It was bascially his eyes had a puffiness around them and a shadow under them that usually comes with a lack of sleep. He looked very tired through most of the episode. Definitely when they added color on him it probably helped, but I don't think it was the shirt color as much as he was truly tired. I am guessing he had severe dry eye from lack of sleep because that is what they looked like to me. That and given he did lay down during the taping...I seem to recall a comment from either Monique or Kellee that night that he appeared tired as well. I forgot about the comment until I saw the episode, but it was pretty clear to me he was very tired. I have never seen him look quite that tired before on the show (unless scripted in as part of the show). Kudos on gaining another BBT fan! That is cool. So are they a Shamy fan as well? Perhaps this opens up an opportunity for a joint project with Sheldon? Maybe it introduces the idea of a move...like leave UCLA for another University (Cal Tech)? Oh yes! saweco Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I just re-watched and noticed he looked pretty tired. To me it just seemed there was a lack of the usual brightness to his eyes as well as a darkness underneath. Also, I can't explain how happy it made me to see Amy on Skype from work. Her interactions with the monkeys was hilarious and that mixed with this new relaxed conversational style with Sheldon made my night. Well, to be honest, my night would have been completely made if they had used the wife beater tag rather than showing the "previously on the Big Bang Theory" beginning. But whatever. By contrast, what he was wearing at the end definitely is his color. He looked quite nice in that last scene. Would pay money to see him in that wife-beater, though. In other news, I just got a public "thank you" on FB for getting somebody started watching TBBT. I sent her a clip several months ago when I saw she had a tiara in her office. Now she's addicted. That is so awesome! It's an amazing and special thing when you can get others to love the show as much as you do...or even when you find out that people love the show as much as you did like I did this afternoon at work. It seemed a bit weird when we got the taping report to me anyway and didn't seem to flow with the show so it was probably a wise decision. But it would be nice if they included some of the footage on the outtakes DVD because it would at least allow fans to see him in the shirt. I agree he looked handsome in the last scene, even if still tired. Monique, thanks for the clarification. I knew he was tired and I remembered him lying down on the stairs...so I guess I thought he had fallen asleep, but that makes sense. I get the feeling he was really beat because he looks really tired. I agree that Melissa rocked the purple dress and sweater on V-Day. And her dress at the dinner was nice as well. But the purple was amazing on her. Chaliceanna, your hubby cracks me up. I thought it was cute that Sheldon didn't seem to mind her looking disshelved....hmmmm...... Superlovelexi Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Okay so SHAMY was once again best part about this week's episode. The Skyping scene was awesome! I love that Amy is actively helping make Sheldon kinder and told him to go compliment Penny. I saw sneak Peek of Sheldon and Penny that was online yesterday and I was surprised at how nice Sheldon was being to her. Of course Shenny fans were going go nuts over it, but then watching episode and finding out that only reason SHeldon went to compliment Penny in first place is because Amy told him too that just made my day LOL I love that Amy is so close to Penny and even calls her "OUR PENNY" that was super sweet. I definitely see these four being bffs for long time. I love to see four of them go away on a long weekend together that would be so much fun. I also love the way he smiled at Amy right away when he saw her on his computer. It was opposite of when he answered the door for V-day episode and said hello like he wasn't that happy, but this time he seemed very happy to talk to her almost like he missed her and he couldn't wait to tell her about Fun with Flags. I think he wishes she was there with him, but I like that he asked about her study with the monkeys and how he knew it was in its final stages which is why Amy was so busy. I love writers make it clear that SHAMY know so much about each others lives and keep in regular contact even off screen. I also liked that SHeldon immediately got up and did what Amy told him to do TWICE! I was like damn Amy, got him trained good! I think Amy, Leonard and Penny are doing an Excellent job helping Sheldon evolve socially each is playing their part beautifully and he is responding to them all very well not resisting as much as he use too, but still resisting just enough so that it doesn't look like he's just completely changed either. WELL DONE!! Loved way they were dressed to go out to Penny's play. When did Amy start wearing pretty clothes? lol That hot pink Jacket looked very nice on her and so much better than usual ugly horizontal striped cardigans she usually wears that make her look bigger than she really is. Its obvious when you see her legs that Amy is small, but her clothes make her look dumpy and fatter than she actually is. Seeing her in a nicely cut jacket with no hideous patterns in sight was cool now we just need to work on getting rid of those ugly birth control shoes she wears all the time lol. I don't want her to start dressing too normal though, she still needs to be Amy Farrah Fowler style just maybe a little bit pretty and sexier for special occasions every now and then until Sheldon finally starts to notice her looks for a chanage and Finally compliment her on it. Sheldon also looked nice in his jacket and he had on no dorky tie, he really looked like a grown up man going out on a night on double date with his girl and his bestfriend. It was almost as good looking as outfit he wore in Fish Guts Displacement to go to that funeral.. Jim looks amazing in charcoal gray it really brings out his blue eyes. And now that they've established its Amy's favorite color, I think its cute to see him wearing gray out on dates with her. And Amy is dressing in less drab brighter colors like that bright hot pink I think Sheldon is influencing her style as well cause he loves bright colors and wears them most of the time. All in all, I'm happy with my SHAMY for the week, i think only thing that could have made it cuter is if Sheldon and Amy had been holding hands while they were watching the play, but at least Amy and Sheldon were sitting really close together and leaning in towards each other to talk that was good OPEN body language as Penny taught Sheldon this week lol. koops Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 (edited) Ok, my Shamy comments this week. 1) Holy crap Amy looks HOT with her hair like that. 2) Noticed that Sheldon always wear that gray outfit when he's about to go out with her? 3) Totally agree on the comfort level when they were Skyping. I thought Penny's monologue about love was actually very symbolic of her own experience with Leonard, I half expected her to look in his direction when she was acting it out. Anyway, it was a rather mediocre episode, my favorite bit was of course the Skype scene. I'm so looking forward to seeing where they go with the rest of the season, they are so incredibly comfortable with each other now. Have you noticed how much he SMILED at her while they were chatting? I don't know that Amy is done done with the monkeys, that was only her nicotine study and she has the cocaine one too. BUT you all know how I would DIE of happiness if that actually meant something and they could get her to work with Sheldon next season. Oh I can die happy after that. I did like the FWF mainly because Sheldon was hilarious in it. And I LOVED the Skype. The only other scene that really struck me as fun was Leonard asking Sheldon to remove all his "toys and games" from his bodily possession. Loved the comfort level between them as well. Also thought Sheldon's attempt to be "natural" and "open" in FWF was freaking hilarious! He looked downright pervy...maybe even a bit predator-like? I'd like to see him practice that body language with Amy. I was actually a little jealous for her during that scene. Amy's earned a little awkward arm-behind-her-on-the-couch action, gosh darnit! Sheldon being moved by a play about love? That was something bizarre, usually he would be totally dismissive and sarcastic about anything that's that hippy-dippy. So there's 2 things, they were either OOC for the sake of the whole Penny-is-a-great-actress thing and didn't bother with his characterization or we are starting to see his softer side come to the surface more and more. eta: TGP, if I can't have #13 may I please have #9? I'm pretty peculiar with my numbers for a variety of reasons, it really distresses me to be any other than those two. LOL. Or #3. I wonder when he really "invite her in... to his world" I especially love when he spread his legs... oh mmm yeah And Amy talking to the monkeys especially that moment "They're no good without the lighter..." was great... She was so confident, light radiate from her and confidence in everything that she does. Not only in that moment but recently. Sheldon learned so much from her and then when he goes to Penny to thank her, and then to accept the invitation,he did it because Amy told him so. So he's in love. He trusts her and I think it will become increasingly apparent. This is not manipulation or games from Amy's side because she loves him and she gently, with small steps helps him deal with his phobias and quirks. From his side, this is love too, because he more and more surrenders to her , and he trusts her so much that he does things which he didn't want to do. He believes her in that moments. This is so sweet. And thanks to this we are approaching, really slowly, but we are getting closer to that moment when he will be ready for more physical and intimate relationship. This is a foreplay from the writers side, they caress us so far, for something more we wil have to wait and enjoy of their caress of Shamy. And this is another proof that he does things that he finds repellent, but he do it for her, and because he trust her. For the beginning he did not want to go, but when he saw how good Penny was in that play, he were enjoyed it, even if that play was about love.
