I have to say, i'm glad im not the only one who thought this. For a minute i was in there thinking that maybe i was being too laid back about the whole thing! haha I think a lot of them are just very protective over Leonard, and i guess i can understand why... sometimes. mjc45 Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 Very OT: I know this isn't Shamy related, but since this is where most of my friends hang out, I thought I'd post here. For those of you who know about my "Stoopy Tumor"--I've finally sorted things out to have my radiation treatment here in LR, rather than going to AZ. It has a lot to do with the fact that the people here are very willing to work with me financially and that this local place is a not-for-profit facility, as opposed to the place in AZ (who basically wanted a big chunk of the $100,000.00 overall cost up front). So, anyway, it looks like I'll be starting the process as early as Friday or Monday, with a mask molded of my face (to hold me in position for my treatments) and a fresh MRI (to use in plotting the radiation beams) and I'll have 30 short sessions of radiation beginning around the 22nd or so and I should be done by the end of August. The doc (very nice guy!) said I may have some fatigue and I might have some patchy hair loss but otherwise I don't think it will be too difficult. I'll have some vacation days available to use if I should feel particularly bad on any given day, but I think I'll be able to work through the whole process and hopefully I'll be ready to start the symphony season come September. They ended the season so well! hey, I resemble that remark but its a learned response based on history. And please recall the "I wish you were dead" furor when a rumour upset people. That hurt and it didn't even happen. but I agree that some are more pessimistic than might be reasonable. Tensor needs to beat on them a bit with evidence and reasoned argument. The thing is, it's done and it's happened, I could still write long posts about it but it's not going to change much. But I thought Lenny were VERY strong all throughout the end of the season, after that hiccup on Valentine's Day? That's why I'm puzzled by the negativity about them. That said, I can't reasonably see them stabbing themselves in the heart again. Shamy is progressing too and they seem to be in a position to frolic to some happy ending or at least a happy middle. I can't even watch that episode without feeling my skin crawl tbh. Its such an engaging show. I think that if you consider the depicted damage to the L/P and the ability we have now to actually revisit these events maybe that explains the lingering concerns. It was harsh, yes, but in the context, I don't think the writers meant for it to be taken that way, and they were just going for a laugh. phantagrae Posted July 3, 2013 Posted July 3, 2013 I wanted to add--in regard to the "I wished you were dead" line--that I guess it didn't bother me at all because it was just Sheldon being petulant. He certainly would never wish Amy were dead--and he didn't say it to her face. Sheldon's middle name is Petulance (or it would be if it weren't Lee ) and this is his normal reaction when things are going against him. It doesn't mean he doesn't stil love Amy or that even that he doesn't like her. It's essentially the same as when he couldn't figure out Howard's card trick and said, "I hate you" to Howard. It's a common reaction, meant in a semi-playful way, that a lot of people use, especially in a situation like that, where they're losing a game or something. In this case, Sheldon was losing Amy's "games" and basically having a big pout about it, hence his line. It was the verbal equivalent of sticking his tongue out at her, IMO. I can certainly see where you are all coming from in saying that it was all about context and i agree, i know he didn't mean it and was being childish, but i dunno, it probably boils down to your own sense of humour. I watched the episode yesterday and i still cringe at it, but my mum found it pretty funny. But then again, after that episode i got her to watch The Bath Item Gift Hypothesis and after Sheldon hugged Penny she actually turned to me and said, 'Oh, so are those two going to start dating now.' So what does she know! SMH. I was literally like, are you freaking serious! I guess i can cut her some slack since she has only ever watched the show in like little bits, but still, i dont think i've fully forgiven her yet!
