Emmy's are announced the morning of July 18, same day as Comic Con opens.   Busy day for us because last year I think the panel was on Thursday and that is the same day as it opens this year.   If they stick to the same day...we will be getting loads of information in one day.   :icon_wink::icon_lol:

Is Jim Parsons' "Big Bang Theory" romance with Mayim Bialik going nuclear? The former "Blossom" star makes another guest appearance on the hit CBS show, and we have a sneak peek!

Although the onscreen pair of Sheldon and Amy initially seemed like an online match made by the Manhattan Project, professional jealousy may force the couple to have a Three Mile Island meltdown.

Still, the pairing has ignited a ratings boom for the CBS show, now No. 1 in its new time period on Thursday nights.

Watch ET tonight for a retrospective on Mayim's career, from 'Beaches' to "Blossom," then don't miss her hilarious performance on tonight's episode of "The Big Bang Theory"!

Even back in Season 4 it seems that the industry and fans recognized Shamy were skyrocketing the shows ratings.   I love it!

Monique, did you see that they will begin taping on August 20?   It seems like a long time from now.   Just wanted you to know that the first taping dates are up.  You might want to order tickets ahead (or at least standby tickets).   And as Silverangeld said, "we love you!"

I was looking at the website to get the tickets and I noticed this:

"REPEAT ATTENDANCE: We know that there are many fans that like to attend the show week after week and we appreciate your interest; however, due to the popularity of "The Big Bang Theory", we request that guests not attend more than once this season so we may offer as many different fans as possible an opportunity to be in the studio audience. If you have attended the show during the 2012-2013 production season, you may be placed in the standby ticket line even if you check in on time with a guaranteed ticket. Thank you for your cooperation."

Is this new? Or has it always had this and it's rarely enforced?

Monique we love you too!

Monique has been going on standby tickets other than one or two guaranteed I think all year.  So she is used to going standby.  She just gets there super early to get early in line to get in.

Hai, I haven't seen you around here in ages! How have you been!? :)

Your Highness, thank you for your asking. :D

I'm still around here, checking this forum several times per day, waiting for some thrown bones.

I haven't been so active since I am trying to concentrate on my study.

Hopefully I could be a new Me when the show comes back.  :icon_cheesygrin:

By the bye, remember to take care of the national treasury and my gold in my absence.

Yes, you can order them here:   http://tvtickets.com/fmi/xsl/shows/browserecord.xsl?&Show=big+bang

And here is a write-up from Roxanne who used to do the taping reports for S4 and 5.   She has some tips on how best to get them:  http://www.thebigbangbuzz.com/2012/03/how-to-score-taping-tickets-to-big-bang.html

They didn't specify that they mean only one guaranteed ticket per season so I don't blame you for your confusion. Stand-by tickets, you can get as many as you like all year long :) A friend of mine and Kellee's even asked one of the Audiences Unlimited staff members about it and she confirmed this :). In fact, they know us quite well now. LOL.

I've only ever gotten a guaranteed ticket once and that was because it was given to me by someone who couldn't make it (all it takes if ever you can't make it, is an email and they can put someone elses name on your ticket).

There's a neatly organized stack of gold for you. An incentive to be around here more often. ;) Or I guess I could have a bone covered in gold..... If that's the sort of thing that floats your boat.

A word of warning, very long post ahead!  :p  It's just my thoughts about Shamy progression in general. Read it or leave it, it's just my summer free time puzzling.

Finally I have had time to watch seasons 4-6 again and do some comparison about Shamy interactions in these seasons (for my own joy), and I have to say I enjoy seasons 4-5 the most, and the first half of season 6. I think that in the latter half of season 6, or better in some particular episodes, Sheldon was being written way too mean to Amy, although 6x23 was a great exception from that. Season 6 was also a season of great contrasts and inconsistency in Shamy storyframe and their mutual interaction for me. When it comes to Sheldon, the early episodes of this season showed us more tolerable and vulnerable Sheldon who was afraid of losing his girlfriend. It was very obvious from the speech he had with Penny at the Cheesecake factory and his willingness to fight with Will Wheaton, his previous nemesis, to defend his girlfriends honour. It was kind of an old-fashioned style for him to show how much he cares about Amy and how much she means for him. He didn't want to loose her. We also saw Sheldon ready to do compromises for the sake of his girlfriend - unprecedented for "the old Sheldon" - and some other significant changes in his behaviour and even the great revealing of his thoughts about having sex with Amy (6x14!). But the later the season went we saw a different kind of Sheldon, behaving strangely mean to a woman he was supposed to be very in love with. This behaviour seemed to me very odd and inconsistent. I couldn't see any consistency from the previous episodes, what could have caused this strange change of attitude in him towards Amy - like Amy were some kind of a burden to him at that point. I can't see anything even in Amy's behavior that could explain that. For me, 6x23 flip-flopped everything again and came a bit out of blue.
So yes, I didn't like this setting of huge contrast and inconsistency in Sheldon's behavior towards Amy. I remember we had long conversations of possible explanations of his behaviour in those episodes... But whatever the case was, I don't like the way those episodes have been written concerning Shamy interaction, whatever the reasons were for writers or for the storyline of the show/Sheldon. In my opinion season 6 was also too stagnant in their interaction, although Sheldon were first going through leaps in his personal growth, he went then backtracking later in the latter half of the season. So I hope in their interaction would happen something really significant in next season.

So I'm eagerly waiting for season 7, how they will write Sheldon and Shamy interactions from this on. Sheldon was never that mean to Amy in seasons 4-5, like in some episodes of seasons 6. He were so smitten with her previously,  it was so obvious that you could tell it even from his body language if he didn't say anything directly. That is what I would especially hope see in season 7, that he is again so smitten with her and that could lead in to some physical contact too. This, in my opinion, was the crucial thing lacking from season 6. One of my favourites about this is from 5x08, where Sheldon is staring at Amy in the liquor store parking slot, and when she said "Hi cuddles", he didn't answer to her, he just stared her back. Normally always so quick-tongued Sheldon didn't say anything. When she proposed the idea of them going to the hotel, and Sheldon having his way with her, again, he didn't answer straightly anyhing, not even "no", he just stared her, then obviously the direction of the hotel and then passed over the question by changing the subject. There is so much in his body language, that you can tell he was really smitten with her at that time. So smitten that it makes you wonder what was he thinking there, what where going through his mind. :) It was actually the first time Amy proposed anything so intimate to him. I think it was hard to process for him, although he knew it was "alcohol talking".
Also I loved how he didn't notice, that he indirectly called Amy "his woman" in that same episode when he was talking to Leonard, that Leonard should be thankful to not be able to "keep a woman" since they are so handful, even when they weren't officially a couple yet (and later in 5x12, that "Amy wants a man with a pocket watch"). So it was in his speech too, although indirectly.
Also the usage of Stuart in 5x10 was brilliant to bring Sheldon to a place to choose and look at his emotions towards Amy. It put him to situation that he had to do that. I think when he stumbled to the theater to their date, he may have been a bit afraid,  what if Amy denies his request. His accelerating breath when asking it indicates so. He wrote the relationship agreement beforehand, although we don't precisely know when it took place, so it was ready for him to introduce it to her when she agreed to be his girlfriend. He must have been thinking her a lot in the early episodes of season 5, I assume that he didn't have time to write over 30 pages of agreement in that sort time when Amy and Stuart where in the theater. So if season 5 he thought about her and wrote the agreement, season 6 he fantasized about her (I think so) so season 7 could finally show us something practical happening between them?

These are my thoughts for the moment. Happy summer everyone and happy waiting for season 7! :) I think it will be great for Shamy.

clap.gifclap.gifclap.gif  Cat, that was an excellent summary of how I feel about it as well.   I think somewhere after 6.16 the writers did a complete about face on Sheldon.  He did begin to treat Amy as if she were a burden instead of the woman he loves.  He did show no love for her in episodes 6.18-6.21 other than he seemed to admire her advice and for the most part follow it.   However, he again flip-flops and is very sweet and "Sheldon-sensual" in 6.23.

I have no clue whey the writers did a direction change, but it was noticed by the fans and not terribly well received.   While the shows were still enjoyable, because it still is the best sitcom on air, and they received still high ratings, I think it was wearing on fans and 6.23 came along at a good time when fans were getting very frustrated with the treatment of Amy.

I am hoping that the overall consistency, balance of characters and pacing improves for Season 7.    We did a count one evening between S5 and S6 of Lenny to Shamy episodes.   In S 5 they were equal yet in Season 6 there were twice as many Lenny focused episodes to Shamy episodes (something like 13 to 5).   I know there was a lot of repair work needed on Lenny so that may explain why there were far more Lenny episodes, but the imbalance should not be that noticeable.   It never was that far off in past seasons.

I am hoping that S7 will be a season that we will see the writers finally commit to the early S6 work they did on Sheldon.  He will become more of a loving man to the woman he adores.  He will show her affection and will truly start to move forward in his "working on it" and in his "Its a possibility".   I am not saying they need to have sex in S7 yet, but at least show her some affection.  That will go a long way for Amy and the fandom.

I wonder if it was deliberate on the writers part. We had Sheldon admitting to l&p that he thought it was a possibility then the emergency contact then Amy wanting to move in, its like the writers wanted Sheldon to realise things were happening quickly and he wanted to pull back before he "freaked" and he was a bit off with Amy but nothing too bad

I think it would have been okay to see him pull back some, but not to be mean.  That was what bothered me more than anything...the mean tone and the poor treatment of Amy, plus her willingness to just let him treat her that way.  While she did stand up for herself when he made her the human shield, for most of it she just "took it" in stride.  That was not in character for either of them.

I think honestly, they had something that caused them to do a major shift.   Whether it was news on renewals or whatever, but something caused them to slow things down.  We do know based on Mayim's blog that some big change happened on the V-Day episode.  I think that change caused them to lose stride in the direction they had planned to go and that is why we ended up with such out of character (from the first half of the season) Sheldon.   In fact, he was meaner in S6 than all previous seasons (and we all know he could be a bit mean), but the tone was pretty mean in latter S6.

Perhaps the writers had planned something but then changed their minds and will use that particular bit of plot story for s7, we can definitely say that there will be progress in s7 but I think it will be baby steps, it was mentioned on the other forum about the shamy going to Texas for Amy to meet meemaw and Missy and I'd like to see that
