BazingaFan
He does flirt with her all the time tho. Most blatant was Wil Wheaton. He just seemed more happy and relaxed with her in season 4 to me. hard to explain it.

Only 2 episodes come to mind but he's extremely happy with her in almost all episodes...or he wouldn't keep her around. Btw, NYC is below 20 degrees today and I HAVE TO WORK ALL DAY. koops
He just seemed more happy and relaxed with her in season 4 to me. hard to explain it. He flirted in S5 too (cafeteria scene, first date night, etc). I think the tone might be different this year because he's figuring out all sorts of things and what maybe before was just unconscious flirting to him now has a meaning. That, and the fact that they had way more scenes together in S4 than after Amy started hanging out with the girls and be her own character. I wish they would write in more moments of them doing stuff together, all of it seems to happen off screen right now. I think it'll be hilarious to watch when he deliberately starts "making moves" in his own way. lol. Might be a season or two down the line but it'll be gold. Yes in season 4 seemed to be more shamy hanging out scenes and they seemed longer... that's where my feeling is coming from. I don't want to debate it, just a feeling I have about it. koops
I know this is going to sound repetitive but I really have to praise the writers. There are so many easy cliches they could have fallen into to move these two along and they not only avoided every single one of them so far, but they are making statements that they aren't even going there. To me, the most important one is to avoid that Sheldon moves things along because he's afraid she's going to leave him because she wants things and she wants them now. And to turn Amy into a regular girl who doesn't get Sheldon's behavior when she is actually meant to be his counterpart, so she should get his behavior. That would have been such an easy option to go for if they wanted them to progress, and yet they're doing the exact opposite.

BazingaFan
I agree writers did well. think about it... telling sheldon there is no pressure almost guarantees the next move will be made by sheldon. he likes to be in control... and we know now that he has been thinking about sex... so amy has given him the chance to do something on his own terms, which is what I'd like to see. The God Particle
Is that what was meant by her present to him? It's what I had been thinking but it wasn't completely clear and I did not want to presume too much.

koops
I do honestly think Penny has told her something. It's no coincidence that the no pressure thing comes right after 6x15, she's never pressured him into anything before that episode, what else could it mean? I know we don't have the report yet, but it would be nice if they would clarify things like that. I honestly can't see Penny not running to Amy and telling her what Sheldon said about sex to her and Leonard in the two episodes before... but we don't get to see it. I'd love to see that. tmp
The joke about bowel movements and spice and how that relates to V-day. Maybe the cold has frozen my senses...I don't get it. I think the joke is that it doesn't relate to V-day. He was trying to change the subject when Amy mentioned V-day. Relationships have a lot of different dimensions, and if you think about it, the writers have been pushing the boundaries of Shamy from all sides at different times. We've seen friendship/intellectual compatibility, attachment, emotional vulnerability now on both their parts, a healthy level of possessiveness, physical affection, sexual (sort of, in Fish Guts), and overall caring about each other. It seems that in this one we're getting several of those--they each care enough to try to get the other one something meaningful, knows each other well enough to figure out what that might be, commitment/attachment by the nature of the gifts, and though we don't know yet his response, there's a hug. Progress is being made.
silverangel
I’m really loving the tidbits of information we got. They really gave each other the perfect gift since what both needed was reassurance, reassurance about different things but reassurance that is, and they got it!! It’s so them and so meaningful!! They always meet halfway. How much respect and understanding is there in this relationship??!! Wow!! Moreover, I for one find Sheldon’s gift particularly romantic. To respond to Spook’s question, I so would prefer this kind of gesture to jewelry!! Also, my emergency contact is a friend, but I look forward to the day when I will have that special someone to include!! And a hug?? Sometimes they mean more than a kiss!! Sure, a proper kiss is due, but no rush…they are going there!! So true, they complement each other, they have to learn one another in every way. Kazziedal
Just read more of Monique's report and I'm melting with shamy feels. The whole scene in sheldons apartment Is so perfect for them. I couldn't have imagined better.

koops
Aaaaand discuss... Lol. Well sounds like the pressure isn't what we originally thought but I think the intent is the same. She's so freaking good to him. Gah! Also, it sounds like Penny might have not told her anything in the end. Which might be a good thing.
Razberrypie
Oh Amy, you angel. You even tell Sheldon to take back his gift . I really like these reminders we get that Amy isn't just with Sheldon because of her own fantasy romance ideals that would be satisfied by a traditional valentines day, but because she really cares about him, knows about his likes and just wants to see him happy. I missed the days when Amy made Sheldon properly smile! Also an episode where Amy doesn't actually get mad at Sheldon? Bonus!!! :D

MJistheBOMB
So, even though it would have been nice to see a bit more romance between the Shamy, I'm still happy with that scene. Monique
saweco
Oh man, that tag. As soon as I read that she'd be his emergency contact I knew she was in for a world of trouble. hahaha I had flashes of leonard in the ball pit, leonard checking for chair lice, sheldon demanding stephanie perform all sorts of medical tests on him, etc.
