I've only seen a handful.  When I was a kid I think I may have seen one or two my brother may have had, but he was never really into comic books or superhero stuff.

The first comic books I remember were my cousin's Classics Comics, which were actually works of literature recreated as comics.  I read Silas Marner and Huckleberry Finn, and maybe Uncle Tom's Cabin.  I think that's nerdier than reading Batman or Spiderman comics... :p

The only other comic books I've read were a handful that were created for Quantum Leap and a few that were done in 2008 or so for The X-Files.

If it weren't for my TV obsessions, I wouldn't have read anything other than those old Classics Comics. :)

Quantum Leap had comic books?  I watched that show religiously in my teens, and after all these years it's still one of my all-time favorites.

Dizzy? Hmm, maybe he needs our help for getting the art of reading comic books ;)

Yeah, maybe we can hold on to him while he reads one. ;)

I actually thought this episode's basis was realistic to convention culture. If you have an awesome costume you don't need an excuse to leap into sexy photo shoot mode.

And I once got into a really heated debate about Spider-Man armed with only limited information and my debating skill of acting like I have all the facts right here in folder...

Aside from the car theft... Everything else that happened I've either seen happen or done.

Try the graphic novel Watchmen. but note that it is for mature audiences - and if you have seen the film then maybe you don't need to read the book. It is a good run through of the superhero problem and is reasonably accessible IMO.

Yeah, see, not interested. :p

I have never really liked the media.  The only reason I bought those other comics was because of the TV show links.  And the ones they did for TXF most recently was a 30 Days of Night crossover that actually worked pretty well--and whoever did the artwork got M&S pretty well.  I glanced at some of the older TXF comics that came out while the show was on the air and I just couldn't stand the artwork, let alone the storytelling.

The Quantum Leap comics were not that great, as I recall--so-so artwork and so-so storytelling.

When it comes to stuff like this I'd rather read fanfic (or "real" books).  The idea of comic books or graphic novels for their own sake just doesn't appeal to me.

I think there were only about 6 or 8 of them.  I don't know if I ever found all of them.  There's a comic book store I've gone to (to buy TXF cards, etc.) and I found them there, but they were not a hot item.

They were okay, but nothing to get all that excited about.  I don't remember if I still have them...

Jim Parsons is one of them. He says it makes him dizzy when he tries to read a comic book. :p

Have to agree with Jim here! He also stated he doesn't know where to look and that is another problem I have with Comic Books: They don't make sense to me as far as how to go about actually reading them. Give me a novel any day!

EDITED: Spacing and spelling.

Voted this episode as Excellent!

Loved everything about it. The hacked GPS system...hilarious! The Ster Trek NG costumes were great & the similarity in looks to those ST characters was spot on. Well done :)
Sheldon with lang hair as Mr Data ...I drooled a little I must admit. It looked great on him.

The girls in the comic book store bit was funny & loved that they made them go more into the reason why the guys are so wild about the comics! Saved it on HD recorder as I really want to watch this episode again. Sadly also the last episode my country will air on tv until springtime :( Will have to watch rest on my laptop for the time being....

Watched the new Avengers movie yesterday and there was a scene where the main characters discuss Thor's hammer and why Thor was the only one who could lift it, as each Avenger gives it a try - It made me think so much of this episode and the argument Amy, Penny and Bernadette had over Thor's hammer - Bernie's 'You don't know his life!' line is still one of my favorites in the series.

I was thinking of this episode when I watched that movie scene too.  Wonder if anybody who works on the show, saw that scene and had a smile beaming across their face. ;)

Wonder how Vision being able to pick up the hammer would've figured into the girls discussion. :p
