Pretty much where he grabs her off the bar stool she's sitting on and pulls her in front of him to hide from Howard. LOL.

He does?  So does he grab her by the waist or how does he grab her off the stool?   I keep getting a visual of his arm swooping around her waist and pulling her off.  LOL!

About the Latin music orgy, yeah you probably right. Your explanation is the most reasonable. This  probably isn't so much associated with the type of music, only with that what people can do during the dance.

And about "battery-operated hotdog" apparently he understand some innuendo some do not. This is all a little inconsistent. For example as it was in the episode The 43 peculiarity he talked with Leonard when he said that that Penny's  colleague  can be a hypnotist, and can spend the best time in his life while she thinks she's looking for corn (I'm not sure I quoted it right), then it would seem that he understood back then ambiguous innuendo when he did move his head. So what's the deal with it. :icon_lol::icon_redface:

But the "hotdog" isn't about innuendo.

It's a device and he does not recognize what it is for.  To him it looks like a hotdog.

If it were more "realistically" shaped, for instance, I think he might figure out what it is supposed to be.

If someone said, "Penny has a vibrator", would he know what a "vibrator" is?  Would he know what one would look like?  Not if it hadn't occured to him to look up such terminology.  He could very well think it was some sort of seismological device.

Again, I think it goes back to bostrich's theory that Sheldon understands sexual references when he knows the conversation is about sex, or when he himself makes the sexual references, but when something is completely out of context, he doesn't get it.

The "hotdog" is completely out of context.  Why would he imagine that Penny would have such a device, if he even knows about such things.  He might know about actual sex acts between human beings, but if he doesn't really know about sex toys, then why would it occur to him that Penny would have some such device?

So he sees this device in her closet and the only description he can come up with is "hotdog".

He's like the child I read about who asked his sister what was in a box of Kotex.  She was flustered and simply said, "Sanitary napkins", only to find that her little brother later used them to set the table.

Now we know Penny's no stranger to having 'a date with BOB', surely a bestie would help her friend 'update her toothbrush' (especially given Amy's current situation)? ;)

I know...I was thinking the same thing.  LOL!  But then Amy has always been quirky, so I guess that is the message here...she doesn't do ordinary "toys".

This made me burst out laughing.  I can so see that happening, and teenage girls are easily embarrassed about that kind of thing anyway.

Monique, did Sheldon respond to Amy when she asked him about using her as a human shield?

Yes, something about Howard looked taller so he couldn't help it. LOL. Just before Howard and Bernie entered, he mentioned he was wearing high heels (you'll understand it when you see it).

Silverangel, your profile pic is making me drool (as are the gifs in your signature). Yeah, whenever he decides to launch that rocket, I'm sure Amy will be ready to count him down.  ;)

Oh I love that picture. I can't tell you what this picture is doing to me because it so censored :icon_redface::icon_lol: , but I can tell you it makes my weel turn. ;)

I wonder if he finds out about Gerard, did he would be jealous, but given that he did not understands what is a hot dog with batteries for,

he probably would have to see  it... Oh how I would love to see his face then.. :D

I totally don't get why everyone was silent at that. Of course it's a likeable trait! Seriously, how can anybody not find that likeable?

Preach it! In my kitchen, I have all cups, plates, spoons etc arranged in order of regularity of usage, and all biscuits and packaged snacks arranged in order of expiry date. It bothers me if the structure is disturbed. And no, I didn't start doing this after getting to know Sheldon. My father is the same. :)

Lol, the way we're questioning Monique about the details of Sheldon picking Amy off the stool reminds me of Howard's line of inquiry about kissing, in the old days. Cheeks? Lips? Chaste? French? :p

Regarding how much Sheldon knows or gets about sexual matters.. I think its generally implied that he gets the theory (probably after reading the book), but not the practicals, if you know what I mean. ;) He may know what a vibrator is, but he wouldn't be able to identify one.

But the thing is, yes, it might not be that obvious but he DOES do nice things for her. TIP, he stayed up with her all night because she was upset, and they weren't even dating yet. He includes all sorts of stuff in the RA that he wouldn't normally do: date nights, singalongs, etc. He watches the shows she likes with her. 6x10, he takes care of her for days and goes way out of his way to do so, he doesn't just pick up medicines for her and brings her food: he reads to her, puts her down for naps, draws her baths, spends enough time there that he needs a key. V-day, he was ready to go out and dress up to have dinner with her. Yes, at other times he gets Alex to buy her presents or doesn't get that standing her up at her family's party isn't cool, but he already does nice things. It's just that people who have a standard notion of romance don't get that unless it's red roses and declarations. Also, where the hell would Sheldon have the experience to even know what's expected of him as a boyfriend and how to be "nice"? He does what he can given who he is and what is experience is. But Sheldon doesn't do any of these things for ANYONE else. In his own way he already treats her like she's his queen.

I agree. I think the highlighted part is especially significant. There are people who are nice and caring and giving to everyone around them, because that's in their nature (Jim is probably one of them). But Sheldon isn't that person, by any stretch - so whatever he does for Amy, he does especially for her, going out of his way to learn caring and learn compromise just for her. That makes every little action that much deeper.

Also, when we talk of Amy's unselfish act in giving up her plans for V-day and doing it in Sheldon's style just to make him happy, it's good to remember that Sheldon already does similar things for her, if not with as much grace as she showed. For him, going out on formal dates with her is not his idea of fun, but he does it just to make her happy. Both of them are stepping back a little for the other person, in the areas on which they differ.

haha same! although my cupboard is organized by meals, rather than expiry date. the problem is I share the house with 3 other people who constantly mess up the organization of pots, pans, plates and glasses and then I have to put everything back where it was. and I have specific mugs for specific drinks, my housemates implicitly learned that so they know not to use them. lol. And I have all different types of rotations for clothes: usage, season, type. Although I don't have a daily pj rotation :p Organizing is so much fun and makes life so much easier.

You're right about the fact that he's doing it for her, and they both  are doing great things for each other, but  don't you think  that she is expected  a little more after such a long time dating? On that scene when she was upset when he did not want to live with her. It's not about living together just as she said she was patient with him for two years, and what the hell. She understands everything about him, agrees  on everything, and he's for her cute as a button with everything. She loves him and he her too, and this is most important. She helps him through it and he learned a lot and changed and it is wonderful.

Thanks Monique!
Oh wow, this means we have still 5 episodes we know nothing about. 3 of them will be sweeps episodes in May (if I remember right?).

So there has to be at least one Shamy(-related) episode among these showing something where they have been heading all season for these two. I just cannot wait what it's going to be. It just feels they have something in store for us. They just can't leave Shamy withouth a culmination for a season. I don't want it to be a hug only, because he has even hugged Penny and Wil Wheaton, that wouldn't be enough.

I have a feeling Shamy is going to be heavily featured at the end of this season. They've pretty much sorted out Lenny now, so lots of room for Shamy stuff. I do want an Amy-centered episode though, she's the only one who hasn't had one yet.

I sooo wish I could be organized like this! My surroundings are constantly in a state of disarray. Plus, my husband is just like me so it's a complete disaster! I need to find a friend like Sheldon to organize my life! :icon_lol:

I'm hoping for an Amy-centered episode too. But, has there been a Bernadette-centered one?

Wow, this thread does move fast. I just ventured out to look at a couple of other threads and bam, 5 new posts. :p

You're right about the fact that he's doing it for her, and they both  are doing great things for each other, but  don't you think  that she is
expected  a little more after such a long time dating?

Oh, I would love to see a little more from him. At this point, it will be nicest if it's in the form of a gesture of physical affection, and I believe we will get something in this season. They won't leave us Shamy fans all high and dry!

I look forward to an Amy-centered episode, too. The character and Mayim have so much more potential which can be used; something related to her family and antecedents, or her professional life, would be great. I would be okay with Sheldon just playing a supportive role in such a storyline.

Spook (I'll continue with this name, if you don't mind) - I can understand how living with 3 flatmates may be a challenge, especially if they're not as organized. I was just remembering how my mother-in-law came visiting at our place (me and my father's) and wanted to cook something, and my father was like 'we can't let you do that, you'll mess up the whole ordering!' There was an uproar. I had a hard time explaining him to her. :p This was many years back, but now I can identify him as distinctly Sheldonesque, in some ways.. and probably myself, too. I just censor myself more.

And if they spend some time on Howard and maybe Bernie then May sweeps will be full of Shamy goodness!
