untilyou
Copy-pasting my tumblr posts about the ILY. I don’t think the ILY in 6x21 was for Amy at all. I think it was for Penny, and I think that’s awesome. Sheldon has no trouble expressing his love for his friends. He said “I love you” to Leonard twice in the past, he’s also said it to his mom. Sheldon knows his feelings for his friends. He doesn’t know his feelings for Amy. I suspect he realises they’re different from what he feels for his other friends, but I don’t think he’s made the connection yet that he’s actually in love with her. Regarding his feelings for Amy, Sheldon is very much in an “action speaks louder than words” place (i.e. working on his contact issue so he can make love to her, or making her is ICE contact, or actually drafting a document that legally binds her to him… Sheldon you control freak!). Now roll on 6x23 so we can all witness how his actions definitely speak volumes! & Something else I realised about this ILY: we all know that to Sheldon, saying “I love something” isn’t that big of a deal as he said “I love my mother. My feelings for my spot are much greater.” Would we really want for him to say “I love you” to Amy when we know it would mean he loves his spot better? No. We want him to say “You make me feel like my spot.” It would fit the Shamy perfectly, because they never will have a traditional romance, and the fact that he wouldn’t say “I love you”, that he would say something different that helds more power but looks ridiculous for everyone else would be so them that just thinking about it makes my heart flutter. Regarding the rest of the episode, I'm with koops. I found it funny but definitely underwhelming in a lot of aspects. Mayim does need to get an Emmy this year though, because she was literally perfect. "You make me feel like my spot." Amazing Lost!!!! Purely Amazing! BazingaFan
That's how I took the ILY to penny... he's said that to leonard before and I thought it was sweet, and I loved that penny went over there to tell that to him. It was a twist at the end... so i think the point of the episode was that both penny and sheldon have been working on their issues this season, and penny has obviously made more progress because of what she said in this episode. I love to see sheldon and penny show friendship toward each other (its been missing since the early seasons) and I'm glad the writers did it. And it was fun to see sheldon on the floor -- gives us some insight to what is coming with amy. Because we know it's coming, even though we didn't get it in this episode! saweco
Oh, I almost forgot. Didn't you guys just love it when Penny was talking about how Star Wars and Star Trek were the same thing, and Sheldon said "this is blasphemous."? Cait, that was my favorite part! Shamynatress
I love the total Domino - ILY scene. But I dont think he was even aware that Penny was in the room. So it is for speculation to whom the "I Love You" was directed. And I personally think it was for Amy. But it was unconciously.
BazingaFan
Thank you for posting this... my favorite line is from Amy... "Yeah, sounds like a drag." I wonder if the domino design has any kind of meaning behind it? Does is resemble anything? Edited April 26, 2013 by BazingaFan
delsino
Now that I think about that ILY, I wonder if it's meant to imply Sheldon will get all cuddly and sappy after sex. LOL. That would be an hilarious turn of events. Omg that just made my day... I dont think I could handle both shamy sex and just following cuddly sappy Sheldon after. I might just die by feels
Chaliceinnana
So we've learned that Sheldon is the kind of guy that will say anything after orgasm, just to get some sleep. "I love you too...zzzzz" There is no way that Amy belived he was cured when she left that apartment, she didn't think she was going to cure him when she started. She proved her point and had some fun messing with him. Effectively, demonstrating, if she was actually desperate for more attention, she could make him do whatever she wanted. I would really like to explore the possibility of Amy and Bernadette going supervillian as a team for an episode. Maybe against Kripke or something. Those women are powerful. Bernadette and Amy (and Lucy; And Raj's dog) were vibrant and alive, and Penny seemed depressed and wilting. Just her crazy social group cannot be enough for her. Let's get Penny into Real Estate. Maybe she is passionate about having money.

I agree...and by Penny's reaction, I think even she recognized he wasn't paying attention to her and didn't know she was in the room. I think she felt his response made no sense and that it wasn't directed at her. And if it is true that it was originally filmed without her in that scene, yet him still saying it, then it is pretty much a given it was not directed to her. Just the whole part with her coming in, wording things the way she did, looking at him like he was on Mars and leaving was very random. Razberrypie
Did anyone else love Sheldon's delivery of "And...." and then when he said it didn't matter? It came across as really teasy/flirty to me and he showed facial expressions I don't think I'd ever seen on him before. Even if he called her a sucker afterwards, it seems like he almost enjoys having that effect on Amy, like he knows he gets her motor running and he can't get enough :D. I can't wait to see Amy get some back from Sheldon soon .

Maybe she is passionate about having money. I have always loved Sheldon/Howard and Amy/Bernadette scenes and agree that when they team up together they are wonderful. I would LOVE to see Amy/Bernie let loose on one of Sheldon's arch-enemies. haha That would be gold! As far as Penny, bottom line is she needs to marry someone with money. She clearly is not into working, loves to shop and pamper herself, but she really hates thinking or doing anything that is hard-work. She said so pretty much herself. Selling real estate is a lot of work to be frank. You have to do a lot of hitting the pavement to get listings and interested buyers, plus you have to listen well to the person wanting go buy. She isn't so good at that. I am not convinced there is a profession that would work for her well because she just has no real interest in working. She would rather have a "sugar daddy". Yes he definitely was very flirty with her and teasing her and what was interesting is the look he had on his face on the floor when he said the ILY, was almost identical to a look in his eyes when he was talking to her at the door after teasing her. He definitely is going to be quite the charmer and clearly whimsically inventive and I believe rather passionate once he can overcome his fears about physical intimacy. koops
The whole scene at the door was a back and forth of teasing between both of them. He teased her in pretending she had cured him and he didn't care about finishing the sentence but at the same time teasing her that she wanted to hear the end of the sentence but he wouldn't give in. She teased him in that she pretended to believe and kind of fell for it and had a "I see what you're doing" moment. I thought it was very cute and flirty. I am against how much Penny has had to use her body as currency this season. And maybe it will spark something in her if she could be successful. Lazy!Trampy!Penny isn't working for me. The only way Leonars goes sugar daddy is if his mom dies and actually acknowledges him in her will.
Carlos
Amazing that I saw the same show and came away with something totally different. Stop putting Penny down, You people don't know what you're talking about.
koops
Not that this is the appropriate thread to discuss Penny, but I thought the end of the episode explained why she never gets passionate about anything: because she always lived her life waiting for her life to start (i.e. make it big). And that probably also explains her fear of commitment. But now she's realized that's a stupid way to live and maybe we will see the repercussions of that in her in future episodes. I think the finale is a pretty big example of how she might be changing.
silverangel
I love that moment when they are talking about closure, when Amy came with "equipment" to start exercise and she said "we live in a world where closure isn't always an op... and Sheldon ended: ...tion. I love that how she said op... and she looks at her nails and pretends that she has something more important to do than finish word...it was so hilarious. Mayim is just the best. I think the finale is a pretty big example of how she might be changing. I agree. I think she had an epiphany about herself last night though and her lack of passion. I do think she would like success and it must be frustrating to surround yourself with highly successful and motivated individuals and not feel you have any clue as to what motivates you. I hope that next season we will see more of her looking beyond the "shallow" stuff that they have painted her to be and seek a passionate field of interest. Acting is fine, but even with that she isn't extremely passionate about it. I am sure there is something that will get her going, but right now she hasn't tapped into whatever that is. She is young and has time to explore as Bernie suggested. Chalice, I agree that he was expressing his love for closure. I felt that when I watched it...which means his statement wasn't to a person but more to himself and the joy he felt in achieving victory and closing all the "projects" Amy started with him that he couldn't finish earlier that evening. What I find interesting is that while he hated all the exercises of non-closure....he never stopped or prevented her from continuing. He still went along with the whole thing. We all know that Sheldon is more than capable of saying "no" when he doesn't want to do something. So part of him was willing to go along with the exercises, griping of course as he did, but that was telling to me. It was foreplay to him. He enjoyed the "build up". CaitAmber
While we're on the topic of Penny I actually really enjoyed her storyline in this episode. When she was explaining why she never got excited about things it was like a lightbulb went off in my head. Like "whoa, that makes so much sense. I can't believe I never realized that", so I'm glad that we've gotten plenty of development for her character this season. It's been long overdue. stardustmelody
Where and what was that on? That was him this morning on CBS This Morning show. The interview was like a nano-second in length, and nothing terribly new or relevant and no clips. It was disappointing because the interviewer kept not allowing him to answer much. But he looked adorable. Here is a link to the clip on the interview: http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=50145672n
