I just have to repost these two things here because you guys who are not on Tumblr may be missing out:

From Virginia:   Ever since I saw a picture of Jim saluting a couple of weeks ago, I’ve been somewhat consumed with the idea of Jim/Sheldon in a military uniform.  This edit and vague plot bunny was the result of that.

Shamy AU:  Sheldon is drafted during WWII just as things were beginning to progress between him and a charming, intelligent young woman named Amy Farrah Fowler.  Before he catches the train to the base, they spend one last afternoon together at a small diner in the train station.  They drink chocolate malts, talk about their shared love of the sciences and feed nickels into the jukebox.  Sheldon decides then that if he lives through this war, he will marry Amy.  They promise to write to each other every week, and they do.  After a few months Sheldon sends this photo of himself in his dress uniform with a simple message referencing the last song that played on the jukebox during their time together.  It is the last letter Amy receives from him.

“To My Amy,

Don’t sit under the apple tree (with anyone else but me)

Your Sheldon”

tumblr_mlu1nzAbnZ1rbca1lo1_400.jpg

Shamy AU:  While in basic training, Sheldon’s hard boiled Captain gets the privilege of having several American newspapers air-mailed to him.  While on night patrol around camp with an obnoxious Private named Hofstadter, something catches Sheldon’s keen eye as they pass the Captain’s office.  Against his better judgement and ignoring Hofstadter’s warning, he sneaks in and finds his sweetheart, Amy Farrah Fowler has made the news.

Female Doctor is Making Waves Across America:  Glendale, California native Dr. Amelia Farrah Fowler is lending her expertise to the war effort by touring our 48 states to instruct the members our latest division of the U.S. Navy, the Waves.  Believe or not folks, this division consists entirely of women!  The name is the acronym for “Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service”.  Although a biologist, Dr. Fowler is making it her business to make sure these ladies have the proper medical and personal safety training to help our boys fight the good fight.  Mildred McAfee, the first female commissioned officer in U.S. Navy history, and director of the WAVES had this to say about Dr. Fowler. “She’s a great gal to have around.  Smart and tougher then a few soldiers I’ve known.”  I am sure this nation and this lowly reporter both agree, when we say that we’re glad you’re on our side Dr. Fowler.”

Article by junior correspondent:  Stuart Bloom

Sheldon carefully rips the article with her picture from the newspaper and stuffs them into his pocket.  When confronted the next morning by a red-faced Captain, Private Hofstadter intervenes and lies, saying he ripped the newspaper because “nature-was-a-callin’ Cap’n”.  The smaller man is given a week of peeling potatoes in the mess hall and latrine duty.  Sheldon never forgets the kindness and the two become unlikely buddies.

Thought you would enjoy these.   Again, these are done by lisatronic3000 (Virginia) who is just so awesome.  Just love these little vignettes.

 “To My Amy,

Don’t sit under the apple tree (with anyone else but me)   I  love it, it's just adorable...

Your Sheldon”

I just love that little story you posted. Is this text from some fanfic, and did Virginia wrote it?

Silver, I don't know if she is going to put this into an actual fanfic or not.  She has just posted both of these today on Tumblr and I wasn't sure if many folks saw it unless they follow her.  I love her creativity and ideas so much that I felt others would enjoy seeing them.  Yes, both he and Amy are adorable in their photos (him in uniform...dreamy!  And Amy is just darling in that 40's outfit).   I love the little vignettes Virginia wrote around the photo art she created as well.  I really hope she ends up writing a fic.  :icon_mrgreen:

hahahahahahahahaha OMG! "Yeah, sounds like a drag." OMG I love Amy more then my luggage!

For real though: I'm pretty sure I would feel the same way as Sheldon does right now if this show ended without Shamy finally....consummating, their relationship, lol.

Ahhhhh, so that's where 'that line' came from, haha. Still not upset.

OMG I need to see how that line comes out. New episode please come to me!

To me, he's just REALLY frustrated and irritated. He doesn't really mean anything by it.

I love the way sheldon looked on the floor after the domino orgasm.

I really enjoyed the shamy parts... I liked that they portrayed amy's scientific skills (it's been a while) and I think jim did an awesome job with his reactions to everything.  I loved the part with penny... they have really shown growth with her this season.  I found the end very touching when penny and sheldon said that to each other... very fitting for penny to do it the way she did and sheldon was in a state where he said it back to her.  Very clever.

Idk. I think Sheldon was still recovering from in dominorgasm to even notice who that was. Love how he didn't have time to fly to Texas to get a hug from his mom.

Yes that was funny (and I wasn't expecting the comment amy made before that), and the part where he was telling amy she didn't understand how frustrating it was to not get a release... and they cut to the expression on her face.  So funny.  It was great to see those two playing off each other with such comedic scenes.

The episode was very funny. I definitely could relate to Sheldon's POV.   It would have driven me as nuts to not be able to finish those things as well.   To be honest...I don't think he was saying ILY to Penny specifically...I think he was just saying more like "I love that I was able to finish all of it" than anything.  I don't think it was to a person as much as saying it to "satisfaction of completion".

I agree, I don't think he hardly recognized she was there. He was too high over the domino rush he was getting.

I agree also, but still think it was clever the way they did it.  Sheldon wouldn't say that if he knew what he was saying, and Penny was very nonchalant in the way she said it. It was still touching to me, all the same.

I loved this episode! :D

I loved the fight over the Jack-in-the-box!  So funny!  And then when Sheldon was getting his closure, the way he not only got the JITB to pop out, but also turned the handle until the tune finished.

And the DOMINORGASM!  I loved the way he was saying, "keep going! don't stop, don't stop!" etc. :D :D :D :icon_twisted:

Very CUTE episode, it wasn't overly funny but it was amusing...

Jack-In-The-Box and Star Stangled Banner.....along with DOMINORGASM was brilliant.

As for the line...Sheldon was clearly irritated and lashing out...

And the ILY occurred when the man was in post-O bliss....men say ANYTHING then (trust me on this!)

I'm not so sure.  He has told Leonard he loved him a couple of times.

I really liked that Amy tried to help Sheldon deal with his closure issues and finally got to let him see what its like to be so frustrated all of the time. Haha serves him right.  :p  I also thought it was cute and nice that he complimented her at the end and called her a wonderful girlfriend.  But I do wish he actually learned something from her efforts rather than just reverting back to his compulsion.  That doesn't seem very healthy to me or like any growth was made by the end because Sheldon went back and redid it all.  It would have been nicer if Sheldon redid all those things over to get closure that Amy wouldn't let him finish except that  for they could have made it that the last domino didn't fall on its own and instead of Sheldon forcing it to fall  have him just leave it standing up and go to his room showing that he did learn something after all and made just that tiniest little improvement.  Oh well maybe next time.

Also I thought the ending was a little weird and off with Penny and Sheldon saying I love you like that with him lying on floor like they just randomly just had to throw in a Shenny moment to close things out :icon_rolleyes: instead of ending it with Shamy .  I think it would have been much funnier and cuter if Amy had came back and caught him because she knew all along that he'd try to finish all things she wouldn't let him earlier and then have her say something funny about it.  And I wish he hadn't said "good thing because I wish you were dead." after she wouldn't let him blow out the candles.  I know in context what he was just frustrated, but out of context that line is unfortunately going to be another line for the Amy haters to quote now and makes it seem like he secretly resents her when we all know it is true.

But yeah other the silly twist ending, i really enjoyed the episode and happy Shamy got to spend time together.   Amy really is such a kind hearted girlfriend to deal with all his quirks even love him all more for them and try to help him.  I love her so much cause she's so patient lot of people would never put up with him.

Also, I think Sheldon's issues with closure may also stem from lost of his grandfather years ago back at Christmas time.   It seems like he never really got closure with that either and since Santa couldn't grant his wish to bring him back perhaps Sheldon feels he must constantly have closure in everything else in his life to try too make up for the lack of closure he has over his grandfather's passing.

Lexi, I think Sheldon did learn something.  There was a key phrase where he talks about "you don't know what it is like to have desire build up in you...." or something along those lines...I think Sheldon was learning all about sexual frustration in this and it will all tie into 6.23 when he realizes Amy has had sexual frustration as well.   They re-synch.  This episode was to show how far apart they were (or so we think) and then they re-sync back up in 6.23 during the D&D game.   I think he learned to have empathy.  He hasn't realized it yet, but he now is aware of what it is like to have that kind of frustration...and so by 6.23 when everyone is teasing them and she runs out...he finally talks to her and will have an epiphany...with put it all together, which is why he suggests they continue to play the D&D game in the bedroom there.

I also think the ILY wasn't to any person...but was a reaction to the victory over completing things.  It was the release of all that frustration.   In fact, I am betting he wasn't even aware Penny was at the door or had said something...it was more a response to completion.   Again...he left Amy hanging with an "and" as well.   He may have been completing that as the final thing because that was the final incomplete thing...he said she was the best girlfriend and....then after dominoes...in pure bliss he says "and I love you too".   So the question lies as to whether it was a response to completion of a game...a response to Amy to finish the completion...but my bet is it wasn't to any one person...but more a response to the act of completion.

I enjoyed the episode a lot, even if the scenes seemed shorter than I had pictured them - but that's what happens when there's three story lines rammed into 19.5 minutes.

Also, someone needs to take Jim to a buffet.
