Honestly, I don't know who I find funnier in this so far, Sheldon or Raj. Gonna be honest though, thought the first few Shamy moments were hysterical, lol. Sheldon is fighting the Shamy with all his might and loosing, lol.

This episode was so hilarious... and I just loved the shamy moments... they were so funny and had subtle meaning as well.  And, sheldon making the sex jokes... even my husband is beginning to pick up on what they are doing with sheldon.  He said, "something's going to happen soon."

My favorite lines

... when sheldon said he loved it it when amy worshiped him

...when amy brought up getting married and settling down

.... when amy said she should have brought her breasts out...LOL

So funny and so good.

I've only seen part of the episode, but the beginning part I did see I have very mixed feelings for.

Yes, it had funny scenes and lines, but I suspect that there might be a meltdown, or at least some venting as a result of a line Sheldon said while talking with Amy. I know for myself anyway, I'm on the fence about it. I'm both hurting for Amy, frustrated by the one-liners we have to deal with every episode, and in general just fed up with dismissive Sheldon.

"You know, I go back and forth on this whole boyfriend-girlfriend thing, but when you worship me it really puts you in the running."

... Koops, where are you when I need you?

Exactly! In my heart I feel like people are going to miss the bigger picture and only focus on the 'bazinga's'.

1: Sheldon and Amy alone in the apartment for date night.

2: The future ( by Amy) being brought up and Sheldon freaking out in typical Sheldon fashion.

3: Amy guiding Sheldon through social protocol.

4. Sheldon RELYING on Amy to help him.

5: Amy KNOWING that even having it stare him right in the face Sheldon miss's cues ( the ridiculous remarks to the  HR lady and telling Amy to take her breasts out).

6: Sheldon making a point to tell Amy he didn't engage in sex with Raj's mom. (Even taking in to consideration what he said after). (Again, IMO, Sheldon is engaging a young teenage version of puberty at this point. He thinks it's gross but is still fascinated by the concept).

I don't want to start a debate, but in my opinion, that was completely in character for him and also serves as a statement of the obvious -- he is, in fact, going back and forth.  He says sex is a possibility in a previous episode, and then several episodes later, he says it's off-putting.  Sometimes he seems to like being a boyfriend, other times, he doesn't.  He is in fact going back and forth.

And of course, he isn't going to tell amy what he really feels/thinks -- not to her face.  He isn't there yet, so for the time being, she is going to get lines like the ones she got tonight.  It's almost like, the more he says things like this -- the more it seems he's trying to convince her, and himself, that it's true.   He's like a preteen boy pretending he doesn't like something, when in fact, he really does.  It's part of his character.

Couldn't have said it better myself!  This was a good one for the shamy... plus it was funny.  good feels all around.

I was thinking about koops during that line..."She's gonna FLIP OUT!"

Don't worry about starting a debate, I'm not interested in starting one either. I realize that everyone is going to take each episode and line differently, because we're all different and we all have varying opinions.

You can explain what you thinks behind the line, but my comment was just my initial reaction to it - it's hard to explain why people react to certain things on an emotional level; but that line just doesn't sit well with me. It might not be as bad when I watch the episode another few times, but at this point that's where I stand with it.

I just hope that all these one-liners and everything is leading up to something good.

I'm sure it's leading to something... and if it were real life, there's no way I would stand for a man talking to his girlfriend that way.  But sheldon is sheldon... and that's what makes him funny.  :)   Hopefully, at some point in the future, things will change and he'll say things to her that he should say.

I agree that I believe the remark is exactly what he is going through...the back and forth nature of it all, especially when with Amy.  I think he is more sure when she isn't around about his feelings than when she is because he is so afraid.   But I do also agree that before this season ends, they are going to have to let this lead somewhere promising because I know as a fan, I don't want to see this back and forth continue into next season and I doubt I am alone.

We'll find out soon enough... two tapings coming up!  I have a feeling they will be good!

What I like was the LOOK Amy gave Sheldon after he said "I go back and forth with the gf/bf thing"  That was hilarious to me.  I did like that Amy and Sheldon were so comfortable together!  AND he asked Amy's opinion about leaving!!!! He trust her opinion! Just like when he looked back at her when he said the professor died and that makes him feel bad.  He wanted her approval that he did it right.

The only thing that I found off putting was Raj's line about Amy. How rude, and she's standing right there.  Wished the writers had Sheldon stand up more for her at that moment.

Sheldon is Sheldon..that says it all!  Speaking of "real" life, Amy telling Sheldon "I'll question if you will be able to find other friends"!  Sheldon didn't disagree.

It wasn't my favorite episode but it wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made it sound. It was funny, and had a bunch of hilarious one-liners. Honestly,  I liked it from a tbbt fan perspective and not so much a shamy perspective.

I <3 Shamy to death. Tonight's episode was great, but I get the feeling that a break is about to occur for the summer. Season finale cannot come soon enough.

Definitely love Sheldon dependence on Amy's opinion. Love Amys disappointment in Sheldons words. Love thatshe wasn't afraid to bring up marriage and family. Love that she demanded a good reason for missing date night.

Go Shamy!!!!!

I'm going to chalk that up to Raj probably being drunk since he was talking with women around. But yeah, it was really rude.

I was laughing out loud throughout this one. :)

Somewhat OT--my CBS affiliate is off the air for some reason. I was wanting to watch Elementary tonight but I'm getting a blank screen (all my other channels seem fine). I'm just glad it didn't happen during BBT or I might have had to hurt somebody!

Did he stand up for her at all really?  He started to but once Raj replied back what he did, Sheldon backed off completely.  I found that very annoying and then having to use Raj's mother as his "example" of sexual release instead of his girlfriend standing there was insulting as well.  Amy was sitting there helping him the whole time and all he did was use her as a doormat.  It was pretty painful to watch.  To be honest, I know many have found the lines funny, but I found them annoying more than funny.   I think when it becomes rather mean it isn't funny and some of his lines were pretty mean.

ETA:  What bothers me about his snarky comments to Amy in this episode and ones we know are following it is that it seems like Sheldon has lost respect for Amy.  That is what his remarks imply.   Not only does it seem like he isn't attracted to her, but also has no respect for her.  That is where I have the most problem.  He used to really respect her, but lately he doesn't show it or act like it.   I am sure it is all leading to where they want to go with the finale, but it isn't a pleasant journey.

I agree with the bolded statement. Shamy had some cute moments, but then we got those odd lines from Sheldon. I'm hoping for some more Shamy sweetness by the end of the season. I did lol at the episode though, and liked how Sheldon looked to Amy for reassurance/her opinion.

I'd watch it again to enjoy but....I was watching with my mother and when it was done she deleted it. DELETED IT! THE HORROR! So, I'll rewatch the shamy scenes on youtube later....but seriously, next time I watch TBBT with anyone, I am holding the remote.

I could be wrong, but i thought that comment about needing sexual release, and then not needing it was because he saw Raj's mother.   I guess I will have to watch it a third time.

I do agree with you about Sheldon's comments.  The horror of it is if the writers still think its funny.  What if they think this is the way the shamy should be?
