bigbangsheldon Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 about sex? well that could mean anything.....
CaitAmber Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I'm on the sexual frustration bandwagon at the moment. The season has started with Leonard telling him "Your relationship with Amy is turning you into a red-blooded man with sexual desires", to which he react snappily and dismissively. And here comes a whole season of bizarre sexual undertones on his part. Like I said earlier, and forgive me for the copy-and-paste, in these last few eps in particular, where his snappiness seemed to come out of the blue after V-day: Chloe pointed out that in 6x17 Amy has the ponytail and looks all pretty. 6x18, she's Snow White. 6x19 she's dressed up with that fugly dress that we do know from 6x11 Sheldon likes though 6x20 she's dressed up nice at the funeral. Then you get this massive sex-metaphor ep. Is it all going to explode in the last two eps of the season? Either she's going to kiss him again and he'll short-circuit and give her the kiss of her life or he's going to say something REALLY nasty to her face and set up trouble. eta: But I think we really need to see some sugar soon. I think a big part of the reason why some of us react so badly lately is that we're literally starved for it. Literally, it's like they had lead us up to something for the V-day ep, where we were all (mostly) convinced that a kiss was coming, and then they denied us our own closure. So I hope we get to knock down our dominos very soon. Bulls-eye with the sugar comment. I feel like a caged lady on her period, surrounded by chocolate and not being allowed to have any. BAH. Reading all these insightful posts are making me far too excited for this episode. Seriously, stop it. It's not even playing soon, I'm already too excited and sugar-deprived as it is! one thing, now after you guys are not so upset anymore about the strange Dead-sentence and the episode in general: "I told you this climax thing is a good development!!!! And you almost cornerd me ...... in the chat. But I am not pressing it into you THAT I WAS RIGHT!!!!" YEAH YEAH WHATEVER. D: All hail to the all knowing mattress! She totally has a teenage view of romance, probably from movies and the like that doesn't really reflect reality and probably not even what she really wants. Like "Oh, I do like a bad boy"/"As evidenced by your boyfriend and his fear of hamsters". The things she envisions are very different from what she wants in reality. Same way as Sheldon sees himself as a whimsical elf but everyone else knows he's a control freak. I really hope we're on to something and this is not just the writers making it up as they go along. Next year is year 7, time for Pon Farr. And Pon Farr has an aggressive component to it. I'd totally dig the Vulcan parallels. I'm also really curious to hear what he says to her about being a great girlfriend and how that bit plays out. If done well, it could be what we've been saying for a while now, that he says all these nice things about her behind her back but never to her face. They had such an opportunity for a near-kiss there! They should have totally had her think he was going to kiss her and then close the door. LOL. In the words of Bawwy Kripke. Ahhhhhhh! Koop(er), you're killing me here!
AdorkablyMe Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 (edited) Sheldon isn't your typical boyfriend though...I dunno, I still find him endearing Edited March 21, 2013 by AdorkablyMe
koops Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 (edited) Hey, it could still be all unconnected sex puns that have no real meaning in the big picture. I mean, it's blatant that Sheldon is sexually aware now, but I still don't know whether they are actually taking this anywhere. Regarding the less "pleasant" lines they give him, if they are just meaningless lines, I'm more worried that it's going to turn into another round of sex!Amy type jokes or slut!Penny type jokes. The kind of jokes that they let spin out of control before they even remotely realize nobody finds them funny anymore. OR at the very least they need to compensate the nasty lines with some sugar (I really need to stop saying sugar today), otherwise they make Amy look like a punchbag. But... why are we upset about this last episode if that line isn't in there? It sounds like a hilarious episode other than that one line that is 90% likely to be cut. eta: Apparently THE line was never even uttered. LOL! So we don't even have to worry about that. Check the spoilers thread for more info. Edited March 21, 2013 by koops
ShamyFTW Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 I am looking forward to Bob Newhart and Jim Parson together. That will be something to see. I loved the facial expressions of Mr. Newhart!

keie Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 To me what their doing with Shamy is taking them through all the types of relationships you would normally have growing up. Like for ex: 6-7 year olds being teased by their friends, *in a sing song voice*"You've got a GIRLFRIEND!!" "NO, I DON'T! SHE"S JUST A GIRL WHO'S A FRIEND.....not a GIRLFRIEND!" 10-11 "Will you be my girlfriend?" "Sure, let's hold hands" "Ewww, no, gross!" 13-14 year olds Girls: He is soooooo cute! I wish he would kiss me *sigh* Boys: Wait a minute.....she has boobs. So it seems to me that they are allowing Sheldon and Amy to experience ALL the types of relationships that they would have had as children if they hadn't been different then their peers. I'm loving watching this unfold. Also HI!

I'm loving watching this unfold. Also HI! That's what I've been saying, that their relationship is very junior high, especially for Sheldon, where boys go from disliking girls and thinking that it's stupid to like them, being embarrassed to have a girlfriend, then figuring out they really like it and finding that it's cool to have a girlfriend. And all the hand-holding and kissing and whatever follows on the heels of those stages.

I'm just trying to figure out whether they are going somewhere with this newfound sexual awareness of Sheldon this season, be it frustration or an outburst or what have you. He definitely has sex on the brain, the question is whether it's going to come out in the open this season or not. silverangel Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 It may not come out totally, but I am sure it will further PEAK...... Yes I agree. There will be no obvious signs, and it will not be clear as day, but there will be a lot of undertones and puns, but in the end, the more and longer it will be grew in him, this sexual tension and frustration, the more it should be visible

The thread has been going so fastly that I should scroll 10 pages back to read where I was. No, not at all. It is more that Sheldon is having a sexual frustration meltdown and didn't know what it was he was feeling. LOL! It may lead to some form of physical touch (hand hold, hug, kiss of some sort), but I would definitely say nothing more than that, if even that. It may be more of an awareness thing than anything and the audience will be clued in on it. These are all clues adding up to a bigger clue. Like drop hollows out rock, like sexual tension in him will lead, him to perceive things on which he didn't paid attention that they are close to him. This will lead him to see, feel and smell, sweet and beautiful details of his Amy... I hope! keie Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Awww, thank you guys for the warm welcome :D I'm just fascinated at far both characters have come. In different ways they are both growing and it's because of each other that it's happening. The best thing about it to me is Amy, IMO, is really not trying to change Sheldon. Like, she recognizes that if he leaves her alone with their friends at a dinner party it has nothing to do with her. She doesn't take offense because she knows it has nothing to do with her it just has to do with Sheldon's need for order. At the same time Amy is waking up to the world around her and enjoying the benefits of having a life beyond her work and she just really wants him to have the same feeling. She's excited about LIFE for the first time and she wants to enjoy it WITH Sheldon because she does love (most of, lol) his quirks. Sheldon for his part his trying to compromise his way of life to make room for Amy even though he gets confused about the way to do it sometimes. He's trying though because he knows he has these feelings for her that he's never had before. He doesn't want to loose Amy or the feelings he has for her so for the first time he's making an attempt......and for Sheldon, well that says everything. Editing to add: While all this is going on neither of them takes crap off of each other which I find refreshing. Especially on this show..... If they feel the other is in the wrong they say it! "Amy, you lied to me." "What the hell Sheldon?!" So that's another thing I love about them. Despite all outward apperances they are on equal territory in terms of, I'm not taking his crap, I'm not taking her crap. If there's a problem, they say it and don't just shove it under a rug. I like that. Edited March 22, 2013 by keie
