Two things I like from this week taping.....

1. I love, love, love, that Amy is the one that tries to help get Lucy to the party. " :) What, she says to Lucy is really touching. 'She was an outsider when she started dating Sheldon and the gang embraced her...' So sweet.

2. SHELDON SAYING LEONARD AND PENNY LOVE EACH OTHER! You guys...... Sheldon Cooper has finally recognized romantic love as more then just a chemical reaction in the brain or some 'hippie dippy' notion!

That said I'm actually pretty happy with the finale. This season seems to have been about growing the character's up. Shamy, growing in their relationship. (In the first episode this season all Amy wanted was for Sheldon to tell her something real that he felt....well WHOO doggy does she get it by the end of this season). HOward and Bernadette have had their up and downs in their first year of marriage and are not just going strong but we will see them seriously start thinking about the possibility of starting a family. Now in the finale, we get Lenny who at the start of the season we're on shaky ground as far as Penny was feeling (thinking about breaking up with Leonard) and NOW strong in their relationship. Leonard not afraid that Penny is going to leave him if he's gone for 4 months or afraid their relationship won't last (like his and Priya's). Penny understanding it's something Leonard needs to do and not making it a big deal for their relationship. :) Raj...... getting so wrapped up in someone's else's problems that his seem small by nature.....so small that he can finally move past his selective mutism and allow himself to communicate with women. :)

I'm happy guys!

As I wrote elsewhere, I find I'm not disappointed with the lack of Shamy in this episode, though of course I would have loved to see some more extension or confirmation of their intimacy - but I feel that 6.23 was HUGE for them, and will come across as especially so when we see that scene on screen. They probably felt they couldn't follow that up immediately with anything momentous enough between them to top that, since this episode is primarily about Leonard/Penny and Raj, and Shamy would have to be squeezed in. I agree with Koop that the pause is better than having some brief workaday or snarky interaction between them in the finale. Some exchange of looks or comfortable body language would be nice, though (and may still be there).

Also, thanks to Keie for as usual pointing out the little bits of positivity. :) Sheldon's 'they love each other' immediately struck me as significant, too.. he's so much freer with that word and that notion, now, he's not camouflaging it with talk of hormones any more. And it was lovely to see Amy reaching out to Lucy to tell her how the group had 'embraced' her.

Stardust - thanks for posting that! Just a few days back, I was checking the Broadway boards too, for any Tony nomination updates (they're on 30 April).

In 2011, Jim did win the Featured Actors category in the Broadway.com audience choice awards, in a tie with John Benjamin Hickey, his co-star in Normal Heart.

Part of me is disappointed that we got no Shamy interaction at all, and part of me thinks it's not that big of a deal. I do think it was a bit lazy because while a big Shamy moment was probably out of place in this episode, given that they had such a big one right before, they could have at least had a moment between the two of them to show us how things have progressed since their D&D sex. But at the same time it's very typical of TPTB to completely stop a couple from interacting after big moments, they did that with Lenny and the ILY. Not saying it's a good thing, but it's not a sign of a bad thing either. I think it's a bad habit that the show has not to address the big occasions right away and try to maintain the status quo, it's not just done to Shamy. They are really reluctant to show the changes in the characters so evidently. I also think the Shamy post 6x23 will have to be a different Shamy, and maybe they want to take the summer to re-group and map out the new direction. I think by now they really need to step up on the physical side of things, and that involves a lot of re-thinking the way they write Sheldon. I think they seem to have done a great job in 6x23 but we have seen how he was all over the place towards the end of the season. They need time to figure that out so that doesn't happen again.

This is how I feel too... and I think its ok to be both. I am disappointed there is no Shamy but its not a big deal

Reading the comments on the taping report page, its annoying that  you "cant be" disappointed that there was no Shamy interaction and still like the episode. I don't think anyone is saying they hated the episode or didn't care for it purely because it didn't have a Shamy interaction.

I dk, I am just annoyed that if you are a Shamy shipper and you don't like an episode, sometimes even inside the Shamy thread and mostly out of it that its frowned upon to say that.

That being said, I like the episode, I LOVE the Raj getting over his mutism thing, but it didn't seem like it would be one of my favorites (that could change, who knows!)

Ok I am getting off my soapbox

Thank you :) Those scene's just stood out to me and made me happy. I find I can't bring myself to be negative when it comes to Shamy. I'm too excited to watch their relationship unfold.

I don't think it's frowned upon to say someone doesn't like an episode.  However, it's much more pleasant when we can find positive things to say.

I also immediately noticed that "They love each other". When I first heard that Sheldon was nagging them in the car, I thought it was going to be him being his usual self when it comes to unnecessary PDAs, I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be this, especially with the choice of language. No hormones, or unsanitary exchanges or being slave to their bases urges anymore. I think it's very telling.

Re: disliking the episode/being a Shamy, I think I know what comment you're referring to, and I think it was a silly comment to start with since there was no post preceding that by any Shamy saying they disliked the episode. I also find it quite patronizing in any case that some believe there is a "right way" to watch the show and that if you're not a "well-rounded" viewer you're somehow a lesser viewer. This isn't a college degree last time I checked, I think people should be free to watch the show for different reasons, and if you watch it for Shamy and there is no Shamy you should be free to be disappointed with the episode. IMO. Doesn't mean the episode is bad!

Lol koops I just answered the same thing to this person.

But yeah, good point on the "they love each other". I didn't even notice that but now that you're pointing it out, it's a pretty big Sheldon moment, and there's no doubt it's linked to Amy.

From the report on the other forum:

The whole gang is there and they’re dressed up. Leonard is by the kitchen counter mixing drinks. S/P/A are talking in a group by the hallway. Raj is sitting dejectedly on the couch. Howard is walking around. Bernadette walks up to Leonard and asks: Have you ever spent a long time on a boat before?

New headcanon: Penny is asking S&A about their D&D sex.  :icon_mrgreen:

She was in the hallway, there's not a lot of explanations to Amy shouting "Sheldon's nibbling on my 14"  :icon_mrgreen:

I hoped there was some Shamy interaction in the finale but.. Oh well. I hope the writers won't forget the Shamy in the season 7. 23th episode seems to be too big to forget, I hope they will address that.  :) And I mean as much as I love the other couples, is it just me that feels there has not been so much Shamy this year than previous years? And I'm still wondering, was it supposed to be a kiss on V-day before the writers changed it. We didn't get the kiss in the finale, nor in 23th. I highly doubt Shamy would have started to play role games together on V-day like that in that context. I think there was the kiss coming, and they decided to postpone it. I'm okay with this season, but lack of one kiss is what I'm not so satisfied with, that wouldn't have been too much asked, would it?

Molaro is gushing over THE SCENE already, and Prady even tweeted as they were shooting it that he loved the episode. So I doubt it will be swept under the carpet. It's a massive moment for Shamy and they know it. Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if they needed time over the summer to re-group and approach Shamy in a different way next year.

There hasn't been as much Shamy this year because much, if not all, of Shamy progress has come in the form of Sheldon-development. There were definitely less episodes focused on them as a couple as a consequence, and Amy as a character was put on the backburner after being front and center for 2 years. But I do think the total lack of minor physical contact this year was a bit silly, and hopefully that will be fixed next year. They need to start being less stingy as time goes on, or they'll end up running out of episodes to show the gradual development. I much prefer constant small reminders of progress with a few slightly bigger moments (as it was the case in S5) than nothing at all for ages with some monumental episodes (as it was more the case in S6). I think that might be a Molaro thing though, since Lenny developed pretty much in the same way this year.

maybe the whole Leonard going away thing is supposed to help the shamy in their development, in that Amy may well spend a lot more time with Sheldon and most likely giving him lifts to/from work

Monique, I've been keeping at eye on the post count ever since you mentioned the joking goal of us hitting 10,000 posts.

It could very well be possible... Especially when 6.23 airs.

Yeah it is becoming a big soup :D

I'm not unhappy but I'm not thrilled with that lack of Shamy moments in that final ep. Like stardust said one look like eye coitus, one moment when they  holding  hands, one smile  this little things could change everything, but I think that when I see 23 ep. which might be sweet and perfect for the Shamy it might keep me in happy state that maybe I can deal with this 24 ep.
I noticed that Sheldon said "They love each other", and that is very meaningful for him, that means he knows meaning of words I love you, and he knows meaning of romantic love, that is good sign for Amy, and for the s7. I hope.
I don't know if Leonard will leave for more than few ep. or for longer than it was with Howard, but I think that, I can't imagine him being gone for more ep. than Howard, it will be weird and how Sheldon will handle this. I mean yes this maybe opportunity for Amy to move in to Sheldon but I don't think that the writers will go that far(I hope I'm wrong because they surprised us a lot in s6) and it will take few ep. or maybe it will be like when they were on the North Pole... the most important thing is if we will see some changes in Sheldons behavior in s7, I hope that Leonard  being gone is for some reason, and we will see it.
