Pomita
It's nice to come across all the things I have in common among people around here, like this: But I'm different from him in that I'm an only child so I'm used to being on my own and learned to enertain myself growing up to point I actually enjoy being by myself more often than being with other people. Tensor - there are no class divides in science! The stories of Sursonica's and Tensor's hair-related ID issues are thoroughly enjoyable. Lissie - you certainly sound like a nerd. I would say even an overwhelming passion for reading can be classified as nerdiness of a kind, even if it's not specifically science or comic-books. MJistheBOMB
I have a question, guys: Is a BOOKWORM ( not in math/science/chemistry, but in literature/history/biography/religions/cultures) a NERD too? Hey, I'd say that's a bit nerdy. LOL. Nothing wrong with it either. I wish I read more, in fact. Monique

Sounds like a nerd to me. My oldest daughter is obsessed with Victoria lit. Her thesis was on the Brontes. And she's a nerd.
walnutcowboy
Camouflage, for infiltration. Really, if you are medically retired, you can dress any way you want. Along with letting your hair and beard grow. Having a bike doesn't hurt either. But hell, Dr. David Underhill drove a bike also. Medically Retired DOES have some advantages. After being released from a 5 months of being in the hospital, I started growing a "rat tail". This was more than 5 years ago. People are surprised when they first see it (I normally keep it tucked inside my shirt), as I am a "clean cut" type of guy.

Razberrypie
This has been very interesting to read! It's nice to see so many people that I can relate to! Above all I'm very into video games and have especially been a crazy nerd for all things Nintendo for as long as I can remember. Love Doctor Who, Lord of the Rings and have watched a fair amount of Star Trek (though wouldn't call myself nerdy for it.). I also love Superhero movies and comics. As far as science goes, Biology is currently what I'm studying in college and has always massively interested me so it's hopefully the path I'll be going down in the future :D. Appearance wise, yeah, I probably don't pay much more attention to myself than Amy does to herself . I only really bother with make-up and dresses when I go out. Shamyfan
I'm a nerd since I've been a kid. I LOVED Star Trek:TNG. Data was my fav character. He wanted to fit in. I really attached to that. I am also a big tv, cartoon, music and movie nerd. I know a bunch of facts about them and can remember crap. When I get into something I'm really into it. Now it's TBBT. I tried for years to deny my nerdiness and be cool. For a few years. I was in the bad crowd. Drinking, partying....Too much TBBT has helped me come back to my roots and calm down. So happy I did. Now my family tell me I'm nerdy, my co workers think I'm nerdy. I'm so glad I'm a nerd.
Anomaly
Well, for me that's a difficult question. Way back when I was in school, I was a nerd in the sense that I was in the top-2 percent of my class, averaging above a 96 in all classes. I was also in what my school called the accelerated class. When I took the then standard IQ test, I scored 2-points below the genius level (probably because of a few questions where I 2nd guessed myself). That said, the people I hung out with were definitely not the nerds. My crowd was considered the trouble makers, pot-heads & outcasts (at least later on). I was a nerd in that I was the kid who was really into stuff like Star Wars and listening to Kiss & bands like that. Beyond that, I was & still am a video game geek (especially RPGs), and I still have yet to be even remotely challenged at Star Wars trivia. I probably could have easily gone the total nerd route, but as it turns out, I'm just a typical 47-year old who plays video games & knows a lot about Star Wars & Kiss. Lissie
When I was teenager sometimes I used to watch those American films from the 80s where the nerds are mistreated and the conclusion is that to be a nerd means to be stupid Then I was sad with myself and my lack of friends, parties, etc. Now with TBBT I feel proud of being a nerd Thanks TBBT! iTz Lotus
I would say that I am a video game nerd. I don't really have a passion for other video games other than shooters but it's definitely something. And over the past few weeks I have been getting into comic books. I was never into them and I decided to check them out and needless to say; I am hooked!
