I just posted something really inflammatory on another thread.  It's sure to get me some heat.  I'm just really tired of negative comments about Mayim's and now Kate's physical attractiveness.  Their fictional love interests on the show are obviously OK with their looks.  Can't that be good enough?

 

FWIW, like many people I grew up knowing what the "ideal" body type and face were, and was painfully aware that I was far, far from that ideal.  Despite years of thinking no man would want me because of my looks, I have now been happily married for five years.  Girls should all think they're pretty.  Disparaging remarks about these women (both of whom I happen to think are lovely) contribute to the culture that undermines girls' body images.

 

Sorry about the rant.  As you were.

I'm so sorry for how that Thread made you feel. Sometimes it can get so frustrating when certain people decide to bash characters based on their physical appearance. It can really hit home...

 

While I was always a girl who physically had the so-called perfect figure there was something about my physical appearance that made people see me as far from ideal. Coupled with the fact I refused to be a simpering fool around guys and men but rather was sarcastic to the point of being Rude when encountering anybody who tried to give me shite. What can I say? I was always a strong willed person who refused to back down whenever I was told off not understanding the point.

 

Makes for a uncomfortable period in youth.

 

And that Poster in the other thread: For a moment I was confused. Until I realized I had Blocked them. Sometimes Blocking people is a bane as well as a boon. Posters should Not get away with that type of shite! Don't like a character: Fine! But that does Not mean that a poster can rag on them or their appearance. (What drivel!) *Annoyed & Angry*

Re Shamy, I'm really looking forward to how they progress in the end if the season and what tone they'll end the season on...a kiss would be great!

SilverAngelD I love your signature pics - especially the one where we can see in slow motion where Amy is approaching Sheldon. He sees her coming - and does nothing to stop her! Only thing we can see him doing, is that he blinks his eyes before she kisses him. He just lets the kiss happen and wanted to kiss her back!   If Sheldon would have wanted he could have ducked the kiss, but he didn't. Amy also said that she hoped that he wouldn't take what she was about to do as a comment on what they just did. She didn't say I but we! So she must have felt his lips kissing her back. Oh my that kiss must have been a hot one although she was in drunk and didn't remember it the next day. I wonder if he tasted the cranberry juice on her lips while kissing her? (or whatever she drank on that night, but she mentioned earlier on that scene her burps taste like cranberry juice ). What passed through his mind there?

TLA brings one topic to my mind - I want a scene where Sheldon tries to seduce Amy. I don't know how far that is yet, how or why it could happen, but I want to see it. I wonder if he'll make some comments about Spock having his mating rituals every 7. year. 

 

Thank you sweetie. Oh yes I like that moment to.He looks at her, he knows that her face is getting closer, and closes his eyes, puts his lips to kiss, as if he wanted to see how it is. And it is fascinating. He enjoy it because before that moment when Amy i saying  that she hoped that he wouldn't take what she was about to do as a comment on what they just did and after the kiss there is a moment of silence and he look at her without any  grimace or any negative facial expression. His face is still. and calm as he wanted to contemplate his moment. So sweet I love that moment.

 About Spock's pon farr every 7 years I think that they will mention about it and this could  be fun about this, and I think that it opens opportunity  to make Sheldon do his  move to the phisical side, and if  Spock did  it then Sheldon will be curious and will want to try.

Anyway, have people read what BangerMain posted in the Penny thread?

 

Then we will see the unfolding of Amy's long range plan for the capturing of Sheldon. Chuck Lorre has said that the Shamy is fun new territory and they will be front and center for the rest of the series run after the expected extension beyond season 7

 

Does anybody know where Chuck talked about this?

More importantly, I don't understand how people who can't see it feel the need to bash on it for months and years on end. There are some things in the world I don't see, but I prefer to stay out of them and not rain on other people's parades.

I took this as 1. she took it affectionately as you said and knew it wasn't that serious a statement, and 2. she was too emotional to let go because she was crying and was letting it out on his shoulder. Both reasons made me happy.

I definitely took it that she took it as "That's Sheldon...covering his feelings and not really meaning what he is saying" and also just wanting to linger longer in his arms.  She clearly was enjoying it and drawing comfort because she was so emotional from the beautiful gift he gave her.

Hey ya'll so I was just rewatching the episode where Sheldon and Amy go on their first  real "date" date and Penny drives Sheldon there and eats with them.  And something struck me about what she said to Sheldon to get him to go on the date in first place that really hit home to me in a way it didn't the first times I watched it before seeing all these awesome new Shamy episodes this season that really made me go wow the writers have been subliminally giving us great SHAMY romance messages since very early days of their relationship.

 

Sure the obvious one is when they first met and Howard said "Good God What Have We Done!" that indicated the real birth of Shamy and that it would turn into something HUGE and HILARIOUS!  I got that one loud and clear very first time I saw the episode.  But I'm a late comer to TBBT movement, so I didn't realize how much that statment would terrify some of the more fans that have been watching since day one and yet excite others.  I'm glad I came in late, so I didn't have the same sort of bias opinioned that Sheldon had to remain a certain way, because I saw birth of Shamy before I even saw the pilot so for me every thing has always been backwards lol

 

But what really struck home for me was always how Sheldon asked Amy if she wanted a beverage right after she told him that "All forms of physical contact up to and INCLUDING COITUS is off the table!" and we get our first glimpse of SHAMY eye coitus.  I mean just look at way Sheldon looks at her right after she says that.  His facial expression way his eyes narrow seductively and how his body language is so open and he puts his arm out and leads her towards the counter as if to say "oh really, you're saying I can't have you woman well will just see about that!"  lol. Dont' challenge Dr. Cooper, he will always want to fight back! that is clear pattern in interactions with Sheldon.  And, I always go back to what Mary Cooper who knows her son best said "He thinks he's so smart he is NO DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER MAN, you tell men not to do something and its all they want to do.!"  Such words of wisdom there lol and it for me I've always felt like that was proven true because Sheldon asked Amy to be his friend again right then in front of his mother just because she made point to tell him that she didn't think they were compatible and he had to prove her wrong.  Well same principle applies with the coitus.  Amy establishing early on that there was no way it was going to happen, set Sheldon on course to open up to Amy in a way he never has with a woman until she came to want him even more than he wants her now lol.  BRILLIANT WRITING!

 

But, back to my original point about first date and Penny, well Penny said to Sheldon to get him to go on date "Okay, Don't think of it as date, think of it as GETTING TO KNOW FUTURE MOTHER OF YOUR CHILDREN!"   BAM! right there Penny the awesome SHAMY shipper that she's been since the start set it up and basically told us that yes one day Amy will be the mother of Sheldon's overlord super awkward genius babies because that was what made him decide to go on date, not just prospect of dating her, but prospect of someday having children with her which harkens back to the original idea that Amy had taken coitus off the table back then and had no more interested in doing it than Sheldon did at least not in the conventional "normal" way or so it appeared for a long while, but now just look at them and LISTEN TO WHAT THEY SAY! 

 

Amy enjoys being spanked by him and now she says stuff like "MAMA NEEDS A BATH!" and "Everytime I see Sheldon I feel like my loins are on FIRE!" Sheldon enjoys feeling strangled like a boa constrictor by her hug and now says stuff like "When the two of us get together boy howdy is it MAGIC! "Tell him my coitus with Amy is Frequent, Intense and Whimsically Inventive!" .  SQUEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!  lol  Forget any Asexual stuff these two are now totally most sexual characters on the show! lol  Still the change has happen so naturally it took penny going OMG!!! and freaking out when she finally askes Sheldon about sleeping with Amy for lot of people to even realize just how far they've come.

 

Penny got Sheldon to admit "ITS A POSSIBLITY" just two and half years later that he and Amy will get physical and sleep with each other and he said and I quote "I'M WORKING ON IT!"  but I think he's really been working on this since the very first day they met in that coffee shop and especially going back to that original first real date they had where he still seemed so asexual and robotic and so did Amy back then yet Sheldon still choose to inquire (very curiously I might add) about Amy's previous sexual encounters and revealing all of Penny's too.  Sure it seemed innocent enough back then for him to ask about Amy's sex life.  But, he did say that he thought "THIS IS AN INTERESTING TOPIC!"  and when he asked "how many sexual encounters have you had?" once Amy told him the answer he seemed very pleased by her answer.  He smiled and nodded his head then went back to eating like it was very natural to find out this information for him and he later said he saw a whole new side of her that night.  He's very clever boy indeed, no matter how clueless he seems on the outside. lol and writers are clever as well.  They still keep people guessing, but its always been RIGHT THERE! 

 

Hindsight is always 20/20 of course, but looking back there are so many more subtle yet no so subtle indicators of what's coming and what has already happened this season alone well lets just say personally I think that this "theoritical sex life of SHAMY" that Bernadette mentioned them having is actually so much sexier, funnier and unique then relationships of all couples on tv right now that actually are having real physical SEX!  I mean its such an interesting different way to think about sexuality as not just being a physical, emotional or even a spiritual experience, but as a Theoritical one where fans can create theories about their sex life when it started, how its going now and when exactly it will end up transitioning from theoritical to more physical.  But, for me this is the FUN PART!  sure when they finally do it that'll be whole new kind of fun, but the theorizing and the looking back and seeing all the dots (or strings)  connected little by little to make up SHAMY universe well isn't it just AWESOME!!  what they've done with them so far?  I mean i think so especially when you really think about how all of its slowly been coming together and closer they get to discovery the closer we get to this couple as fans. 

 

I just don't know what to name this SHAMY theoritical sex theory, but I have a feeling Sheldon would have a fit if we didn't name it after him and give him most of credit so I'm going call it the Cooper-Fowler Coitus Connection or  perhaps Coitus String Theory would be appropriate lol

 

 

And yes before you even ask.. I know I am too crazy about the SHAMY, my mother had me tested for it and I got an A+

I don't know that the writers were planning THAT much in advance. When Sheldon offers her a beverage after she says no physical contact, I never took it as he wanting to prove her wrong, I thought he was intrigued precisely because that would have been something he'd have said. The whole point of that scene was to show that the only way Sheldon would consider getting to know a woman/dating is if she's like him. And when Penny convinced him to go on a date saying "the future mother of your children" it was because they were plotting to start making babies in a test-tube, rather that because she knew that that would be happening in the future. 

 

But, it is pretty clear that they were dating in anything but name from the moment they met. Everyone treated them as such and even they would talk of each other and the relationship as if they were dating, sometimes right after denying that they were. Sheldon in particular was doing it all the time.

 

On the note of S4, I was just thinking last night though, about how when she threw up after kissing him he stuck around for like an hour to take care of her and even made sure she was comfortable to sleep before he set off. Again, people made such a fuss in 6x10 that he would take care of her because of the germs but even back then he stuck around a woman that was vomiting and obviously touched her etc. If those were not massive signs even then...
