You have great insight into their relationship superlovelexi. Especially about  when Mary Cooper said that he is no different from any other man. She was talking about his stubbornness but I think that we can refer it to anything that  concerns Sheldon including emotional and phisical aspects. For now we can't see it yet but when the time comes I think we will see it. Because when he finally really going to want have sex, he will wanted to prove that he isn't worse than Howard and Leonard. He  always wanted to be  better than them. Of course, in the foreground will be love for Amy, but stubbornness and a desire to compete  is in every guy. So, love for Amy, stubbornness and desire to compete is a great combination with benefits for Amy.  And, just like his mother said "He thinks he's so smart he is NO DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER MAN, you tell men not to do something and its all they want to do!"

So we can said that he will wanted to prove that  his sex life is frequent, intense and whimsically inventive, because we can see that in that scene with Kriepke when he suggests Sheldon that ...we both know what your problem is... You have a girlfriend... my work would suffer to if I was gettng laid all the time... he  liked that it made such an impression on Kripke. This conversation with Kripke take him to converstion with Penny and Leonard when Sheldon admits that he is working on it and that coitus with Amy is possible.

So the conclusion from this is that his stubbornness works in favor of Amy, she just has to pull the right strings. I think that she have already done it , but this  right string, about which we think,is   waiting for  the correct turn.

So, we just have to wait and enjoy their long preparation for the intense and whimsically inventive time.

Yes, there was something intimate about it definitely.   It actually was a bit strange because when I watched it I felt a bit awkward....like I had walked in on some couple doing something far more intimate so I know what you mean. "Sheldon Cooper is now in a relationship with Amy Farrah Fowler", would he have dared to announce that to all his friends? Or has he done that later on? Would he dare to change his relationship status that he is engaged (maybe later in the series)? I think they haven't mentioned about their marital status on Facebook.
 It is obvious Shamy are at least friends at Facebook. Even Alex mentioned Amys Facebook profile on 6x16, so either Amy has (partly) public profile or she is friends with Alex so she can view Amy's interests there which she mentioned when searcing her a V-day gift.

Is it just me, or did Sheldon seem especially cheery and relaxed when he was videochatting with Amy on tonight's episode?  It seemed really striking.  He exuded...warmth.  Suddenly there's more of a closeness than there was before.

 

I posted this the night the episode aired.  I went back and pulled it up to see what exactly I posted.  The intimacy jumped out of the screen.

Yes, I think they most definitely are in a relationship on FB. Kripke knew he had a girlfriend too. With the speed with which he uploaded his photo with Lovey Dovey, he strikes me as the type who'd update something like that.

Exactly, im glad some else understands my coitus theory. Its fun reinterpreting all the Shamy dialogue and seeing more than just the obvious surface answers. ;-) its only going get sexier between them I'm sure lol

Yes I am guessing that he did that even before he likely made it home.  He probably whipped out his iPhone while either Amy or Leonard drove him back home and updated their status (with the signed RA in hand).  He is definitely the type to do that, especially given the fact he was worried that other guys might take away from him what he believes is his....i.e., Amy.   So I think he would definitely update it in order to prove to other men that she was "off the market" so to speak.

Yes...I love that interview because this was when she first started on the show, yet there was such flirtiness between the two that you could not deny their chemistry.   They clearly are Shamy fans as well.

I agree, there was a special touch of warm familiarity and intimacy in their video chat this time. Their exchanged looks and smiles, Sheldon's expressive body language demonstration and how they totally got each other on that issue. 

 

My favorite moment of the hug is when he seems to protest and she just pulls him closer. It was such a sign of her understanding that he didn't mean it seriously, and feeling even more affection for him after his familiar wile.

 

Aww, my favorite Shamy interview. I mean MaJim interview. But in some ways it's hard to tell the difference.. they both have that deep 'relationship of the mind' connection going on.

I agree, Pomita, about the hug.  When she pulls him closer after his affectionately delivered snarky comment, it was as if she remembered him from the previous time she hugged him where he said he felt like he was being strangled by a boa constrictor and then asked why she stopped.  It was as if she has learned by his little snarky comments that he doesn't really mean them, but that he really wants more.

Jim is a little flirt in that interview. There's connection of the mind between them like you said. Their body language said that they are really into each other,  there's attractiveness between them.  They listen to each other with great attention. I love them

Hey ya'll so I was just rewatching the episode where Sheldon and Amy go on their first  real "date" date and Penny drives Sheldon there and eats with them.  And something struck me about what she said to Sheldon to get him to go on the date in first place that really hit home to me in a way it didn't the first times I watched it before seeing all these awesome new Shamy episodes this season that really made me go wow the writers have been subliminally giving us great SHAMY romance messages since very early days of their relationship.

 

Sure the obvious one is when they first met and Howard said "Good God What Have We Done!" that indicated the real birth of Shamy and that it would turn into something HUGE and HILARIOUS!  I got that one loud and clear very first time I saw the episode.  But I'm a late comer to TBBT movement, so I didn't realize how much that statment would terrify some of the more fans that have been watching since day one and yet excite others.  I'm glad I came in late, so I didn't have the same sort of bias opinioned that Sheldon had to remain a certain way, because I saw birth of Shamy before I even saw the pilot so for me every thing has always been backwards lol

 

But what really struck home for me was always how Sheldon asked Amy if she wanted a beverage right after she told him that "All forms of physical contact up to and INCLUDING COITUS is off the table!" and we get our first glimpse of SHAMY eye coitus.  I mean just look at way Sheldon looks at her right after she says that.  His facial expression way his eyes narrow seductively and how his body language is so open and he puts his arm out and leads her towards the counter as if to say "oh really, you're saying I can't have you woman well will just see about that!"  lol. Dont' challenge Dr. Cooper, he will always want to fight back! that is clear pattern in interactions with Sheldon.  And, I always go back to what Mary Cooper who knows her son best said "He thinks he's so smart he is NO DIFFERENT FROM ANY OTHER MAN, you tell men not to do something and its all they want to do.!"  Such words of wisdom there lol and it for me I've always felt like that was proven true because Sheldon asked Amy to be his friend again right then in front of his mother just because she made point to tell him that she didn't think they were compatible and he had to prove her wrong.  Well same principle applies with the coitus.  Amy establishing early on that there was no way it was going to happen, set Sheldon on course to open up to Amy in a way he never has with a woman until she came to want him even more than he wants her now lol.  BRILLIANT WRITING!

 

But, back to my original point about first date and Penny, well Penny said to Sheldon to get him to go on date "Okay, Don't think of it as date, think of it as GETTING TO KNOW FUTURE MOTHER OF YOUR CHILDREN!"   BAM! right there Penny the awesome SHAMY shipper that she's been since the start set it up and basically told us that yes one day Amy will be the mother of Sheldon's overlord super awkward genius babies because that was what made him decide to go on date, not just prospect of dating her, but prospect of someday having children with her which harkens back to the original idea that Amy had taken coitus off the table back then and had no more interested in doing it than Sheldon did at least not in the conventional "normal" way or so it appeared for a long while, but now just look at them and LISTEN TO WHAT THEY SAY! 

 

Amy enjoys being spanked by him and now she says stuff like "MAMA NEEDS A BATH!" and "Everytime I see Sheldon I feel like my loins are on FIRE!" Sheldon enjoys feeling strangled like a boa constrictor by her hug and now says stuff like "When the two of us get together boy howdy is it MAGIC! "Tell him my coitus with Amy is Frequent, Intense and Whimsically Inventive!" .  SQUEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!  lol  Forget any Asexual stuff these two are now totally most sexual characters on the show! lol  Still the change has happen so naturally it took penny going OMG!!! and freaking out when she finally askes Sheldon about sleeping with Amy for lot of people to even realize just how far they've come.

 

Penny got Sheldon to admit "ITS A POSSIBLITY" just two and half years later that he and Amy will get physical and sleep with each other and he said and I quote "I'M WORKING ON IT!"  but I think he's really been working on this since the very first day they met in that coffee shop and especially going back to that original first real date they had where he still seemed so asexual and robotic and so did Amy back then yet Sheldon still choose to inquire (very curiously I might add) about Amy's previous sexual encounters and revealing all of Penny's too.  Sure it seemed innocent enough back then for him to ask about Amy's sex life.  But, he did say that he thought "THIS IS AN INTERESTING TOPIC!"  and when he asked "how many sexual encounters have you had?" once Amy told him the answer he seemed very pleased by her answer.  He smiled and nodded his head then went back to eating like it was very natural to find out this information for him and he later said he saw a whole new side of her that night.  He's very clever boy indeed, no matter how clueless he seems on the outside. lol and writers are clever as well.  They still keep people guessing, but its always been RIGHT THERE! 

 

Hindsight is always 20/20 of course, but looking back there are so many more subtle yet no so subtle indicators of what's coming and what has already happened this season alone well lets just say personally I think that this "theoritical sex life of SHAMY" that Bernadette mentioned them having is actually so much sexier, funnier and unique then relationships of all couples on tv right now that actually are having real physical SEX!  I mean its such an interesting different way to think about sexuality as not just being a physical, emotional or even a spiritual experience, but as a Theoritical one where fans can create theories about their sex life when it started, how its going now and when exactly it will end up transitioning from theoritical to more physical.  But, for me this is the FUN PART!  sure when they finally do it that'll be whole new kind of fun, but the theorizing and the looking back and seeing all the dots (or strings)  connected little by little to make up SHAMY universe well isn't it just AWESOME!!  what they've done with them so far?  I mean i think so especially when you really think about how all of its slowly been coming together and closer they get to discovery the closer we get to this couple as fans. 

 

I just don't know what to name this SHAMY theoritical sex theory, but I have a feeling Sheldon would have a fit if we didn't name it after him and give him most of credit so I'm going call it the Cooper-Fowler Coitus Connection or  perhaps Coitus String Theory would be appropriate lol

 

 

And yes before you even ask.. I know I am too crazy about the SHAMY, my mother had me tested for it and I got an A+

I just like looking at SHAMY relationship in different way from the norm.  Its not that I don't see the normal thing that most people see with them I definitely do!  But, beause Sheldon and Amy always take their own unique approach to way the view "normal" things I like to do the same thing they do with the show because it makes it more interesting and fun to take what seems pretty obvious and look at it from different angles and read different viewpoints on it.

 

I think Sheldon has always realized that Amy was lot like him from the start, but I still think that his hindbrain thinks about things differently then his prefrontal cortex does.  His prefrontal cortex focuses always on what is logical or finds way to reinterpret the things he likes that may not seem logical to others and make them sound superior even when arguing about random things like Superheros or zombies vs. mummies etc.  But, when it comes to his relationship his hindbrain is slowly peaking out more and more.  I think some of it Is intentional from writers and some may happen concidentally as they go along trying to make this couple seem funny. 

 

But, even going back to beginning and picking out old quotes like I did, they have all these double entrendre meanings that make them extra funny because you can either look at it from your prefrontal cortex logical way of reasoning it out or try to look at it from a hindbrain more whimsical way of reasoning it out.  I know most fans choose to look at things LOGICALLY and use their prefrontal cortex to explain it all, but IMPO both ways of reasoning are equally interesting and totally valid because both fit into framework of show and of way scientists interpret brain functioning   There are lot of other ideas and reasons as well that I've seen other fans come up with that are different from my own and not exactly logical either but they still can be interesting to see how we all interpret same things so differently. 

 

SO, from now on every time I watch an episode I'm going try and look at SHAMY and other couples through both ways of reasoning, using pre frontal cortex and my hindbrains  because all though one is more logical and easier to understand the reasonig behind it, the other is much sexier and more FUN to think about! lol

I am so excited tomorrow is a taping day.  Monique and Kellee, you two excited?  I bet you are.   Let's hope it is a really great episode, although I can't say I have been disappointed in any of them yet..some I like better than others, but overall I have liked them all this season.   I am dying to know what this new episode could be about.  I hope we get promos of the one coming on March 7 as well soon.  The photos were shrewd in avoiding the girls and how they looked dressed up.
