Actually, you know what's the other thing I like about this? That you hear so much complaining about the girlfriends changing the guys, that it's so great to see Amy give up on the stereotypical romantic date idea and just make him happy and let him be himself.

And then she just takes her breath away.

Just read the full report and a) Monique, I love you. Bless you for your efforts.

b ) I feel like a huge ball of warm fuzzies right now. Amy, with her gift, reassuring him that she understands his awkwardness and she's willing to share his geekery.. Sheldon, with his gift, reassuring her that she means so much to him. He has her name on call in a freaking EMPLOYMENT FORM. And how happy they make each other with their gestures.. and the hug, and Sheldon patting her knee.

Forget the kiss, I could have thought for a year and never thought of anything so perfect. It's better than the Gift of the Magi.

This is going to be the most beautiful story ever.. just reading of it made me cry when Amy did.

Ikr. His JOB. His WORK. She's his out. His call....its just so PERFECT!

I love how we've gone from feeling slightly let-down, to completely smitten with this episode in less than 12 hours. It goes to show that Shamy NEEDS to be analysed to see just how wonderful and meaningful it is 'cause it's just that darn deep! The writers are lucky we exist ;)

I'm good at revealing low expectations on initial postings and then seeing how everything changes from full report. :p

And then the tag made me laugh so hard. Of course that's what would happen, it's Sheldon. :)

I'm so grateful to the writers for coming up with this!

Awwww, you're so sweet :-). I love you too! Yeah, you know? Honestly, when I left the studio last night, I was a little bummed out since I was so hoping for a romantic kiss or SOMETHING but once I started typing out the entire story and allowing it all to sink in as I did so, I LOVE IT...I am just so completely in LOVE with this unique couple. It's so fun to watch. They're perfect for each other....so romantic.

Monique - it's interesting to know that you yourself went through the transition phase, even after watching it. As Razberry says, the Shamy does need a bit of thought and sinking in before the full flavor is experienced. :)

Hmm. :icon_rolleyes: Well, who cares.. we're the happy campers right now!

Krys - you're a vixen. ;)

My expectations have always been low. I tried to bring people "down" to my level Monday morning in this very thread as a matter of fact. ;)

haha so true! things tend to snowball a bit in here, I think 6x14 literally blew everyone out of the water so it was hard to find ground again. I still don't think the kiss is premature though. I don't think it's essential quite yet, but I do think we're on the cusp and that it won't be long before it is. I seriously don't think they can go 2 years without one, even with these two.

You did. I remember. I've learned my lesson. LOL....or at least I've hope I've learned my lesson. ;-P

Monique

As I stated last night, I'm done cheating by reading reports unless I go to a show or a close friend does but apparently my lil tidbits pissed of a few people and now they are living on cloud 9.  Go figure.  :p

I had mixed feelings about the idea of a kiss, to tell the truth.  While I don't think I would have objected (!), I was still unsure of how such a thing would occur, especially given what happens in the previous episode, with all the drama and yelling and frustration.

And I've always been a proponent of a quiet, thoughtful kiss on Sheldon's part, not necessarily a conventional moment (like Valentine's Day), so I didn't know if I wanted it to happen in such a conventional circumstance, such as a VD date.

AND, I also wondered if it was going a little fast, coming close on the heels of his admission that sex with Amy might be coming down the pike at some point.

So, though I never would have seen this scenario coming, in a way I'm glad they've put off a kiss at this point.  It's kind of like saving your favorite part of the meal for last, and then postponing dessert until tomorrow. :p

I know that the writers have said that with the Shamy that they often discuss what most couples would do, and then kind of look at it in the light of how different Sheldon and Amy are, and how they would not do something the same way as other couples.

Apparently, they're really following this rule! :D

I'm glad that they each found something to offer the other that truly touched the other.  Amy's willingness to let Sheldon off the conventional date/gift hook (hey, she's already got a tiara!) and spend the evening doing something he likes; Sheldon offering her the specialness and trust of making her his emergency contact, even if they might not agree as to what constitues an emergency... :D

Maybe we'll get a kiss in May... :D :D :D

My favorite thing is that amy gave sheldon what exactly what he wanted -- she was truly being selfless and this will not go unnoticed by Sheldon. I seriously cannot wait to see this hug and the touching of the leg -- and most important, I just want to see the look on Sheldon's face during the whole thing.  It will be so sweet.  I can't wait.

Well guys...we have hugs, knee-patting and general touching of sorts, my kiss will come, don't when but I'll be patient....we've gotta get one for the season. May sweeps....? Or the next sweeps episode?

We've had THREE episodes in a row with Shamy scenes/plots, so...I'm pretty sure the next episode will NOT be Shamy or relationship centered.

Oh no I'm not saying there *should* have been a kiss in this one, although I was pretty certain it was coming. lol. I'm saying that I feel like we're there as a general timeframe right now. As in, this second part of the season. To be honest, if they drag a kiss out past 7x10 I think it's going to be too much.

7 x 10? I can't even think that far...  :icon_lol:
