step for their relationship. A big step to have whimsically inventive time with Amy. Edited February 20, 2013 by silverangelD

The reason that the "whimsically inventive" comment intrigues me so much is because Sheldon has been nothing short of clinical when it comes to sex. "Whimsically inventive" is an entirely new perspective for him, or at least it is new to the audience. Looks like Smelly Pooper may not find sex so clinical afterall

ShamyFTW Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 I have never heard of this Paleyfest. It seems intersting. I'm in Texas but there is an IMAX Theatre in Dallas that is going to show it. If there are still tickets left I will buy one. I just don't have anyone I know interested enough to go with me!!! Ugh....

"Whimsically inventive" is an entirely new perspective for him, or at least it is new to the audience. Looks like Smelly Pooper may not find sex so clinical afterall Oh I think he has definitely had a whole new thought process going on about sex. You are right it has always been clinical in the past (the concept to him) and actually I would say he equated it as messy and sticky most of the time so that means he found it rather disgusting. But I think he has been having more and more urges and finding Amy more and more appealing, even though he has been attracted to her for a while. His attraction was driven first and strongest by her mind, but I also believe he has found her aesthetically pleasing to him all along. But now, he is a man in love. He may not have labeled it or perhaps knows he is in love, but refuses to admit it yet. A man in love is going to look at the whole prospect of enjoying a physical relationship quite differently. I think he is starting to see that it could be fun and pleasurable, thus he can now equate the act to new words. Phanta, I keep thinking about her description and I suspect her description would differ today than back then as well. But it is amusing how vastly different they describe their future intimacy. silverangel Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 She's certainly sure that he will be thinking about only her as she said to Bernadette in the parking episode, and she knows what she will do if Sheldon propose to her during sex, that her ovaries would grab on him and never let go :icon_redface:
