hi guys, I'm new here.

I love the Shamy so much! they are definitely adorale!!!!!

well, for some reasons we can't use facebook/twitter/tumblr/Youtube and certain foreign websites in China, so it's really difficult for me to get new information about shamy. when I find this forum and see all these shamyshippers, i am so happ!!!! It feels like walking in the desert for a long time, then all of a sudden there is a nice home and all your friends is there...

To be honest, posting here is like an English writing exam for me, I'm so nervous at all the mistakes I make unconsciously in grammar and spelling and expressing

On the subject of Lucy. I'm gonna give her a try and see how it goes :-).After all, who does have perfect chemistry in the beginning? Well, it's rare anyway. The more they get to know each other, the more chemistry they'll have. Here's hoping Raj has found someone that he can be with for at least a little while for crying out loud! LOL. He deserves it.

I think TLA is what set this whole season of sexual undertones in motion with that ST roleplay. I think that's when really started clicking in Sheldon's head, even though I think he always found there was something mysteriously attractive about her all along (hence, the vixen comment).

However, I don't think he was anxious about spending their date at her apartment at all, I think he was genuinely just surprised because Date Night is meant to be a proper, couple date, dinner out and all that stuff, whereas hanging out at home is something they do all the time. I also don't think he had "inappropriate" sexual thoughts about Amy at the time yet either. He did say "No" to Leonard's question about bed and the shower. He probably was starting to have sensual thoughts about her (the description of fantasizing about her pale shoulders is definitely sensual, if not sexual), but I don't think he was consciously aware of the sensual connotations yet. I think he only slowly started connecting the dots between Amy and sexuality with the ST roleplay at the end of the episode, and now we'll see if this whole season of sexual undertones that, IMO, kicked off with that episode, is really going to amount to something in the last two eps.

I agree about that book. It's just made me curious is there an sexual undertones about it, but yeah you right that then he just started his journey into sensual and sexual part of his world.

Though, personally, I love The Launch Acceleration because this hot mess just elevated from there. And it has a lot of awesomeness, with Amy using her neuro-knowledge to hasten the development of Sheldon's feelings for her to a certain point, mentions of Amy's good doings like the Junior Amtrak thing, Sheldon and Leonard having a "man talk", Sheldon fantasizing about Amy's dandruff and SHOULDERS (which bothered me to begin with because we always see her with layers of clothing) with him REACHING OUT TO TOUCH THE IMAGINARY SHOULDERS OF AMY, Amy is in a Star Trek Costume which, I think she came to the apartment already wearing it and it was supposed to be a surprise, Sheldon saying that the book is "infernal" and that he told Leonard, "he's in hell", "Don't stop" and of course, that buttslap Jim gave to Mayim before they shot that Star Trek Roleplay scene at the end.

Not related to Shamy, my apologies, but I made this in dedication to CaitAmber and since she doesn't have a Tumblr I'm posting this here. I am pretty sure all those who join in the Shamy chats will know why I'm doing this and hopefully enjoy the gifset:

I LOOOVE your sig, so much MaJim goodness; and also very good points about TLA. It's definitely another Shamy classic.

really wanted to change my siggy anyway. It's my answer to every doubting soul saying that Jim and Mayim's friendship is imaginary and they're only interacting for the sake of the camera. :p

I believe this is an appropriate time to use this:

Jeanalice...love your signature!   It is awesome.

I just rewatched the last ep of s2. Did Sheldon's hair have red tinge or rinse in it or is my monitor off?

Jim does have red undertones in his hair.   You can see it in many stills, but also it will come out under certain lighting.   Overall his hair is brunette brown, but there is some red undertones (which goes along with his skin tone as well).

I have some thoughts about that " infernal book" . When Leonard mentioned about this book, Sheldon suddenly became so outraged and started deny like he was trying to hide something. He  said  that he read this book, and it gave him nightmares. Maybe  those nightmares wasn't so bad after all. Maybe those "nightmares" was so good, and so overwhelming him, and maybe Amy was part of this dreams, and this experience scared him.
I know that they gave him this book before experiment, but I'm sure that this isn't coincident that they mentioned about this book in that episode when Amy made her experiment. I think that  conversation about this book is associated  somehow with experiment effects about which Sheldon said. Sexual metaphore or  reference to sexual desires and thoughts in him, and that he isn't such robot like we thought.
Sheldon feels that her efforts are causing him to have affectionate feelings for her in inappropriate times, but when Leonard said " in a bed or in a shower" he didn't say no... he said " stop reffering that infernal book. He said that  he has  those affectionate feelings while he worked on equations, he thought of her, but I think that "other" inappropriate times was involved like maybe in a bed or in a shower.

I am not sure about the nightmares being associated with Amy.  I think it was more an exaggeration use of language.  I doubt he truly had nightmares.  But I do think that sometimes photos in books can be very much of a "turn off" as much as some can be a "turn on".   So it could be he just found some of the content truly gross, or...because he constantly calls it "infernal" I think it is because he somehow relates to his "legalistic religious" upbringing here.  He probably was told most of his life that sex before marriage is a sin and sin can lead to hell...hell being fiery inferno.   So he may feel that by looking at such "perversity" that it can lead him to places that isn't right.   Just like when he is feeling aroused by Amy (which I truly believe he was feeling aroused) in the ST uniform, he says to Leonard "I'm in hell" but to Amy "don't stop" because he has the internal battle of..."I am having sinful and evil thoughts" and "I like it too much that I don't want it to stop".   It is like he wears the angel and devil on each shoulder kind of thing.  He really doesn't truly believe that sex is wrong, etc. but I think that upbringing voice comes forward now and again that makes him make comments like that.

TLA is one of my all time favorite episodes, much for the reasons jeanalice mentioned above.

What a fascinating post on imdb regarding this photo.   Would love to get your take on his analysis.

This photo is also a semiotic treat:

- Colour unity: Moving from left to right - the black picture frame; Sheldon’s grey jacket; Amy’s dark blue cardigan and patterned dress of whites and blacks; the grey wall behind them and the floral display of whites/blues/greens on the table in front of them; Leonard’s brownish grey suit; Penny’s black dress and tanned skin tone and blonde hair; the light browns of the floor’s carpeting; and Raj’s grey suit and dark brown shirt and dark skin tone.

- Do the flowers signify a current romance between Sheldon Amy?

- Leonard’s looks perturbed by Sheldon and an “Exit” sign is visible above his head pointing in the opposite direction of Sheldon: Does Leonard want to escape that situation because of the irritating converstation?

- A fire extinguisher is visible between Penny and Leonard - does this remind us that their relationship is somewhat “hosed off” or cooled down? (- “boring” as suggested by Penny recently)? Or maybe the people in it will need to be hosed down later? ;)

- Between Penny’s and Raj’s heads we see a fire alarm - is this a reminder of the mishap between Penny and Raj, ie. the “waking up in the same bed” incident?

Interesting, but a little over-thought, IMO.  dunno.

Earlier on i was just watching the skype scene in Monster Isolation where Sheldon skypes Amy and he is so happy to talk to her and hes excited to tell her about how well the FwF went, was very cute to watch him like that.

That scene was gold, in so many ways. I loved Sheldon's expressions of enthusiasm while sharing his FwF experience and Penny's tips with her, their resonance over 'subtle but powerful', the fact that he rushed off to do her bidding immediately, and even the concern in his eyes when he saw her having a hard time with the monkeys. There was just so much connection.

The analysis of the picture is fascinating, and definitely a product of a mind working overtime. Can't blame them, ours sometimes does the same. :)

Thanks for the sides. I think Raj/Lucy are cute together, from whatever little we've seen of them (which isn't enough to form a judgement IMO). Her character is just a rough framework so far, but I like the idea of Raj taking an assertive role in helping her out of her issues and somehow helping himself in the process. Her running off to the restroom again doesn't seem to bode well though. :p

I'm sure I had more to say, but Jean's sig is distracting me hopelessly, in the best possible way. :icon_redface:

Oh stardust I love your analysis.

:icon_lol: 1. about Amy and Sheldon. I like that flower sign between them. For me it's like the sign of their romance and love that bloom. Amy planted a seed in the heart of Sheldon, and now is a beautiful flower of their feelings. Fragrant delicate and beautiful as all the wonder that they are still waiting

:icon_lol: 2.about Leonard. If it's after when Sheldon said to Amy that she could put out her boobs

Leonard may be little disturbed about conversation. Maybe he want's to get out with Penny seeing her tiny dress with huge decolletage and her very visible two assets.

:icon_lol: 3.about Penny and Leonard. Fire extinguisher between them maybe be a sign of more stable and calm feelings, or maybe it is a metaphor of her's  continuous extinguishing his instincts to propose marriage.

:icon_lol: 4.about Penny and Raj. Fire alarm may be reminded that there was some kind of flame in Raj,  and Penny was under the influence of alcohol, and as we know that alcohol is inflammable   so  fortunately they did not cause a fire, because everything would be ruined friendship and love

Just to be clear...this wasn't my analysis.  It was someone else's post (I put his name on the post).   I just was fascinated by the analysis he did and was curious what others thought of it.   I did like he associated the flowers with romance that were in front of Shamy though.   ;)

I agree it may be a bit overactive imagination working here, but we often do that in the Shamy thread so was curious what other overactive minds might think.  :icon_lol:

Really, people think that? I don't see why. They work together constantly, so it's natural that they'd become friends. If Jim weren't gay, I'd think there was potential for more than friendship. If you look you can see that the people who work together as couples on the show (Jim/Mayim, Johnny/Kaley, and the trio of Simon/Melissa/Kunal) tend to gravitate to each other.
