Despite all the black clouds, I do find this moment incredibly endearing (thanks to Chloe, gif master):

Oh this was my favorite scene of the episode.  So cute.  Sheldon accepted her advice in this scene as well.

An awesome echo to The Werewolf Transformation as well, where Amy was literally the only person who succeeded in getting Sheldon back on tracks after his "Amy, what do you think?"

Does anyone seriously doubt that Sheldon and Amy will be together when the show finally ends? Calm down. The writers are just stringing you along to keep you watching.

I don't think anyone doubts they are endgame.  The issue is that the way Sheldon has been interacting with Amy with dissmisive comments.  The comments are not throw away lines,  it' become a pattern.  I have a hard time believing someone as awesome as Amy would continue with the relationship. I would like the writers to explain what the hell is going on with Sheldon, not wrap up the season with some shamy sweetness. Uh uh.

I haven't checked the tag today; I'm afraid to ask about the banners...  :icon_mrgreen:

I don't think anyone is worried about that or freaking out because of that. I can't speak for everyone but my issue is mostly with whether I have fun watching them on screen or not. They may end up together in the end but if all I get to watch in between are jabs and bickering, that's not fun to watch, IMO. I don't even think it's an issue of calming down, it's a "work of art", and, as such it can be criticized. I don't think anyone is losing any sleep over it. (At least I hope :p

eta: @Chloe & Lost: The banners just make me roll around in tears so much. It's like it's some sort of religion. KEEP THE FAITH! hahaha!

It's actually pretty annoying to be told to "calm down". I have no doubt that Shamy is endgame, but it doesn't mean I have to like what they're doing now. I started shipping Shamy because she was his exception to pretty much everything. Now that they've taken that away, what am I supposed to do? Be happy because they're still together? Well I'm sorry but no. I'm not the type of person who's happy just because her ship is still canon. I'm the type of person who's happy because her ship followed a logical road, even if it can sometimes be chaotic. I used to root for Leonard and Penny back in S1&S2, but the way canon handled their relationship made me leave that ship a long time ago. I don't want that to happen with Sheldon and Amy.

Yes, sorry, I wasn't talking about any particular scene, and I didn't mean to imply it was negative at all. I think Amy has acquired new social skills thanks to the girls and she is now "passing the knowledge" on to Sheldon. What I was saying is that it's a relatively recent development and I don't think Sheldon's gravitated towards her because she reminds him of his mother. While Amy and Mary do have some things in common in the way they deal with it, Amy has always treated him like a grown up, unlike everyone else around him, and that's what I think made them work in the first place. She gets him and doesn't think he is crazy (or at least didn't until recently).

The best example of that is the Parking Lot ep, imo. At the beginning of the episode, Sheldon gets angry at Leonard for never taking his side and Leonard replies "That's because I can never understand your side!". But Amy stuck by his side throughout the episode. It was a nice little contrast between the way everyone else sees him ("You're out of your mind, Sheldon" - Howard) and she does. I would hate for that dynamic to get lost and replaced with her "mothering" him. He has Penny and Leonard for that.

Amy does seem to get Sheldon and all of his "quirks" as she stated herself in the spoiler alert episode.  However, in the closet episode, Amy tells the group how cute she thought Sheldon was for organizing the cheese, and then after noticing the blank looks from their friends she asked them "Someone, please agree with me"   You do not ask for affirmation for something that you firmly believe in.  I'm wondering if Amy is starting to crack under all of Shedon's quirks.

I would like for Penny, or Bernadette to ask Amy how she thinks her four year plan is going so far.

Even back when she was still very robotic though she did think some of his quirks were weird and called him out on them (the infested chair episode for example). I don't think she was looking for affirmation because she is starting not to believe they are "cute as a button", I think she was looking for affirmation to confirm that she isn't crazy thinking that. It's the first time she was met with blank looks when she says something like that, usually they just reply to her with sarcasm and she doesn't get it.

I so wished we had seen this more during the season. Sheldon holding hands with Amy. Small little sweetness, yet so big and meaningful for them. I so loved, loved this scene at the movies. I remember I was so many days happy after seeing this one scene, so who can say the art of comedy can't affect people in deep level?
Although it's fictional show, it reflects things in real life, although some of the characters represent rare personality types which are not seen so often, but rather rarely. For me, that makes The Big Bang Theory and especially Shamy so, so special for me. I cannot see or feel that with any other show what I feel when I'm watching this show. In their own funny ways, the characters are really deep and credible, since the actors that play them are so skilful and talented. They do an excellent job.
So thank you Shamy, Jim and Mayim, for all the goodness I have had with you, for beacuse of you brought so much joy and comfort to my life. It's like you took the hard stone out of my heart that I had carried around with me for 10 years. Has any other show on tv, any movie or any other couple done that to me ever? No, they haven't. So I hope the writers know that they are handling piece of gold in their hands with Shamy. Please be careful with it.

Oh my favorite scene, this and that scene when  they talking about memorial and that Amy could help Sheldon increase the chances for tenure ... "If this make you happy those other things to" and Amy's smile when she looks at him.

I have absolutely nothing worthwhile to add to this somewhat heated debate about the episode. I just wanted to let you know that PAGES later I am STILL laughing at, "Be quiet, Tiffany!"

Oh  Catlina it was so beautiful what you said.  Jim and Mayim brought so much joy into my life, and it would be great to have people with such attitude to life near and always close, like best friends. I  hope that we will see such sweet moments, like holding hands and that look in their eyes when he said ..."you are vixen Amy Farah Fowler..."  that look  which said about their innocent and sweet love.

I love Sheldon's little touch of Amy's arm to get her attention. It's sweet the way he sort of sweeps her arm with his fingers so gently.

In any case, one of the places I started in terms of forums that talk about the TV shows I like and all was Television Without PIty, which right now has a list of character who they used to love but now hate, and to my surprise, Bernadette is on it. I still love Bernadette, but one of the things they mentioned about her temper going overboard was when she took her Cinderella rant out on the girls. Which was interesting to me, because that particular instance of her temper couldn't be put down to defending Howard on the parking spot issue, nor fighting with Howard because he's done something immature and stupid. It was just her own selfish desire to be Cinderella and not let the other girls be her too if they wanted to be. (I know she might have wanted to be Cinderella for Howard, but there was no need to keep the other girls from being Cinderella if that's what they wanted to be. It wouldn't have affected things with Howard at all.)

As with Raj's comment towards Amy, or Penny's looks of superiority over being the hotter girl, or Sheldon's generally dismissive comments in this episode, or even Howard deliberately enjoying riling his friends up to fight amongst each other (I don't recall Howard ever trying to pit all of his friends against each other in a fight for him to enjoy before), I do have to admit that I feel everyone seems a little meaner at the end of this season. For a show which has always gotten by on it's sweetness and charm, I think I'm still just a little thrown by all of this. Nevertheless, one thing I would note is that it's definitely something across the board, not just with Sheldon and Amy that is making me go, "What the hell, SHOW?"

So there is that. But seriously, "What the hell, SHOW?"

I absolutely love the moment when he lightly brushes her arm with his fingers and asks her advice so seriously (and takes it). It shows that, snarky comments or not, he still values and trusts her opinion above anyone else's - maybe even his own, in certain situations. That's a big thing for Sheldon, and it also reminded me of 'Amy, what do you think?' in TWT. He lets her take the lead in his life so naturally, sometimes, in moments of stress or confusion.

I'm in a different city today, on roaming, and badly internet-challenged.. thank goodness I could at least log in once.

I would really like to give Jim a call and ask him about his opinion on the latest Sheldon snarkyness...........

Anyone have his phonenumber?

He is one of us Shamys and tbh I would kill for getting to know what he thinks about his lines.

:icon_eek:  :icon_eek:  :icon_eek:

He's not just a Shamy, he's the CAPTAIN of the Shamys--like Kirk, Crunch, and Kangaroo.

Here's what I'm holding onto lately.  Though Sheldon may be saying some crappy things, I think they're making it clear he doesn't really mean them.  When he's being sincere, he says he's fond of her and wants her to be his emergency contact because if something bad were to happen, she's the one he wants to be there.  He seems to enjoy their time together, even Skyping when she's at work, and we've had eye coitus a couple of times lately.  He relies on her for social cues and advice.  I'm not saying it's OK that he says these things, but if you want to feel better about it, maybe that's a way to look at it.  Also, remember CL is rooting for them.

Incidentally, I looked to see if there was a writer or writers common to the episodes in which Sheldon has been snarky with Amy.  The only one is Steve Holland, but he was also on some of the really sweet episodes, so I got nuttin.

I checked. It's the same 6 people (Lorre, Molaro, Ferrari, Holland, Kaplan & Reynolds) who have been writing every episode after the Monster Isolation, up to 6x23. The only two eps who had different people on it since V-day were the Monster Isolation and The Closure Alternative. Bill Prady has not been involved since V-day, but he was on TCA. I don't know if the pattern is deliberate or if it's simply due to the fact that these 6 seem to unconsciously have settled on this kind of dynamic lately.

I also get the impression that there's been a bit of a rush in delivering the scripts given that with less than 2 weeks to go to the finale it wasn't even written. It might be that after they changed the V-day ep on the run they might have had to change the subsequent scripts with Shamy and that's why they seem off.

It's hard to tell really.
