tmp
Speaking of Penny in Shamy episodes, I always cry in laughter when she bursts into 4A when he's playing bongos at 3 in the morning and goes "I don't care if Richard Feynman was a purple leprechaun who lived in my butt!" LOL! My husband has picked up on that line, replacing Richard Feynman with whatever is appropriate at the moment.
koops
Ok, so it sounds like this isn't a Shamy ep either. You know what that means. From next ep on things are bound to get hot. I'm going to die in anticipation. chant with me: "Tara, Tara, Tara!" Edited February 27, 2013 by koops

Catlina
So does this mean he actually, finally touched her a little bit there? "Sheldon quickly pulls Amy's body in front of him." At least something!

koops
Regardless, it seems to be turning into an incredibly regular thing to have some degree of touching in these last eps. Good sign.
silverangel
Oh wow...it is so hard for me to choose...let's see, here are my favorites: 3.23 - because Sheldon meets Amy and is immediately drawn to her 4.01 - because they go on their official first date 4.03 - because he goes nuts without her - 25 cats 4.13 - because it is the first road trip that Sheldon and Amy take together and love the look on his face on the panel when she asks about women wanting penis' 4.20 - one of my most all time favorites because of the experiment on their friends, the implied suggestion of future coitus and the eye-coitus, tea-sharing, etc. 4.21 - the drunk kiss, what's not to love? 5.03 - "she's not for you" karate chop. Loved that 5.08 - The hug and the way he looks over at the motel just for a split second considering it 5.10 - It became official - she became his girlfriend, relationship agreement and all 5.12 - the princess got her tiara 5.16 - Sheldon wants to be near Amy and takes his vacation at her lab 5.23 - one of my most favorite all times because her experiment was working - and she role plays in the ST uniform 5.24 - Sheldon initiated hand hold, need I say more? 6.01 - Spiderman speech 6.02 - handhold at movies and have cute conversation between them 6.09 - it was adorable seeing them work together against Howardette over the parking spot 6.10 - it was adorable seeing him take care of Amy and just his comment about caring for her wellbeing 6.14 - it's a possibility! 6.16 - the sweet V-day episode My least favorites are always those that don't include them nor reference them. I wasn't crazy about the Zarnecki episode that much, or the one on bullying. I love everything that you wrote. You read in my mind.
silverangel
I think that now there may be more such moments. The writers can not stand in the place, they must decide on something, when it comes to Shamy. It would be great if slowly, in small steps dare Sheldon that he will do,about what we thinking of, that he would kiss Amy first. There's new tread on the "Show discussion": Sheldon the "boyfriend". What do you think about this tread? Edited February 27, 2013 by silverangelD

koops
Actually, the thread question was very civilized I found, but I've replied only twice and then left because I am sure it is going to attract a lot of haters and I don't want to end up having the same arguments over and over again. I can see Moonbase's points. I don't share his dislike for the slow growth storyline, and I do think Sheldon is more smitten that he perceives him to be, but I think we have all said many times the same thing he's essentially saying: Amy can be the exception to the rule when it comes to Sheldon being Sheldon and they can have him behave as usual with others. Surely if even a purist would be happy with that scenario, it's a win-win situation. I do think we've reached a tipping point, I don't know.. I can sense that Sheldon's about to really give in at some point soon. I don't mean physically necessarily, but that he'll let his guard down and allow himself to be more overtly smitten. Amy's been way too good and amazing lately and he's essentially already admitted it to Penny twice this season.
silverangel
Its the same troll....Ignore. I was thinking the same way. I was there, and as koops pointed in post on that tread, she wrote her opinion before they will make a shambles there.I agree with that this tread attract many hatters. I understand that someone wants to know others opinions but this is just a sitcom , someone created it for fun, for us to enjoy it. rachelshamyfan
yeah you know if their relationship was like the others in the show it would just be boring, i like the slowness and Sheldon is showing signs of being ok with the hugging and now using her as a human shield
koops
I think the problem is always the same. People have very specific ideas of how they want a storyline to play out and some people are more rigid about it than others. I would have been happy with both the scenario Moonbase suggested, with Sheldon being overly smitten and saccharine with her from the start, and the one we got, with the slow growth and development. Both could have worked equally well. The third scenario, that would have been my choice if I were writing, would have been for Sheldon and Amy to slowly awaken to love and physical desires together instead of having her jump ahead and him lag behind. But for me as long as it's written well and it's realistic and entertaining I don't really mind. It's the writers' story at the end of the day. I don't know if that thread has turned to shambles yet, I've been keeping out since I'm scared of looking at it. lol.
Kiru Breezy
If fans had their way with storylines and characters the show would fall apart. I have ideas but TPTB should NEVER take them, its their show and their characters.... And as for Moonbase, its pointless - he does not see the CHEMISTRY. He does not get how they are together, he thinks if they wrote it differently, then maybe he could see it better - not true. Chemistry is an empirical science, its natural, it flows and if you cannot observe that and appreciate it in its raw form, no amount of modification if going to let you see it. silverangel
Actually the question was reasonable. With only one thing I agree, that he should be nicer to her, and she should be his queen, but this is Sheldon, and everything about him has to develop at their own pace. The writers did a good job, because Sheldon, compared to the first seasons, is now more mature and sees the others around him, and it is such a minor thing, but they can not suddenly change him too much because it has to be reliable. He comes slowly to the fact that he loves and wants Amy, and that has great friends. If it all would come too fast, they have come to end this sitcom, and they have probably a few more seasons, certainly 7th. These arguments we repeated over and over and they make their theses over and over, so what's the point to create such thread Edited February 27, 2013 by silverangelD
Kiru Breezy
I don't get the 'nicer' thing, He's had very sweet moments with Amy replete with sincerity. She is equally matter-of-factly and aloof with her demeanor. I don't get the complaints. Sheldon is not 'nice' by nature, so to let him be overly nice or whatever would be a disservice to the character.

Chemistry is an empirical science, its natural, it flows and if you cannot observe that and appreciate it in its raw form, no amount of modification if going to let you see it. I don't know about the chemistry though. I mean, Jim and Mayim have amazing chemistry in RL, I do think that if you write the characters as less rigid, not even all that much, the chemistry on screen would become more and more obvious. I think we see hints of it with the eye-coitus and especially when they were more flirtatious in S4, but I think if you wrote them in scenes where they are allowed to be more flirty, or smitten, or challenge each other more it would become more overt. If you write a character has having to be unresponsive and rigid it's hard for the actors to let the chemistry seep through, imo. Having said that, there are also plenty of couples on tv where they are written as if the actors had chemistry and they don't, and it's horrible to watch. It's like it's been shoved down your throat. So if there's no chemistry you can write anything and it's not going to work. In Majim's case I think they have the chemistry but I think it's still very much reigned in and may not be as obvious to others as it is to us. Especially because a lot of what people consider "chemistry" is sexual chemistry. And Shamy are kept well away from sexual stuff for now. Pomita
From the latest taping report.. I love how Amy gushed over Sheldon's organizing tendencies, and then begged the others to agree with her. Another hint of the special connection between them.. the one which whether anyone else sees it or not is irrelevant. Also, I'm so waiting to see him pull her in front of him as a human shield. And her reaction. :D Edited February 27, 2013 by Pomita

You're right about the chemistry between them, connection of the minds, of attraction to each other. This is something that not everyone can see. Something elusive, that to see it, we have to have in ourselves a little bit of empathy, to understand the meaning, get a feel for the character, to understand the feelings. We have to feel it in our hearts, and it does not mean that someone does not have love in one's life and that is why it is so fascinating. Just because someone has a lot of love, can feel something like that, and see Shamy chemistry, and what is more than a physical relationship, which also has a meaning, just everything has to come to that time, because if it was too soon, we would get bored. Waiting for this is so sweet and wonderful, exploring with them magnificence of the relationship between two people.
