Ok this is totally random and I'm not even sure it belongs to this thread, but I typed in "Penny and Amy play quarters" into Youtube, and it came up with this:

I'm so tempted to message the person who posted the video to ask whether the cats names are coincidence. She has a whole bunch of Pamy cat videos. LOL.

eta:

And, OMC Lost, just saw this on your tumblr, and it's pretty much:

tumblr_mom3lwqAHh1r01q3wo1_250.gif <- Penny

tumblr_mom3lwqAHh1r01q3wo5_250.gif <- Sheldon

In 4x01. LOL. Come on GIF people, make the gifset comparison.

To all of those amazing fanfic writers in here: do you listen to music while you write? If so, what gets your creative juices flowing? I'm looking for inspiration. I'm a music fiend!

Well I'm not a big fanfic writer at all (just one, and I don't want to sound arrogant :icon_redface:   ), but i can tell that you need to find out what music inspires you, what music makes you feel relaxed or what kind of music stimulates your emotions, feelings, that when you listen this music, you can feel the feelings and emotions that you want to describe, you can free your mind and focus on what you write. I love music and, what kind of music I listen it depends on my mood, but I can't imagine my day without music. Sorry if my post wasn't helpful, but, maybe that is a hint. To listen to this music, which is close to your heart and feelings and emotions, by the way what kind of music do you listen? When I write poems I need silence to focus on my emotions and feelings  and in what words I want to metamorphose what I feel.

I don't tend to listen to music when I write, I find I write best when I am all alone in my room and able to focus my mind on the emotions of the characters. That being said, sometimes certain songs that I listen to during the day will bring out a certain emotion that I find I can channel and put into what I am writing, if that makes sense!

If you are looking for new music, I would highly recommend Ed Sheeran, if you haven't got his stuff already. I find his songs are very emotional and they would be the ones that would inspire me the most. There are others, but I can't think of them at the moment! Frank Ocean would be another singer I am fond of, although his songs don't really inspire me much, I just think he is pretty good!

Thanks, I really like Frank Ocean, but haven't listened to Ed Sheeran much. I'll check him out!

I'm open to all kinds of music. I have over 100,000 songs in my iTunes, but I'm bored with all of them, if that's even possible. I'm looking for something fresh. Muse used to be my muse, but even they have run dry.

oh well there's a big range of music that I listen to a large, but my favorite, and my biggest inspiration  are Depeche Mode, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Placebo, sometimes even trance music, and to relax, classical music.

You would like Depeche Mode, Silver! You're awesome. Yes, I'm a fan of all those bands. Especially Placebo.

I find that listening to classical music, not a specific piece, necessarily, but having it on in the background somehow frees up my writing.  I don't know if it's a right brain/left brain thing (because apparently that's not all that scientific??) but somehow it works.

What I often do is write during orchestra rehearsal during times that I don't have to play, like if there's a piece or a movement of a piece that I don't play, or if the conductor's working with another section for a while.

If I have an idea of what I'm trying to write, the music seems to keep my mind from getting distracted and I can totally get in my writing zone.

But when I write at home, I usually do not have music playing.  I'll often have the TV on, just to kind of make noise, but it has to be something I like, like The Closer or L&O:Criminal Intent or CSI or whatever.

Since I've seen almost all of those episodes (except CSI) I don't really get caught up in the story and I can just write.

What instrument do you play? I used to play the sax in the my college's pep band, but it got old after 4 years. Haven't picked the darn thing up since.
