Jim On Conan

Recommended Posts

Hey, it's a bit of a walk!

Well... a three minute walk, lol. They're right next to each other. Studio 15 and studio 25 are aligned.

What's super weird is I actually requested tickets for that day but have to open at work. I'll see if the other manager wants my shift. :p

He was also on Conan the other night as well! (Tuesday) He was one of the people in Conan's questionnaire thing.

it says in the picture that they'll have to send a car even though he's next to him, its a joke i know but i thought it was funny

I see. I actually think it wasn't about being lazy but about nerds being weak ("nerds aren't the most physical people").

Looking forward to a new Jim/Conan!

He seems to have a thing for turkey sandwiches. :)

Jim left a mark on Conan so Conan better keep that wreath up all season long! OMG! Jackie is famous now thanks to Jim Parsons #tbbt #conan

That's exactly what I was thinking, too!

One of the things that gets me through the day is being able to watch Conan (haven't missed an episode in years), even if I have to watch it at 4 in the morning, so that wreath BETTER NOT move! My jimmies will be rustled.

I loved Little Sheldon and I'm glad he didn't leave him perched in that wreath sitting on that scary elf's lap! :p

Silly Jimmy, "urethium" is NOT an element... :D

He was adorable, as usual. :)

From the location in the song, and the pronunciation error of Jim's, he probably meant Ruthenium. After almost three years, a slight error in similar pronunciation is very understandable.

At least he didn't say "urethreum", though he came close... :)

I saw a clip on YouTube a few months ago, I think, where Daniel Radcliffe was on some talk show and sang the Elements song really fast. He said that he had learned it as a sort of party trick kind of thing or bar bet or something like that.

I think it might have been harder for JP in some ways because he not only had to sing it, but he had to interject his lines and act drunk and all that stuff. I don't guess he sang the whole thing, though, since the scene ends shortly after he says, "Just the Asians!" :p

It also reminds me of his Proxima Centauri poem, which he would have to have learned, including the "wrong" part, plus he'd have to break it up for each time he had to do the separate stair entrances.

I love that he does all that stuff! :D

I was watching this last night and my partner asked me "Oh it's Parsons again, is he the only one that does interviews?,  I replied yes he sort of is really, well he does the bulk of them anyway, I wonder why that is?   Ambition, yeah I think he is very ambitious.  Workaholic, yep definitely, the man loves to keep working.  I wonder if he suffers from depression?  Just that Jim seems driven to exercise and work, work work, which is normally a tonic for keeping it at bay.

It's been good to watch Jim on the different shows, he seems the most comfortable on Craig, then Conan, then with Lettermen and Leno I get "nervousness" from him,

Look at confident Jim on here and think back to his first interview with Craig all those years ago, and yes he is dressed much better this time, I love purple, and is that the Tony's suit?

Lovely interview. Jim in an upbeat holiday mood, complete with the Element song, random humming, Jackie's Sheldon-doll and an elf wreath, made my day. The man never fails to make me laugh and 'aww' at the same time.

Convict - I've hardly ever felt a depressed vibe from Jim; he comes across as pretty well-adjusted and comfortable with himself, in his interviews. I think the reason for his working so hard is genuinely what he says, i.e. he loves acting so much (especially stage performances) that it doesn't feel like work to him. And given that he can do Broadway only over his summer breaks, he really doesn't have much option of relaxing if he wants to take up good stage offers.

But he does seem to be somewhat imbalanced about his occasional (one-time?) exercise fetishes. I'm glad he keeps active regularly, but goodness knows why he got obsessed enough with it to do 6 miles a day for months!

OMG!  Why is everyone so damn concerned or reading into something that isnt there?  Geez, Jim's fine!  He does have another project to get ready for and plus he's not THAT thin.  Chill.

I think it's true that he has different levels of relaxation on the different shows.

Of course, he's most at home on Craig and I think it was cute that Craig was his first talk show ever and Craig made him feel so welcome. I love the way Craig said at the end that he thought it went really well and that Jim should come again, etc. Also, I think Jim said he watched Craig fairly regularly, and he knew a lot of the routines that Craig had been doing.

I do think that Jim's first appearance on Letterman was much less relaxed, but I think that David Letterman kind of took to him as well. I think they bonded over their smoking/health anecdotes (as JP also did with Craig!) and I think that the success of the show and Jim's Emmys and Golden Globe put him in a better position on Letterman--he's not just some goofy sitcom star, but a REAL ACTOR, etc. ;)

I think he's also pretty well at ease on Fallon and Kimmel. Those are looser, goofier shows, later at night, a somewhat looser, cooler audience vibe. I think Conan is also that way.

Leno is a more traditional show, I think, and though I wouldn't say that Jim is necessarily nervous on Leno, I think that his personality is a little more suited to the later, younger, hipper crowds of Craig and the others.

But a lot of it may just have to do with the fact that he's been on some of the shows more often than on the others. I think that Jim is easy-going and humble enough to try to be as adaptable as possible and I think he gets a kick out of the crowd as well.
