phantagrae
I'd hate if he is saying just in general about desire and not specifically making it seem like it could be a personal matter. Like it's frustrating to have a desire for math problem and then not be able to finish it is unsatisfactory at this point to me. We know that he feels that way already. Obviously. He wouldn't have his success professionally if he was some quitter. Hopefully when she fully types up the report we can tell that it's more on a personal basis, like him being frustrated with the physical contact issue he has with Amy. He's obviously talking about his compulsions--not being allowed to finish some project (like he was with Howard's closet)--juxtaposed with her obvious frustration at having her desires thwarted. His comment: "You don't know what it's like to feel so frustrated, with your desire thwarted..." is obviously meant to mirror her feelings, so, yeah, he's not talking about his relationship with her. I hope not. What a bummer. We must not forget though It WAS a Tara episode tonight. I know she wouldn't write some stupid line like in that last episode that aired. She loves Shamy too much I feel. Hopefully the full report will clarify. Edited March 20, 2013 by GothicTexan123

I know she wouldn't write some stupid line like in that last episode that aired. She loves Shamy too much I feel. Hopefully the full report will clarify. I don't think it's a bummer. It's the typical style of humor--he says something, thinking about himself, without realizing that Amy knows exactly how he feels, just on a different subject. And just because he doesn't realize that she understands that very same idea of frustration and thwarted desires in that moment of conversation doesn't mean that the whole episode is going to be a bummer. It's just meant to be a funny line.
koops
I'm sorry, I'm a bit lost about that line. Why is it a bummer? She's just making a sex pun when he was talking about something else. Why is that disappointing?

silverangel
Message from Cathi! The episode was relationship centered, so Shamy had some very good stuff - Amy is trying to help Sheldon with his "compulsion" for closure by forcing him to leave things unfinished. He tells her, "You don't know what it's like to feel so frustrated, with your desire thwarted..." You can imagine Amy's reaction. Mayim's facial expressions were priceless. "Sometimes I sit on a washing machine, but I don't think that would work for you." Discuss! Good Morning everybody. Oh wow I'm about to faint right now. Thanks goldenorb and Cathi! I don't know, why would we be disappointed? I think it's clear he isn't that knowledgeable about "technique for ladies". While he might get sexual puns or even make them himself now when it comes to men stuff, I wouldn't expect him to get the female side of things. Especially if it doesn't relate to intercourse. I agree. Siting on a washing maching is a ladies way to " relax" . I don't know how she might help him to relax only one way comes to my mind, we can put in one line with siting on washing machine, but there's touch involve, and but not her's his . She only can hug him, being close to him and being for him... Edited March 20, 2013 by silverangelD
silverangel
It's not even a matter of change for me, I get annoyed because it defeats the whole purpose of their relationship. The purpose of their relationship isn't the end goal of having sex, it's how they get there. To suggest that they do it on a whim while drunk or as an emotionally disconnected experiment goes against everything it's meant to be about. Who the hell cares that they have sex if it means nothing but a laugh? Agree. They way how they get there can be full of sweet moments, and a lot of funny moments. Amy experiments and his maturation and coping with fear and shame are the most interesting, the best. His denial that he feels something, but he knows that he loves her, and the greater impact she has on him, and that happens, the more he cares, it will be even more visible. koops
Just overanalyzing the photo we got from Bill. I love it that it looks like she's going to be making him tea at his place while he works. I'm always a sucker for these hints of domesticity.
ShamyFTW
Good morning all! Damn, I spilled my coffee a little after reading that line. The writers love to tease the shamers!
ShamyFTW
I know the writers talk about Amy "building a better boyfriend" and it seems like she gets to help him in this episode, but I hope she gets something back in return for her efforts . koops
Just found this on Ausiello's: An upcoming episode will find Amy helping Sheldon overcome his psychological fear of unfinished business. “Sheldon has a problem leaving tasks uncompleted,” explains Jim Parsons. “If something goes unfinished, that’s going to eat at him and keep him up at night, if not worse. So she tries to free him of that.” Nothing new but explains the episode a bit better. It doesn't sound to me like she's trying to change him for her benefit, which is what the "building a better boyfriend" line seemed to imply (and I wasn't a fan). But I do agree, we need an episode where he helps her with something. This year we've had her help him with the parking spot, how to behave during the funeral, now this. He took care of her when she was ill, but the balance is still skewed in his favor. eta: The more I read the teaser for this episode the more I feel for Sheldon though. I'd be climbing the walls and ripping my hair out if someone were forcing me to leave things unfinished. I can't even sleep over things I have no control over. LOL. When I actually stop and think about what it must be like it makes my skin crawl, I'm not even joking. If he puts up with it because she makes him do it, that's BIG love. Saw something mentioned here the other day about it I think that was the one taped last night (if they still used it). Jim mentioned having to sing "soulfully" at PaleyFest. Chaliceinnana
Arthur Davrill? Yay! Are they going to kill him and bring him back to life? I love Rory! and not just because he is River Song's father. I really only started liking Amy Pond after "Okay, if River came out of there... she must be all right." I won't even watch Dr. Who without Rory and River. It is just Matt Smith mugging, bad sciene and an annoying ingenue. Whoops. Wrong forum. I wonder how they get him up to the apartment. Trickery? saweco
I think we're just speculating it's Arthur Darvill as he's the only famous Arthur we can think of. Am I right or has it been confirmed that it's actually him?

Am I right or has it been confirmed that it's actually him? There aren't that many famous Arthurs that would be relevant to BBT. There might be some old guys. With a name like Arthur Darvill, he sounds like he should be playing Lord Grantham's crazy uncle on Downton Abbey. Bitching about gout and lower standards. Boy, I hope he sings... I apologize if my post comes out with a tiny font size. All of a sudden it's all tiny, even though I changed the font-size to 12. I guess I'll see once I hit the "Post" button... Whew--fixed it. I guess I accidentally hit that "superscript" button...
