I know Ar Diem, it's either that or they not want to do another TBBT cast member in a commercial this year after Mayim's Old Navy commercial from this past spring.

why? Mayim's commercial was related to Blossom, not TBBT.

She is also still recognizable as Blossom.  Most people have probably forgotten JG was in NL Christmas at all and since BBT is so popular you'd basically have a big Leonard in the middle of Griswold reunion commercial.

I was thinking this pretty much. Everyone I have told still drops jaw when I tell them "yeah he was Rusty!"

I have seen that movie twice in about 4 years and the second time even I was surprised again.  He was young and didn't do much to stand out.
