Shamyfan
Leave Lucy be. I really like the actress. She's really cute and funny It's been only a few eps. We will see how this goes. Maybe it will help raj talk to girls and Lucy w her anxiety.
stardustmelody
I know what you mean but I wonder what I would have thought of Amy if I had been watching when they first brought her on. It takes a while to get an audience invested in a relationship, and Raj/Lucy may not have had enough time to develop. I don't see them keeping her on permanently, but the relationship hasn't served its purpose yet. Raj needs to get some long-overdue lovin' and he needs a catalyst for progress in talking to women. I can tell you that I watched Amy when she first aired and immediately saw the chemistry. I knew she and Sheldon were going to be perfect for each other. There was just a chemistry that came through and I loved her from the first episode. I love the actress that plays Lucy and want to see her succeed in the role, but for some reason am having a struggle with the way her character is being written and the lack of chemistry between she and Raj(Kunal). I don't know if it is intentionally supposed be being held back, but it just isn't instant, like it was with Sheldon/Amy. From posts around the web, I say I am not alone in that, but it doesn't mean that I want her off the show. I just think they haven't figured out how to write her character yet. It isn't really gellin'.

If the writers will show us that they like the same things and just enjoy spending time together, it would help. With Shamy there was no doubt by the time he offered to buy her a beverage that they had a deep compatibility and had, in Jim's words, "made a connection." Chemistry isn't always instant though, so I'm willing to give Raj and Lucy time to see how their relationship plays out.

They haven't really done anything to integrate the character well.

I would like to see that kind of sparkles between them like it was at the first time when Sheldon met Amy. You can feel sparkles between them immediately. And when they met at that cafe, there wasn't some kind of big discussion between them, but from the first time it was there. Chemistry. Between Raj and Lucy there is some kind of curiosity about each other, but I feel like from the Raj side was little more, and Lucy is a slightly more withdrawn. Probably it was supposed to be that way, and I'm realy hoping that they will build the chemistry between them with time. They are cute together, and I hope that they will figure it out how it all will be between them, and that they will have ideas about Lucy's future in the show, and that Raj and Lucy will help each other

koops
They might not be developing Lucy much because they're not planning on keeping her around. Chuck did say not to get too excited, and I do feel it's too soon to give Raj a steady gf.

Chuck did say not to get too excited, and I do feel it's too soon to give Raj a steady gf. While It may be 'too soon' to give Raj a steady g.f., It's not too soon for Raj to get some help for his problem. The fact that he can't talk to Penny even after over five years without being buzzed says it all. He'll never get, and keep a girl without getting some therapy, either chemical or psychiatric (or both).

And that intimate moment when he showed to her how Penny helped him... how to be open Oh I love to watch them so happy when they are together. I miss those moments.... when he told her so many compliments about brilliance of her mind, and these glances like they were alone... just them both and those smiles and eye coitus... silverangel
I watched TLA episode and here are some thoughts I want to share with you. From the beginning, when he came to her on date she was so confidence of, and that she will succeed, it all is in her face and her smile. When he came to her he was surprised by the fact that she want to spend their date night in her apartment, as if that fact make him feel anxiety that something could happend what could make him feel unsafe. I think that he feels that way because he knew exactly what does it mean, dinner with his girlfriend in her apartment... he saw more than once how Leonard and Penny goes for a date like this.. maybe he was afraid that Amy will want to try something with physical part of their relationship. I'm sure she wasn't indifferent to him when it comes to physical desires. His uncertainty and fear he clearly showed when she told him what was going on, what she wants to do, that she wants to increase his feeling for her. She does her little investigation for the experiment and knew that when he come and see what she prepared for dinner and what kind of romantic music she had for him that he will slowly surrender to her. It was so sweet and without manipulations and games. She does it in so simple way, by making him happy and that memories of the meal and the Super Mario Brothers theme from that moment will be associated with her. He can denied, but he knew that given brilliance of her mind, that she will reach her goal. About that chess scene with Leonard we see that her experiment is working, he thinks about her a lot, and can't focus on work, on something what earlier made him happy especially when she does for him such things which he loves. I have some thoughts about that " infernal book" . When Leonard mentioned about this book, Sheldon suddenly became so outraged and started deny like he was trying to hide something. He said that he read this book, and it gave him nightmares. Maybe those nightmares wasn't so bad after all. Maybe those "nightmares" was so good, and so overwhelming him, and maybe Amy was part of this dreams, and this experience scared him. I know that they gave him this book before experiment, but I'm sure that this isn't coincident that they mentioned about this book in that episode when Amy made her experiment. I think that conversation about this book is associated somehow with experiment effects about which Sheldon said. Sexual metaphore or reference to sexual desires and thoughts in him, and that he isn't such robot like we thought. Sheldon feels that her efforts are causing him to have affectionate feelings for her in inappropriate times, but when Leonard said " in a bed or in a shower" he didn't say no... he said " stop reffering that infernal book. He said that he has those affectionate feelings while he worked on equations, he thought of her, but I think that "other" inappropriate times was involved like maybe in a bed or in a shower... I would like to know your opinions my Shamy shippers...

phantagrae
One thing is, they haven't shown anything in common between Raj and Lucy except for their social problems. I wonder if they're trying to figure out whether or not this pairing is going to work. I agree that they need to find something that the two of them enjoy doing together or something that gives their relationship a little more depth other than just social anxiety issues. While this does give Raj a little more to do than sit there and try to impress a woman, I don't know that there's much depth there to plumb. I do think it's nice that in this relationship he is turning out to be the stronger one, the one with more to offer, in some ways, but they haven't filled in her personality very much, so far. Maybe there's more substance in the episode itself that will give her more background or something so that she's not just a conglomeration of her social issues, but a real person. Maybe Raj's part of the finale is finding out that she's just not ready or not strong enough or whatever. I am kind of hoping that she'll be integrated into the show a little at a time, perhaps, just to give Raj more to do than just tag along like everybody's 3rd wheel, but they've got to dig a little deeper for her as a character if she's going to last and be equal to the rest of the characters in terms of real personality. Now, Amy didn't have a lot to go on in her first couple of episodes other than being a female reflection of Sheldon, but it seems like they started to flesh her out fairly quickly. Since they seem to have gone with a sort-of fun-house mirror reflection of Raj in creating Lucy, and since Raj can sometimes be relegated to being little more than his own set of quirks, I think they need to really think about what kind of person they want her to turn out to be. I don't know if it would be a good thing or a bad thing to have her introduced to the gang and maybe quickly accepted by the girls. I don't think we've seen enough of her to be able to tell how that would work.

I would like to know your opinions my Shamy shippers... I think TLA is what set this whole season of sexual undertones in motion with that ST roleplay. I think that's when really started clicking in Sheldon's head, even though I think he always found there was something mysteriously attractive about her all along (hence, the vixen comment). However, I don't think he was anxious about spending their date at her apartment at all, I think he was genuinely just surprised because Date Night is meant to be a proper, couple date, dinner out and all that stuff, whereas hanging out at home is something they do all the time. I also don't think he had "inappropriate" sexual thoughts about Amy at the time yet either. He did say "No" to Leonard's question about bed and the shower. He probably was starting to have sensual thoughts about her (the description of fantasizing about her pale shoulders is definitely sensual, if not sexual), but I don't think he was consciously aware of the sensual connotations yet. I think he only slowly started connecting the dots between Amy and sexuality with the ST roleplay at the end of the episode, and now we'll see if this whole season of sexual undertones that, IMO, kicked off with that episode, is really going to amount to something in the last two eps.
