Erm, I tried to join Fanforum and got this email in return:

"Unfortunately your registration at Fan Forum did not meet our membership requirements. Therefore your registration was deleted."

WTF?

What?  Seriously?   How strange.  I have never heard of anyone being denied over there.   It has to be an error.  I am trying to find out from the board moderators for BBT why it could have sent out a message like that...what kind of thing might trigger it in other words.

Thanks Stardust. I'm trying again just in case it was a system error. If not, we were simply not meant to be. :p

These chats are crazy. I always plan to stay for half an hour, an hour and three hours later I'm still there. lol.

eta: Since I'm nothing but consistent in my internet life, and spook was taken at FF, I've changed my username so I have the same in both places. Also, when I realized spook spelled backwards could be a nickname for Sheldon my mind was officially blown.

But yeah, feel free to call me whatever. :)

'koops' did confuse me for a moment. The correlation with Sheldon is awesome though. :D So did you manage to get through in FF, finally?

Regarding Pon Farr.. I remember that point came up in our FF discussions, a long time back. A question that occurred to me.. we've actually seen Sheldon from the last 10 years, because we first 'met' the 2003 version of him. So if we're thinking season 7 may be significant, do those earlier 4 years not count? Or should we be counting his 7-year time starting from when he first met Amy 3 years back - which would be in line with Amy's 4-year plan? :)

I was thinking more in terms of the symbolism for the show rather than a Sheldon-timeframe for actually having Pon Farr. The show will soon reach its 7th year and Sheldon this year is starting to consider the "possibility" so it'd be fitting if next season would be about him starting to deal with his attraction to Amy, the same way he did with his feelings this year.

But I wasn't the one who mentioned the 7-year thing, that's just my interpretation. I can't remember who came up with it last night, maybe they have a different take on it.

The chat last night was a bunch of fun! I can't wait to do it again! I can't believe it lasted for three hours. I had to go to bed eventually after an hour and half.

koops- That's a good idea. I have the same name over at the other one too, although I haven't posted in ages. I prefer this forum over the other one.

Now I'm wondering if I should make my forum name the same as my tumblr name so that whoever is on that knows it's the same person.....  hhhmmmmm....

Quite interesting that Sheldon had no problem at all to "punch" Penny a little bit when they where filming Fun with Flags. Have we seen that kind of "normal touching" for Amy yet? Interesting that Sheldon can touch Penny like that if he can't even hug his girlfriend back. Well, he at least touched her arm in 6x14, but this still feels a bit inconsistent, I don't know? He had no problem to pat Leonards head at 6x15. I think they are trying to give a message that he's getting over his touching issues but... We should see same kind of normal touching for Amy also. I would like to see that, and I think it is already coming. But maybe it is a bit bigger cake for him to bite because it's his girlfriend and his affection for her and there is always a potential for all kinds of hippie-dippie feelings when he touches her. He knows that, so he has to accept and not to deny that he is feeling those kind of feelings and actually enjoying them.

haha those chats drained us of all discussion points Monique.

Anyway, Catlina, I do agree. He also patted Kripke on the arm in 6x14 when he went "That's hard cheese Barry". That's why I keep saying that this insistence with having him not touch Amy is getting a bit ridiculous. Unless, like you said, there's something brewing that will make sense in a future ep in the same way 6x10 made more sense after 6x14. But if it isn't done on purpose because of him trying to reign in or make sense of his hippy-dippy feelings but just to keep Sheldon "Sheldon" it makes no sense. Imo.

Although, the touching thing was one of those quirks that were turned off and on at will even in the past. He did high five people, arm-wrestled with Raj, etc even before this season. So I don't know if his touching more people this season is really the writers trying to make a point that he's getting over it. I'd rather he were getting more comfortable touching Amy than more comfortable touching in general.

I'm wondering if it's on purpose. I once saw a movie (can't remember the name) in which a character's friend points out to him that he shakes hands with everyone in the room, in a gathering, except the woman he has a secret crush on. That's because he's afraid of the feelings it would inspire in him (because the crush is supposed to be illicit). While Sheldon's feelings for Amy are not illicit, they're still unfamiliar and a little scary to him, so I can see him holding back because of some such (perhaps unconscious) consideration.
