This is a bit off topic notice but while watching previous seasons, I noticed for the first time, that Todd Zarnecki was among the guests at Howard's bachelor party. He was the one who hacked Sheldon's World of Warcraft account and stole his equipment. It seems strange, while some episodes before that in Werewolf transformation he is mentioned by Penny to Sheldon at Amy's place "I kicked your bully in the nuts for you...", then some episodes later Sheldon faces his bully at his friend's bachelor party. Writers didn't address that at all, it seems a bit strange. Sheldon was so relaxed and happy there drinking alcohol and didn't seem to notice Zarnecki, his former bully.  At what point did Zarnecki made so good friends with Howard and made Sheldon to forgive him? Or writers just thought that no one would look so carefully and notice it? Just a small inconsistency, maybe. :icon_wink:

To all of those amazing fanfic writers in here: do you listen to music while you write? If so, what gets your creative juices flowing? I'm looking for inspiration. I'm a music fiend!

I do indeed listen to music when I write. In fact, I put earplugs in and blast it so I can focus solely on the story. I am also an eclectic music fiend. I have over a thousand CDs and a portable hard drive that houses all of my music from the CDs and iTunes. (All the music won't fit on my laptop without making it run incredibly slow.) I even take the portable hard drive to work with me every day so I can listen there as well. Music makes my world go around and even my boss has commented that I work faster and more efficiently if I have the earplugs in. LOL.

The kind of music I listen to is indicative of what kind of scene I write. If I am writing a sad scene, I will set up a playlist to run in a loop that only has rip-your-heart-to-shreds songs on it (Usually anything by Eva Cassidy, Adele, Foreign Slippers, Etta James or Martina McBride). During fun times, it's fun songs (Usually silly pop songs by Carly Rae Jepsen, fun, the Everly Brothers, Hanson, old 80's music, or whatever is insanely popular at the time). Shexy scenes get a lot of Maroon 5, Cat Power, Neko Case, Nelly, Barry White, Al Green, Radiohead, Righteous Brothers, and/or Rod Stewart. However, if I am still feeling out a scene and don't really know where I want to go specifically, I will put in any new albums I have purchased so I don't know any of the words or songs. Not being able to sing along with a song makes me focus more on the emotion of the song, which in turn puts me in a better place to figure out where I want a particular chapter to go. (This happens when I start a fic--until I get a good grip on the premise.) If I am running too close to my self-imposed deadline than I like, I put in fast-playing songs (Like  David Guetta's "Titanium," Ellie Goldings "Lights", "Ain't No Rest For The Wicked" by Cage the Elephant or anything by AC/DC or Everlast.) Believe it or not, I will write faster just listening to these songs.

Then, on top of all of this, I usually put together a "soundtrack" for a specific story I am writing. It plays when I am just writing "bridge" chapters. I choose songs that are indicative of the overall themes I am trying to cover. For The Family Probability Theorem, for example, there was a lot of Alabama, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kid Rock, Bob Seger, Reba McEntire, Johnny Cash, Bryan Adams, and Carly Simon.

But, strangely enough, when I edit a chapter, I can't have any music playing at all. (I know. I'm weird.)

Yikes, this got a lot longer than I expected it to be. Oops.

Hey my lovely Shamy's I want to say that surgical procedure went well, everythng is ok. My son was weak long  after surgery, and for a  long he couldn't wake up from anesthesia.  He is still sore and will have to rest long, that everything will be healed well.  We will be at home today's afternoon . I did!

I wanted to let you know, misophonia, that I haven't read your fic yet... but I plan to, and I can't wait.  I'm not reading anything until I finish mine so that nothing influences me, but yours in the first on the list if I ever get finished.  I can't wait to catch up with all of them.

Sometimes I do, but most of the time, I have to have complete silence so I can think.  I've even gone out to the car to write to get away from my kids and their crazy noise.  Sometimes it bothers me more than other times... not sure why.

Wow Miso, I am sort of in awe at your music collection! It truly speaks of someone that just loves music when they can have the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen as well AC/DC in their collection!

Either that or a complete weirdo. My BF is a huge fan of classic rock. So, I can have him going from smiling to grimacing in about three seconds flat when my playlist shifts from Bad Company to Jessie J. One time, I made him leave the room completely when it went from "Hotel California" by the Eagles to "Gangnam Style" by Psi. It was hilarious.

An even better reason for me to push for you to finish. (You know, besides the obvious fangirling reason because fabulous authors like me are so above that.)

LOVED THE LATEST CHAPTER!! WHOO HOO!

Ok, I may or may not have been watching 6x23 again and did anyone notice how when the love spell gets cast and Howard is describing the setting Amy is pretty much constantly looking at Sheldon for his reaction, in this kind of adorably vulnerable way? :icon_cry:
